Campaign: Amazing storyline, gameplay not the best, but still good. Multiplayer: Great gameplay, definatly best FPS game, through in my opinion there are few things I want to be changed comparing to old BF games. Soundtrack: Fucking awesome!
I agree with everything you said. The soundtrack has gotten much better now with Battlefield 1 though but this type of music really does fit BF3. The modern feeling and dark "war is hell" type soundtrack is just perfect for BF3.
@@jrh7178 I think the BF3 soundtrack is one of the most unique in an FPS title and very fitting. Most use the same cinematic feeling orchestral soundtracks which get stale really fast. I love that they tried a more experimental and electronic approach with BF3. Hopefully they return to the old “glitch” style with BF2042 cause it was awesome…
@@Dragoneer Kinda agree. The battlefield 3 soundtracks though are simplistic and dont have much melody in them but i do like the glitchy style that it has. I personally wish that 2042 is a mix between the orchestral feeling of BF1 and glitchy style of BF3. That would be perfect in my opinion.
@@jrh7178 Simplistic wouldn’t be the word. Monotone? Yes. But the composure of the tracks were still complex enough to make each one of them stand out on their own. And I think this monotone effect was able to add to the brutality and seriousness of the game’s story and setting. Add distortion to the mix and you get a very “war isn’t fun, war is a duty, war is destruction” kind of vibe like you mentioned. That’s why I feel it’s more fitting (in a modern shooter at least) than a generic orchestral score, where that would be more fitting alongside a historic conflict like WW1 (both hold up to their own). BF3’s sound track felt futuristic to a degree too, which would be perfect for BF2042…
@@Dragoneer Well yeah monotone may be the word. But as you said it added to the theme of Battlefield 3. But i also wouldnt call Battlefield 1's score generic. It is orchestral like movie scores usually are but there are clear melodies and structures in it. Its not just your typical 2000s movie score, it actually has some though behind it. Battlefield 3 is definitely has the most unique soundtrack in the franchise but BF1 was musically the best. Thats why i wish they would combine the 2 for 2042. Do you agree?
I really dig how retro 80's this soundtrack sounds. It reminds me of dark action thrillers like The Terminator (the first movie from '84), 48 Hours, The Thing...films like that. It's an ambitious, cold and very atmospheric soundtrack. I love it.

@@brokedreams7792 I feel like you're only saying that because you are a battlefield fan boy. I like battlefield more than I like cod, but the Black Ops 2 soundtrack is amazing. The scores composed by Jack Wall and Trent Reznor go against the contemporary music of previous call of duty installments. While other cod games have the stereotypical scores that invoke patriotism and contrast explosions, black ops 2 has soundtrack paired to the themes of suffering and the ghost of the past coming back to haunt. Trent Reznor adds his iconic electronic industrial sound to the soundtrack creating suspense and dread. Trent elevates the music from being just another cod soundtrack.
There's a tune in the Ace Combat 7 OST from the mission "Last Hope" that I found incredibly reminiscent of this. They share the same ominous, terrifying, underlying threat of chaos and the unknown vibe. Definitely worth a listen, even better when you understand the context.

Sorry buddy, but you are wrong. Old doesnt mean inferior. Infact, Battlefield 2142 gameplay system is better in my opinion. Weapons are more balanced, large scale maps were better, squad system was amazing (6 men squad, squad leader had total control, renaming squad, adding members, he could issue order so others could actually see, were they need to go, BF3 marker is barely visible), squad members could earn unlocks for squad score. Teamwork was better.
Goddamn, I remember all the hype for Battlefield 3 back then. Everyone was getting sick of the yearly COD releases that battlefield finally saw an opportunity to get big, and boy it did. A shame EA and DICE fucked it up these last couple of years.
