      Please look a bit into the company you are recommending to your viewers. They have just been issued a huge fine for sharing users data with other companies. It's a shame how they are trying to hide this behaviour away by paying huge sums into RUclips sponsorships. (I also tried the product and really disliked it - it's much easier to just find a therapist online and paying per session - you can also decide to cancel immediately and not go back with no financial penalty).

    I'm no professional driver, and have had both great and awful experiences with both black cabs and Uber, but really appreciate your refusal to hate Uber drivers just because they might be on the other team. There is far too much hate in this world, and that sentiment makes you part of the solution, rather than the problem.

    • @Alex-cw3rz
      @Alex-cw3rz 2 дня назад

      Why hate the drivers, you can hate uber, which is expensive, takes money from drivers. Is an unsustainable business. That they broke the law to exist. The only functioning thing on the app is Google maps, yet the founders are billionaires due to being incompetent parasites, taking the money off the people who do all the work for an app that barely works and what does was not created by them.

    About hating other drivers - As a bus driver, it’s sort of known in the bus driving industry that taxi drivers have a hatred towards buses and bus drivers.
    I’ll always let out a taxi driver if i see them just picking up a passenger, or finished setting down. However the favour is never returned and whenever i find myself needing to pull out of a bus stop on oxford street, i have 8 taxis going past me before i can move off.
    I’ve had arguments with taxi drivers cutting me off and setting down directly in front of me in the bus lane, i get there’s a job to do, but can there not be some consideration that i can’t swerve a 16t bus around them on finchley road 😂
    I’ve had taxi drivers seem shocked when i let them out; it’s just confusing because we both pretty much work the same jobs, why can’t we help each other out?

    • @TheAviationChannel

      What route do you drive?? I used to drive the 94 (Acton Green- Picadilly Circus)/ 148 (White City - Camberwell)/ 70 (Chiswick - South Kensington) routes, and currently drive rail replacement rail replacement for Metroline, normally out of Holloway and Willsden High road and sometimes Cricklewood.
      Must agree with you that I've had some really bad taxi drivers cut me off and blocked me into my bus stop, such as on Queen's Gate near South Kensington, even though I had my right indicator on to leave a bus stop, etc. Most are considerate to bus drivers, but normally only when they don't have any passengers, of which case they wouldn't mind sticking behind a bus in order to make searching for a passenger to hail a bit more easier 😅😅

    • @Cabdrum1
      @Cabdrum1 6 месяцев назад +2

      No need to single out Black Cab drivers, because every vehicle driver hates buses (not the driver) , simply because they are big, you can't see around them, it can be difficult to overtake them and they keep stopping and hold you up. Nothing personal.

      @TheAviationChannel 6 месяцев назад +1

    5:00 In my company, the roles have flipped over. 2 of our most experienced dispatchers, now nearing their retirement age, were cab drivers.
    However: They moved to the call center early this millennium because we get regular wages, whereas cab drivers working a maximum of 60 hours a week may not even get anywhere close.

      They have to take jobs within the 12 miles IF it’s from a rank or a taxi responds to a street hail, and the jobs within the licensing area. No offence in not stopping to a street hail although I can’t see many that wouldn’t.
      But ……..
      Taxi lights on the latest cab appear to be on all of the time, when in fact they’re not, just a crap design. So they were probably not for hire or going to an app job

    I don't take London taxis most of the time because I don't live there. The first time I took a cab was from a hotel near the Royal Astronomical Society (Burllington, I think) to Waterloo. All the cabbie did was moan about the lack of trade, and I simply told him I couldn't help. I did tip him well, but he made me think his lack of business was my fault. The second occasion was with my wife, who has now passed away, but it was from Waterloo to wherever the double-decker tour bus picked people. The driver was a woman, and she was the kindest person I have ever met. Pam, my wife, was disabled, and the taxi driver went above and beyond. I think she got something like a 200-300% tip.
    I think all I'm saying is most people will tip a little bit, but some of us out there will tip a lot if you just be kind. Just helping load the luggage goes a long way but I understand if you normally deal with assholes and cheapskates. - Tom

How many came from Leeds, Manchester, etc and then moved to London to do the job? Do passengers and drivers discriminate if they're of opposing nationalities or religions, especially during wars abroad? Do passengers and drivers refuse jobs because either party are women, poorly dressed, wearing particular religious symbols, or too old/young? Drivers can always turn down drunks, right, but can they make you pay in advance because they think you're too broke or likely to not pay?
