Must be a great feeling to be able to tell people whenever you sell something that there is no issues with whatever they buy. Everything you do is documented and on camera. This is exactly why I watch your channel. Thanks again for your time today and enjoy your weekend.
I've had two of these, and currently the 89' is still going after much use abuse on a cattle ranch- with normal maintenance they'll go forever! So I loved seeing this one on the page!
my grandfather had the same 4wheeler only it was 2wd. i still have it but i dont use it much as it was his, and i try and keep it just how he had it. these things are indestructible though he worked it to the bone up at the lake. its cool to see this quad on the channel. bring back lots of good memories.
This was by far, the best Vinny episode I've seen. I could not keep my eyes of him. What a joy to watch. (I'm going back for doubles ;-)) Oh... and cool quad revival also ;-) ;-) ;-) Thanks :-)
I love those ATVs I had a 96 King quad 300 it was a beast in low range and diff lock. That series of Suzuki quad runners were years ahead the competition.
Holy Potatoes that was the first 4 wheeler I ever rode. We still have 3 of them sitting in my dad's shed. I remember when I was 7 yrs old and went to ride one day and started that bad boy up and put her in reverse to back out of the garage and that unit stuck wide open in reverse what a ride that was
I picture a kid getting on putting it in reverse squeeze the throttle a little to much and when it shot back a bit held on for dear life and accidentally held the throttle wide open. Kids error not the wheeler. But obviously I wasn’t there and have no idea what really happened. LOL
I watch several channels that work on small engines and one thing they all share in common is the troubleshooting carb issues like flooding. I’ve often thought it’d be a great idea to mock up a small hanging tank with fuel or liquid and connect a fuel line to the carb when it’s out of the machine before tear down and after cleaning. This would tell you a lot without having to install and remove the carb in the event your troubleshooting didn’t pan out. You’d find out it’s still leaking, for example, without the headache of having to remove it again.
I have one that my neighbor now uses. It's not in as good as condition as yours. My son had it on an old railroad bed trail and said some horses came by and he stopped to let they by and one got spooked and while trying to get by sat on the front fender area and cracked it. So he says?? They are a beast. I like that they sat close to the ground and weren't tippy. If you got into a bad situation, you could put it into low range, lock in the differential then put it into reverse and back your self out of just about any situation. If I can remember correctly they had something like 21 different gears including reverse. I cut a piece of plywood and secured it over the rear rack so my golden retriever could ride with me. After that she rode with me all the time. The only issue I had was since they sat so low, they bottomed out in the snow real fast and then you were done. Nice catch on your 250 and enjoy it as I'm sure you and your dog will.
Highly underrated four wheelers (early 2000s Suzuki Eigers are great too). Our family atv was a QuadRunner 250 (2wd) and we put it through hell but it just would not quit. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!
You are my favorite ATV/Motorcycle mechanic. The way you take us through your whole process... I learn so much. When I was a kid, that Quad Runner was my dream ATV! I lusted over the brochure constantly lol.
This is what I have for a 4-wheeler. It was the first ATV my father-in-law bought and when he went to a bigger machine he gave it to me and my wife. It was pretty worn out when we got it with a leaky carb, slipping clutch, and tires that went flat all the time. I was thinking of getting a Honda a couple years ago but decided to just sink some money into the Suzuki instead. I went through the carb, got some new tires, and the clutch fix was just a little adjustment on the side of the transmission. I'm really a Honda guy but you can't beat the transmission on the Suzuki. You have three ranges, you can shift it in and out of four wheel drive, and it has the differential lock option. The reverse is a little clunky to use but at least it has reverse. I use it for cleaning fence lines, cutting fire wood, and just scouting around the property. We have some hilly land so it is nice to put it in four wheel drive, low range and just put-put around the hills.
I always wanted one of those since the first time I seen one. It’s all the shifters on the tank that made me want one. I have a burst force 750 which really isn’t in the same class but I would still like one of those. Some of the small Machines are really fun to ride via Timberwolf’s or bayous
New to watching your channel and love the content. Just picked up a 05 Honda Rancher that’s very clean and was well cared for. Makes me wish I kept my early 2000’s 400 EX when I see what they are going for now. Would love to see you do a video tutorial on the main items to check and look for when buying a 4 wheeler used especially an older one. I would like to get something for my son sometime then later and everything I see that would fit him doesn’t run and they all "in my need a carb cleaning” to be perfect per the ad’s.
This one of the only machines I have seen you work on that held a useful amount of oil. 3.5 Qts. not only lubricates but also acts as a coolant guaranteeing a long life. Nice machine .
Good luck finding parts that and the 300 lte are obsolete now, just finished one, took a month. Needed a stator, rectifier, basically everything to run. Ran like new when i finished her. Old farmer had for 12 years and got it at an estate auction.any questions holler atme, always happy to help.
Had 2 of those in the mid 90s. Very solid machines. Had that 250 and i believe a 300 or 350.👌. have fun, wish I'd have kept them. Way more power than you think and with the gear range selection I'm front of you it's easy to get your power to your wheels. Great find, getting to be rare now, get one in from time to time, love working on them still.
Beautiful bike! I have a quad runner 250 1987, almost identical. It has a factory hour meter on it , 10 original hours! My girlfriends grandfather bought it new and it just sat in barn most it's life. Great bikes , great vid! Love the pup ♥️
I have the same exact machine I bought a couple yrs ago and let me tell you the inlet tube is hard as hell to get on. so carb cleanings are far and few . (was hoping you showed how you do it) I tried to get in touch with you to see if you wanted to give it a once over for but was unsuccessful :( keep up the great content you do great work!!
Joe, I have a 1995 and I ended up soaking the airbox to carb tube in hot water to make it more pliable. Was still a PITA to get on but made it a little easier and less worried about splitting it. I too was hoping he was going to show putting it back on. I was like "This should be interesting to see" but he didn't show it.
@@pschroeder79 Yeah I ended up putting it in front of a heater and that worked out for me. I once tried microwave but that didn't end well. Wait! you soaked the plastic air box and not the inlet tube? I'll try the hot water routine next with just the inlet tube . MY goal is NOT to take the skins off to take air box off. thanks for the info
My dad had that exact model for years, great running beast. Lot fun in the woods, lot of power for 250. Enjoy, check the 3 15 amp fuses on solenoid. Usually ones burned up wont get enough power to run.
The one we did had fuel tank under right side rear fender, 5 gallons. Like those with tank up top. My dad had 2 of those quads like yours, super reliable, fun to ride, great elk hunting mountain quads. Great vid Bro!!!
It was very very dangerous for the dog, I saw a number of close encounters. Too big a risk, take him on board (safely), he will survive more than likely. He will enjoy himself.
@2vintage you may already know, but didn't mention it when changing the oil, there is an internal element type oil filter just to the left of the site glass on the right side of the engine. It has a round cover with three screws holding it on. Easiest to change with the right rear tire removed. Suzuki Oil Filter P/N 16510-24501
I got one of these for free and it was in excellent condition no cracks. Owner said it needed alot of work and I did was rebuild the carb and cleaned the fuel pump and it fired right no problem and it runs great
glad I watched your video as you are the ONLY bloke who made reference to the idle mixture screw, which I was wondering WhereTF it was.,,,,,but nobody and I mean nobody spoke of it. So a big thanks from the land of Oz. Oh and the reference to compression was a bonus - I think Im down on compression as it wont pull.
Bro where are you keeping all these things and how do you get something new almost every day.. posting more videos than 90 per-cent of other other RUclipsrs good for you you're killing!!
for real.... i cant keep track of what he still has and what is gone... it would be great if he updates once i na while what he still got and what he fliped
Those white things in the rear trunk are electric fence insulators. I see Vin left you with the gravy on this job. Thorough job as always to insure a good outcome. So just an air cleaner filter element and battery cover. Vin had loads of piss and vinegar once the job was complete. Good boy
veryone needs a friend like you joe!! i dont know you but you sure seem genuine.. love all your advise and videos... learned quite a bit from you. thank you sir
It's crazy but I could smell that oil burning from here. I have been bringing back to life a few of these machines lately. So far a Suzuki GS 500 and a Kawasaki Mojave 250. I have a 79 Goldwing and a 81 Silverwing waiting in line. I have worked on autos as a hobby and when necessary but these smaller vehicles are a lot easier.
Bad luck with mine, got it cheap in a bundle deal with a few other quads. Got a chinese carb off ebay and threw it in but i think the bottom end it trashed and its burning oil sadly. Also will not run right at all but i think thats more the fault of the carb or oil burning. Cool to see one fixed up nice though.
Your great at finding these deal. You should do a video on how you do it. I keep missing deals since they are few and far between in NY. Love the channel.
I bought one sitting in a garage since 2001 paid $250 for it cleaned out the tank and carburetor replaced the petcock and air filter fired right up 321 miles
I have the Ozark but lust after this bike. I'll own 1, one day. Found on Facebook for 900$in brand new condition but the carb is not oem n it won't start. I'm nervous as hell to grab it
I’m on the east coast of Canada and do the same thing. You just have to look really hard and act immediately if there is a deal. Once you have been doing it long enough people will remember you and you will be offered deals. Also helps make deposits to hold them
I have been looking for a quad for my 11 year old and everything that would fit him doesn’t run and all of them say "needs a carb cleaning” to be perfect. It seems to me if that were true some of these people would have done that themselves so they can get top dollar.
I paid $550 for one just like that, with a plow. The guy said the electrical system needed to be replaced. Got it home, pulled the battery cover off, and found he only the ground wire was attached. Bought. New battery, drained and replaced the gas by oil, and rode it for 9 years without any issues.
Hey 2vintage I just lv vinny he does what my dog does chases me everywhere on my GMX 3000 electric dirt bike vinny is just awesome keep up the amazing content 2Vintage
That was deja doo doo!..lol..Venny was rubbing his ears, they was probably itching him, they may need cleaning or hair plucked from the ear canals ..Love the videos!
Reminds me when I was a little guy at my grandparents house my grampa had one just like it he got me a little honda 50 to match I followed him around for hours then went around there house till dinner time did that every weekend for about 10 year's learned alot from him even being young when he passed might have to find myself one now 😀
Have a 03 2x4 quad runner 160, underpowered, no double wishbone front suspension, bald ass front tires, starts first crank like it left the factory yesterday. May not be fast but is damn reliable
Boy, that little Vinny the fur mutt really loves his daddy, I can tell!!!! Its cute to see him running after you everywhere. He is a cute little puppy. Careful not to run over the silly little guy!
Hey Joe; what do you do with all the bikes and ATV's you rescue?? Do you keep them, or sell them, or maybe trade for more to fix? You must have an entire motor pool of vehicles by now! And about that hover craft out in your field, are you going to try to get it running out there when it warms up, to get it back on the trailer and get it home to fix it back up?
Had to laugh when you took the spark plug out and hit the decompressor. I bought my son a mini bike cheap that smoked profusely. Drained fuel tank, to put fresh gasoline, when I looked at it, it was very dark blue. Guess someone put pre-mix. Love it when somebody gets a great deal. Funny when the owner says "My mechanic has been working on these for 20yrs". Under my breath I think when's he gonna start "fixing" them. Always look for the little things first 😉👍
If you guys want to see the machines before I make a video with them check out my Instagram: 2_vintage_
No thanks I can't stand Instagram once you sign up on it you start getting a bunch of hoes texting you
The white thing in the toolbox is for insulating on a an electric fence, he probably used it to ride and fix his fence rows
Exactly! Electric fencing insulators
i was about to say that my quad toolbox full of those for the farm😂
Was about to say same thing and I was only guessing, lol I didn't know for sure
Thanks captain obvious
I know you got a great deal. But I would’ve called the guy and given him his money back and his quad.

Can you do a shop tour of all of your current machines. Your garage must be packed! Keep up the great work, I love these videos!
Vinnie’s diagnosis is spot on again. Nice job you two.

yes, Joes furry sidekick needs his own YT channel :)
side question, what breed is Vinny? made me want to get a dog
I'd say he is a labradoodle

"Hey Vin, we got Zip-Ties. Let's party". Hilarious 😂😅
What a steal at 600 bucks!

Inspiring workmanship and clear instructions combined perfectly with concise photography. Thanks for sharing - you are an excellent craftsman.
Finally in my wheelhouse bud! I fixed up like 13 of these now! My favorite vintage quad
My dad had that exact model for years, great running beast. Lot fun in the woods, lot of power for 250. Enjoy, check the 3 15 amp fuses on solenoid. Usually ones burned up wont get enough power to run.
A lift table would be an excellent edition to your garage!

Man your dog running around like that while you're riding had me nervous as hell lol.
He will learn his lesson
Vinny’s a trained professional
It was very very dangerous for the dog, I saw a number of close encounters. Too big a risk, take him on board (safely), he will survive more than likely. He will enjoy himself.
Vinnie will only do it once and will learn from it if he gets hit.
I have a 1995 King Quad with close to 5,000 mile. They are a beast. You got a deal!
I dont even own a quad or a bike. But i love mechanics. I get lost watching your videos for hours! Keep up the good work!!!
They are smooth running, add winch, and she's a monster. Loved the soft squishy seats.

I just got a king quad 300! pretty much same bike but with bigger displacement. Awesome machines
This was a major score! I was surprised with the very first Suzuki QuadSport when they were first released and it was absolutely!
I got one of these for free and it was in excellent condition no cracks. Owner said it needed alot of work and I did was rebuild the carb and cleaned the fuel pump and it fired right no problem and it runs great
I used to have a 1987 that looked very similar to this. I really like this model of quad. They are truly work horses.
One of the best 4x4s ever. We have 2 and a parts machine. Absolute work horses.

The blue version of this beast of an atv was the one I had growing up.
So many great memories.
veryone needs a friend like you joe!! i dont know you but you sure seem genuine.. love all your advise and videos... learned quite a bit from you. thank you sir
I bought one last fall and tucked it away for spring. Needs a tune up. Only 540 miles on it.
Great information.
Good to see hope and bring these from the weak or dead back to life.
You are gifted, with insight and willingness.
Love those old Suzukis. I have a 2000 and a 2001 250 4x4. Can't stop em.
pretty funny watching Vinny chase you your seem to be lucky on finding these things nice job !!
Vinnie loves to chase the giant orange mouse.
Run Vinnie Run 👍
Watched 2vintage for years now love the content 🤘🏼
Don’t forget the broken cv boot. Great buy.
i wish i could find someone in washington state like you. You'd have my business in a heartbeat
Speaking of Suzuki can’t wait to see the rm dirt bike the $1500 one come together. Love the channel.
Nice to catch a break once in a while.
Purdy cool seeing Vinnie out there running with you!
Excellent machines. Very cool for sure. Quick fix and great job, Joe. I like the clutchless transmissions.
omg Vinny! running along side you LOL!! love that dog
I had a 95 but Not 4x4 Great fun and reliable..the reverse u can slap forward going backwards n do a nice reverse 180 lol.
Vinny's a rockstar !!!
Your great at finding these deal. You should do a video on how you do it. I keep missing deals since they are few and far between in NY. Love the channel.
☕Ah, the smell of oil and gas in the morning. Always a learning moment. Vinny asked, 🐶"When do I get to ride?"
I bought one sitting in a garage since 2001 paid $250 for it cleaned out the tank and carburetor replaced the petcock and air filter fired right up 321 miles
Hard to beat a Zuke, picked up a 2019 500 kq with 58 miles on it, tons of fun
I have the Ozark but lust after this bike. I'll own 1, one day. Found on Facebook for 900$in brand new condition but the carb is not oem n it won't start. I'm nervous as hell to grab it
Man how do you find so many good projects!?
I’m on the east coast of Canada and do the same thing. You just have to look really hard and act immediately if there is a deal. Once you have been doing it long enough people will remember you and you will be offered deals. Also helps make deposits to hold them
I have been looking for a quad for my 11 year old and everything that would fit him doesn’t run and all of them say "needs a carb cleaning” to be perfect. It seems to me if that were true some of these people would have done that themselves so they can get top dollar.
Have always really like the look of the dash and 4wd controls on these bikes.
Must be nice to get these deals . I would be happy to have a cheap 4x4 quad. Being disabled it would make my life easier
Nice little suzuki! I'd take Vinnie to the vet. He might have an ear infection.
I paid $550 for one just like that, with a plow. The guy said the electrical system needed to be replaced. Got it home, pulled the battery cover off, and found he only the ground wire was attached. Bought. New battery, drained and replaced the gas by oil, and rode it for 9 years without any issues.
a nother good find--- you could make a easy 1.000 off that for sure ---vinny seems to like it to --- great video
What a find! I’m a little jealous.
That old Suzuki, has good fire!! That one like that I had in here needed bout everything to get running electrical wise.
Please...be careful when Vinnie is running with you....Thanks for another great video !
Hey 2vintage I just lv vinny he does what my dog does chases me everywhere on my GMX 3000 electric dirt bike vinny is just awesome keep up the amazing content 2Vintage
You and that dog are a good team. Great video.
Battery in front, nice. That 300 i was repairing was wedged in back behind air cleaner..
I have the king quad 300 things a tank and been sunk so many times now I just change the oil and she's going strong now like 8 years
That jump was like an old suzuki ad in dirtwheels
That little Vinny he's so cute, I never seen his little white beard in your other videos,he's your little four on the floor😊
That was deja doo doo!..lol..Venny was rubbing his ears, they was probably itching him, they may need cleaning or hair plucked from the ear canals ..Love the videos!
This is one of the ATVs I'd like to own. Should've bought one years ago.
Very cool. Great project, find the problem, quick fix. Joe tested Vinny approved.
Reminds me when I was a little guy at my grandparents house my grampa had one just like it he got me a little honda 50 to match I followed him around for hours then went around there house till dinner time did that every weekend for about 10 year's learned alot from him even being young when he passed might have to find myself one now 😀
I like those Suzuki atv with super low and differential lock. They’re bullet proof.
Have a 03 2x4 quad runner 160, underpowered, no double wishbone front suspension, bald ass front tires, starts first crank like it left the factory yesterday. May not be fast but is damn reliable
Vinny really likes this one lol. That's a killer deal on it too!
Always look for the little things first 😉👍
You should get a Honda big red
Vinnie is a fast little dude!
I have a Honda Ruckus that I bought wrecked. I have replaced a few parts and I have had it running, but I am thinking about selling it.
The quad runner is a beast I used to have run and it would aways run.
