I’m in the process of removing all my wisdom teeth because they’re growing out completely sideways instead of straight up and they’ve caused all my other teeth to be pushed forward and inward against one another so after that is when I want to get something similar to these trays. Hope everything gets smoother from here for you. 😌

Dear Maria, thank you for discussing this honestly and frankly. It is important for people to realize that braces are NOT always just for looks -- for perfect "looking" teeth. My steppie is 17 and has had his Invisilign for a little over a year now. He is a gifted trombone player (not bragging, he is literally invited to play in competing colleges once graduated) and he cannot wear traditional braces because he would be unable to play while having them installed. His bite is also off, and the dentists we have visited said he would eventually loose teeth if he did not have them repaired. Teeth are literally bones and we rely on our mouths for life itself. Of course eating, but also expression -- you with ASMR and him with music. We express love -- kissing as you said. We communicate with our mouths and our smiles. We nourish our bodies. So if anyone reading this is having thoughts that braces might be too expensive because it is only for vanity's sake, that is simply not true. Thanks for always being open and honest. I appreciate your kindness and truthfulness.

I’ve had Invisalign for about 2 years now and at the beginning it is ROUGH. Like I had all the same pains and problems as you. I also had those elastic hooks literally hooking into my gums every time I opened and closed my mouth they would rip through my gums and my Invisalign would fill up with blood. Disgusting. But within a couple months, everything got figured out and it was so easy and SO worth it. I had absolutely horrendous teeth, like so crooked, some teeth were almost growing from the roof of my mouth, because other teeth were covering blocking the area where it should be. I used to be so embarrassed to smile and laugh and even talk, and now I don’t deal with that at all. I would do it all over again a dozen times to gain the confidence I’ve got from having Invisalign. The pain is nothing compared to that!

Some weeks hurt but usually it's just discomfort if anything. Kissing, drinking all, Ss all feel fine. I got so used to it that I feel naked without them. Thankfully my kids didn't have too many issues with popping brackets. I think my daughter had 2 pop and my son (who I thought would be constantly popping brackets) didn't have any. (I'm glad because our orthodontist allowed 3 bracket replacements before they started charging you.) There was one time where my son's wire got bent into a V shape on one of his teeth while still in the bracket. He still swears he doesn't know how it happened, but our orthodontist was just as amazed because he said, the way the wire was, it should have knocked his tooth out. He never saw anything like that before. Of course, only my son 🤣😂

I just finished my Invisalign! I remember the first day, how painful it was and how weird the attachments (stones) felt. I had one on every front bottom tooth, and TWO on one of my front top teeth. It’s so worth it though!
Also, look out for angular cheilitis, which is a small skin infection at the corners of the mouth. Having braces/Invisalign increases risk for it. It’s minor, but a nuisance nonetheless, so make sure to be extra diligent with mouth hygiene!

  • @jennyzaczkiewicz4811
    @jennyzaczkiewicz4811 3 года назад

It will be feel tight every time you get your new retainer. Buccal fillings on the gum line have no affect on biting surface, even if you bite on the edge of the occlusal . Fillings falling out In my opinion is that the fillings you had failed. It can be several reasons, if dentist doesn't keep area very dry , the material they used and or bad placement. I have never seen any trays sharp or create sore hummm. If the sores rub on the edges you might try some ortho wax, You can place it on e edges that feel sharp. If cheeks are getting sore you can place thin layer on the OUTSIDE of tray to smooth rough areas. You can place ortho wax anywhere outside or edges the tray. Ortho wax is at most Walmart's and pharmacy's & grocery stores . They may lower the attachments when they re evaluate your case. This may require re-impression. Your teeth will go back to original state if you stop wearing them. With Orthodontic braces as well. They give retainer for both . Teeth have a memory. You will have a certain amount of tightness each new retainer you get. 18 months is a long time for treatment. The attachment's have to fit perfectly in the raised areas of retainer. If they are placed on teeth in the slightly wrong spot they will be tighter and or when you bite down they may pop them off. They also use strips to open up very small amounts of space according to your specific treatment. The dentist is sent instruction's on the exact areas open up with each new tray. .

You stick it to the brackets and it prevents any sores or discomfort, plus it's completely natural, so no worries if you swallow it.

I’m doing Invisalign at the moment too!!! It’s so interesting how different the way your dentist is doing the treatment but also my experience is very different. I was having the treatment because I clench my teeth so hard because of anxiety - that it was putting so much pressure on my teeth, that I actually had to have a root canal in one of my top front teeth because of the trauma of constant clenching. So I had to do Invisalign to save the other front teeth and change the front contact points.
I had some of the stones pop off on my first night too. My dentist put them back on 2 days later. Then one on my front tooth popped off again and my dentist replaced it at 4 weeks in. Then finally they all stayed stuck on. I had a lot of pressure and pain in those first 2 weeks, but no cuts or mouth sores. The dentist didn’t give me a file to shave down the edges of the aligners or anything and I actually didn’t feel like I needed to. They all fit nicely and didn’t have any uncomfortable rubbing or stabbing.
I’m at week 15 now and my treatment has been extended for sure, as my bottom teeth haven’t moved as much as we had hoped. So they will order some extra aligners for me and I will continue treatment longer than expected at no extra cost.
I think my came in £1000 cheaper than yours. They do 2 prices in the Uk - if it’s under 14 aligners it’s £2500 and it it’s above 18 aligners it’s £3500. And that’s 18 and above - no limit at all. So you could need 45 aligners and it would still be £3500.
I hope its all settled down Maria! It will work out I’m sure. Sending you lots of love xx

I had clear braces on top and regular metal ones on the bottom and changed up the colors on the bottom every visit. I had bad crowding because of a small jaw and a slight overbite as well. I now wear an Essix retainer every night while I sleep. Plus I have severe asthma requiring daily steroids. I can’t wait to have a nice bright smile again. Keep up the good work Maria but make sure your dentist is looking after you properly. 😘

Your whistling "S" is one of the main sounds I love in your ASMR videos. I really hope it does not permanently get rid of it for you. A sharp "S" is the key to my tingles. I'll bet I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Invisalign worked out well for my brother but it was a nightmare for me personally 😔 It took me 5 years (!) of treatment to fix a minor crowding issue that could have been fixed in a year tops with regular braces. Each time I reached the last tray it was discovered I needed a “refinement” because oh look, no more crowding but now you have dark triangle gaps. Then, uh oh, the gaps are now closed but it seems to have pushed one of your molars down so now you need rubber bands to bring it back up. And last but not least, the 2 front teeth still have a slight gap that may never close, so let’s just tighten everything up one last time. Holy moly... if I had just gone with regular braces, these adjustments could’ve been made at any point without worrying about completing the full course or waiting on the next round from the Invisalign lab. And the whole ordeal of taking teeth moulds each time, and filing the buttons down, and reapplying different buttons... Sorry to be such a negative Nancy but maybe this info can help someone make a more informed decision 😔

Very informative video! I am 30 and am getting tmj treatment (jaw pain issues) i am wearing a mouth guard to get my jaw back in place. The tightness the first few days were awful. I do have to eat with the bottom mouth guard, it is gross to feel food get in there or certain drinks, but kinda used to it (i rinse immediately after lol) i have crooked teeth and a crossbite, I may do braces after...not looking forward to all the discomfort but i would like a good bite and nice teeth. PS you still had a beautiful smile!

I had Invisalign for a year & so glad I did it! I did get the mouth sores like you in the beginning but it only happened in the first couple weeks when my mouth was getting use to it. Sounds like they didn’t do a great job when they printed them out. Best of luck! You’re gonna be amazed at the end!! :)

Hey Maria! ❤️ I love your videos and I am a huge fan, just thought I’d give some in sight about refilling the plastic water bottle, although it is more efficient and saves money, refilling the same bottle especially for 2-3 can cause the plastic to eventually break down and get into your water and at that point you would be taking that into your body which can cause health problems.

Hi Maria!! I did Invisalign for a few years! The attachments are used as pressure points and are placed in trouble spots so your teeth can move! The pain might get worse some weeks due to the changing of trays as well as you progressing through the treatment plan. Also the plastic might be getting stained, it happened to me too! Hope the process goes well for you, and I love your content!

Listening to this brings back all the pains my daughter had with her braces... With braces they give you a wax, but she still had so many sores. I did learn that anytime we had adjustments to make sure we had soft foods available for a few days after them because of the pain she was in afterward.

(Invisalign user from UK) Maria! I am so sad you’ve had such a rubbish start to Invisalign. I’m a week in and i’m hopefully about to go onto my second tray and i’m getting on really well with them, however i only have a couple teeth that need moving. I agree, taking them out and putting them back in is the worst pain. To clean your retainer once a week, my orthodontist gave me these tablets to clean them, you can just use denture cleaner, or milton and it only needs 15 mins - this takes off the yellowish stains. You shouldnt be putting anything in your mouth other than water with your retainer in! So definitely stop this completely. I’m glad you feel a lot better now. I get free teeth whitening and a fixed permanent brace at the end of my treatment, with what you paid i would hope you get that too! Cant wait for the next update. Here for any questions for anyone?

At the end they’ll give you tray retainers to wear at night. I went through Invisalign recently. They didn’t turn out as straight as I would have liked. I sort of wish I would have done braces, but I’m in my 30’s as well and didn’t want to have braces. Good luck!

i had invisalign when i was in 7th grade for 18 months, and i gotta say i did not have to do all of the stuff that you did. i had the little “bumpers” on my teeth, but i didn’t have to put bands in or anything like that. i would say for me, it hurt for the first couple of days after the very first tray, and then after that it really didn’t hurt that much anymore, so i’m sorry you’re having so much trouble with everything:( it sounds like a more laborious process for you.
if anyone wants tips, the best thing i would say is to BRUSH THE TRAYS! i know they tell you to brush the trays so they’re not dirty (obviously) but seriously brush them as often as you can. for me, the more i brushed the trays, the less yellow my actual teeth were.
and yeah, dont eat/drink anything besides water with them in.
also, don’t accidentally throw away a pair of trays like i did🥲
maria, if you see this, i love you and your videos!

Maria - you could definitely consider getting permanent retainers if you’re worried about your teeth shifting after you finish Invisalign! I had braces years ago but wasn’t consistent with my retainers afterwards, so now I’m thinking about doing Invisalign and getting permanent retainers to both avoid the hassle of a nighttime retainer while preventing my teeth from shifting again. Might be worth looking into!

My Invisalign experience has been very good so far. I have crowded teeth, 18 months program, over 4k euro. I wearr my aligners 21 - 22 hours as recommended. If you skip on wearing them for too long the next aligner my not fit as well as it should hence the pain. I have zero problems with my teeth getting yellow or discoloured. I clean and floss them after each meal. If I am outland about I floss them and flush them with water or mouthwash and put them on as soon as possible.

For anyone getting braces or thinking about it. These are my recommendations. Take a pain reliever before every new tray or tightening. Its easier to prevent pain than to treat it. To prevent mouth sores pick up wax. It'll keep your mouth from getting torn up. Pick up a water pick for regular braces. carry a travel toothbrush for eating on the go. Its important to keep them babies clean. Its all worth it in the end. You will have to wear a retainer for about 6 months nearly all day. Then a retainer nightly for probably the rest of your life. Even one day without my retainer causes discomfort for me and its been 6+ years since my braces came off. 🙃 But straight teeth takes work.

I’m in my 6th month and I am really seeing a big difference. Our experiences are very similar. I was in pain the first 4 days. Then I remembered that my son had some dental wax left from his braces -why doesn’t the orthodontist tell us about wax???!! I also cut off the hooks on the top front since I don’t have rubberbands. Much better! I hate having plastic in my mouth, but It will be worth it. Hope all goes well for you.

maria i got my train tracks off in november and first with the retainers they recommend you wear it 16 hours a day for me personally and then move to nights only, my friend had invisalign and a similar situation so don't worry about them shifting when you finish the programme, as long as you have the discipline to wear the retainer there should me no issue :))

Good luck on your journey and I hope things get easier for you! Best to you, Daryl, and Mila ❤️

Fillings popping out is more likely to be a sign of good general health and consequent good dental health because it's usually caused by natural teeth remineralisation, making the fillings redundant. You probably didn't need them; they were just a way for the dentist to make more money. You should check out holistic +/or naturopathic dental care. Most dentistry is medieval in its conception of how teeth function; for instance very few seem to know, or perhaps more pertinently admit, that teeth in a healthy body, or given a few days grace of low-acid-forming food and/or fasting periods, will remineralise naturally, ie regrow pulp and dentine, even enamel if caught early enough. Teeth are living things, and demineralise during meals and in contact with sweetened drinks, which can lead to decay, but recover rapidly with sleep, fasting, raw veg/salad+fruit, nuts, etc. Fillings popping out is what many natural health practitioners actively work towards! :)

I remember going through invisalign when I was 16, it was definitely painful every new tray. I got the mouth sores and tongue cuts too! My trays always got beat up too because I grind my teeth at night lol. I'm 33 now and lost my retainer ages ago. While I'm sure my teeth have shifted some, I'm still really happy with the way they look, and I think they're pretty straight. It seems like once they got into that better alignment they aren't shifting so bad. I hope it gets easier for you and congrats on the journey to better dental health!

This is giving me PTSD from my teenage years with braces... I had them for THREE years, bottom and top with the elastics on each side! Then after those three years I still had to wear a retainer for my teeth not to shift, and also sleep with it in to fix the placement of my jaw (which is still messed up) for more than a year. Oh, and I had to remove 4 teeth initially because I didn't even have room for them in my mouth >< I still have lots of scars inside my cheeks from the braces, and the pain was real...I will never forget. So sorry you have to go through this, it really sucks
