Characters, music, campaign... Battlefield 3 is more atmospheric than Battlefield 4.
To be honest BF4 makes BF3 look great, and thats saying something. Considering that BF3 Didn't have a original story plot at the time. Russians, Nukes, Conspiracy, blah blah blah...
Ray Sanchez the story of BF3 was like a more believable rip-off from Black Ops but the multiplayer and coop were both awesome.

Who cares if the story wasn't Oscar level, the way the campaign was directed and executed was like a really good movie. I play it over and over again for the immersion factor.

MyMayPeX Mate, I don't even like Black Ops 1. However, this campaign was much worse.
Antonio Perez At least Dice upgrade and create a new engine for their games unlike CoD. And pyschoacoustically, the Battlefield series has better sound. High dynamic range sound is pretty sick.

DICE had to make a new engine because their games couldn't work anymore on their old engine; just look at Battlefield 2 Armored Fury for an example. I agree the sound is good but it isn't as good as it was in the old games. You can't even hear enemy footsteps in the current games and that is one major sound indicator you need when you're playing an fps game.

Everything about this game was perfection. The multiplayer, the campaign, the co-op, the gameplay, the freaking music! We'll never see a Battlefield game like this ever again, period.
Last Battlefield that I truly liked was Battlefield 1. Too bad that the last two Battlefield games are so dissapointing

NO you won't cus DICE went woke, the heads are in a echo chamber like you see at big movie studios, think Lucasfilm currently....
the fact EA hasn;t removed them from the next game is telling, now it's DICE, Respawn and one other studio making the next entry, if respawn is in the lead there's a slim chance you'll get BF back but if respawn aren't making the executive decisions there's little hope for it, the music in the series fell off as well after Hardline which that game might have sucked the score was done by Paul Leonard-Morgan the same composer who did Dredd....

0:42 damn hearing this and seeing the title card for the mission with the tanks looking at the desert horizon with the fire looking tint, as a kid i always thought of this looking at hell, this got me so hyped for the mission, bf3 definetly had one of the most goosebump indusing soundtracks

Idc what everyone says, the story line was fucking great of BF3, far better than BF4 and let's say every storyline of the recent CoD's
I love battlefield's sound designer's choice of computerized synthetic sounds, reminiscent of a mixture of the sounds of the on-board electronics of modern combat vehicles and radio interference. It's amazing how he managed to convey the mood of modern warfare so seamlessly and completely with so few resources.

Battlefield 3 is the most immersive war simulator I've ever played, and it will always have a place in my heart, next to the greats like Half life and Dead Island.

playing this on the night map with a thermal scope and rushing the objective was an experience i can never go back too
Goddamn it i emagine to be in like iran on a fucking machine gun on top of an abrams...the fear,the tension and feeling that you maybe will not come home the next day...this is what the campaign of bf3 do to me and what I imagine everytime I play that mission thank you so much for creating these games (sorry for bad english i'm italian but here in Italy we love this fucking game)

0:00 - C-130 flying over the Middle East on a airborne recon mission at 2300hrs. (Night)
0:42 - Camera snaps to the back of the plane where the jumpers are sitting. The light turns green and the door is opening.
1:17 - The jumpers have jumped and they are falling in as H.A.L.O. formation.
2:20 - They pull their chutes.
2:40 - They are just landing.
2:52 - All the jumpers have landed and are removing their chutes.
AC-130 is a gunship. The A stands for 'armed. There would be no jumpers in it, because all the room where the jumpers would normally be would be taken up by the aircraft's armaments. What you're talking about is a C-130, which is the regular old cargo version of the plane in question. Just saying.
