So nice! I had the nicest smile and now I look like a tweaker. I’m 30 and have almost no upper teeth left because of ME, medication/dry mouth and stuff like that, the two last one just fell out of themselves and in 2016 they were fixed and fine and same in 2019, fine, now - ruined. From 2015-2016 I fixed sooo sooo much with a free dentist since I’m sick but not in this "county" here across country, so I need just fake teeth to chew

It's not even just a matter of hygiene either. Many dental problems are remote weapon attacks. For years I took good care but then got threats of having my teeth destroyed and soon enough I started picking up new cavities. So annoying.

@@makenziecollins7155 I’ve been using prescription higher fluoride toothpaste and flossing a lot more consistently. And it’s stopped some early decay from becoming full cavities. It’s crazy how easy it is to let your teeth go. My partner and I have been together 8 years this year - he slacked. I’ve been waiting to get my wisdom teeth out (they’re impacted) so had semi check ups but he had none. First visit to my dentist in five years I only had one cavity. My partner has 9 and needs his wisdom teeth out since they’ve rotted. I floss and he doesn’t so it’s interesting to see the difference. Hope he starts now 😂 I’ve also been trying to convince him to get Invisalign cause he always complains about his crooked teeth, seeing these results I might pay for it for him.

@@nalinadlm definitely do not do any at home treatments, when we have patients that come in for the Invisalign impressions it often takes us multiple tries to get them absolutely perfect even though we do it everyday! Now imagine how wonky the impressions are when they’re done at home by someone who doesn’t have any experience in the dental field! It’s usually just as expensive as in-office aligners, so there really isn’t much of a benefit. There’s many different types of in-office clear aligner brands so your dentist may recommend something other than Invisalign, but as long as you’re doing clear aligner therapy with your dentist then you should be good!

Wow! So cool! Your teeth look magnificent 😁 Good going. I noticed your teeth had changed but missed this vid. After ❤️ surgery (2 mechanical valves) teeth hygiene was one of the first thing they talked to me about. They do w all ❤️ patients I think because your gums introduce bacteria into your circulation so good dental hygiene is way more important than most people know, especially flossing. Even w hard teeth (sounds like you have soft teeth like my Mom) I still got dental cleanings every 6 months ever since my surgery over 20 yrs ago (except pandemic which has been super rough because its been 3 years approx since last cleaning and it scares me about the health of my mechanical valves but I’m super high risk so am holding out till nasal or pan vaccines so can come out of isolation more - so sorry for the long story but that’s why for people like me w disabilities- you have been a God send. Thank you so much for making all of this easier for us. Your content is a GREAT comfort) I am not sure if people w soft teeth can use this formula. (your dentist or orthodontal Dr would be able to tell you) but just wanted to pass onto you my favorite dental trick while waiting to be able to see dentist (and feel more safe about the transmissibility of these newer variants despite vax). I use Colgate Optic White Advanced Whitening mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide. After research online-other than Colgates Peroxyl, it has one of highest % of hydrogen peroxide, which as a mouthwash component is great for killing bacteria, and so I gargle w it too. Not sure if would work for you in your case but wanted to share w you if it would help or you might be interested since you’ve been so great for people like us and are so vigilant w your dental health.

As I sit here I can’t sleep because of my tooth pain, never thought I would go through this but even if you have good hygiene and a nice smile it can happen if you don’t go to the dentist… unfortunately it’s expensive enough for regular healthcare but then you have to pay extra for dental at ridiculous prices. It’s beautiful to see you use your abundance for such an important healing thing. I lost my job of 6 years during the pandemic and have been trying to replace what I had. It’s been tough so there’s no money to stop this pain just yet, sometimes all I can do is cry. Ab 80% of adults have some form of periodontal disease which research has shown to be linked to diabetes and dementia. Not a lot of people realize that inflammation in the mouth leads to inflammation in the rest of the body.

I was so excited to see this! As an insomniac, I've been listening to you for quite a while. I usually never hear the end of your ASMR videos, because they successfully put me to sleep. But, I also have invisiliners. I am now onto the refiners for a couple months. So glad to hear someone else's journey through this treatment. Especially the nice lady that relaxes me to sleep with her soft sleepy voice and sounds.

Maria I am so happy to see your progress! I just wanted to recommend a second opinion for your cavities before you get them filled. Unfortunately with the pandemic (and even before)dentists are showing areas of the tooth that are soft or have a build up of tartar and not a cavity yet. It's very unusual for a person that follows the recommended twice daily brushing and flossing to all of a sudden get 10+ cavities. No judgments at all, my friend. I just wanted to share. Wishing you all the best and thank you for always making the best content!

Your smile is beautiful! Dental health is so important and I spent the same amount of money getting mine taken care of. I’ve never had a crown or anything, but I’m very prone to cavities! I had my wisdom teeth removed, an orthodontic treatment, and a gum graft which took 24 months start to finish. Because my bite is perfect now I haven’t had a cavity in 4 years! I still battle gingivitis every day, but my dental health has completely changed for the better. You should feel so proud of all your hard work!

I LOVE when you have these conversations with us. You are right, dental hygiene is so important and I struggle with it. I think many many people do but they don't talk about it. I have nightmares my teeth will fall out but I've never had a cavity. 😭 I truly think genetics are saving me in that respect. I want to get Invisalign one day, thank you for sharing your experience with it through the whole process. ❤️❤️❤️

I start my invisalign soon, I just ended my tmj treatment, so this will help fix my bite. I am nervous with how uncomfortable it'll feel, or if it'll give me more painful headaches. Thank you for sharing. It does suck how expensive it is to get the teeth fixed, but anything is expensive. I have an 8 year old daughter with braces, so glad she can start getting a beautiful smile at a young age!

I understand you so much! I am in the middle of my straightening journey as an adult. I think it's somewhat harder when you have to go through this physically (pain, inconvenience, appointments) and still keep up with job, home and other things. Will definitely do my best so that my children are regularly checked and treated on time

Can't believe it's been a year already! The result is amazing. I recently had a terrible experience at the dentist where both my front teeth were cracked and I had to dish out $300 (which is a lot for me) and just with getting older I've also become more aware of the fact that I should try and take care of my teeth as best as I can, because getting new ones are painful...and painfully expensive! xD Now I've started flossing every day!

  • @YellinHelenP
    @YellinHelenP 2 года назад

FLOSSING is critical. If you don't, it's like you never brushed your teeth. All the food and bacteria pretty much stays put, even if you brush beautifully. I am addicted to flossing and use those glider, stick, placard things... they are in my purse, my workplace desk drawer, my car, my bedroom. It is so satisfying to use those things. You can teach your baby girl how to do it with those so easily.

You look amazing, I am very happy for you. Myself I have always taking really good care of my teeth. I don't want to bore anyone with a long dragged out story, getting to the point, because of health issues and a vitamin deficiency that I had, and I'm still working on, over the past several years my teeth have just gotten worse and worse. I have went to the dentist, had things done, it just does not last long.... I have insurance, sadly it doesn't cover" what I need done. It truly is important to take good care of your teeth. Taking good care of your health plays a huge part in having good teeth as well, I truly wish I would have done better. It has truly affected the way I feel about myself, and the way that I am around others, I pray for the day that I may be able to fix this situation... Thank you so much for sharing Maria God bless!!! ❤️

I have read that fluoride can be neurotoxic and hard for the body to get rid of. Nano-hydroxyapatite is said to be a safer alternative and may even be better at remineralization of teeth in some cases. Just letting you know in case you wanted to delve into this further.

So I been contemplating getting Invisalign but I’m really scared I’ll be disappointed again. I need a good doctor

One thing I've added during covid actually with respect to my dental hygiene is that I now wash my toothbrush like I do my other utensils. We don't just rinse off our spoons and forks, right? I don't know why dentists don't stress that we need to keep our toothbrushes clean. And I have to say, my breath is better for it. Just thought I'd add that little tip. You look great Maria! Thanks for the awesome video and for sharing your journey! :o)

I'm so glad you're happy with your results! I have been thinking about getting invisalign to straighten 3 teeth that shifted over the years after braces. Maybe when I finish getting my doctorate, I don't think I could handle both at the same time. Your smile is even brighter and congratulations on achieving your goal!

I had metal braces as an adult for a year. I then got a fixed retainer to the back of my teeth as well as a plastic retainer for night time. I stopped wearing the plastic retainer and now one of my lower teeth is a little crooked again. Highly encourage retainer wearing even if you have a fixed one.

I really want to try Invisalign but my teeth aren’t that crooked, and I need to save money for other dental work I’ll need in the future since my teeth aren’t in the best shape :-/ I so wish I’d learned the importance of good dental hygiene at a younger age, it would have saved me a lot of pain and money.
