In the lords supper we look upward to God, backwards to Calvary, forward to his coming, inward to ourselves, and outward to each other. - Robby Eversole

Thank you for validating my feelings. I spoke against it on Facebook and was criticized, but I think of the song "I'll be a Friend to Jesus". You would not let someone talk about your family that way and we should not allow this towards Jesus

@omargarcia1904 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. (Romans 1:21-28, ESV)

Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

    Dear Brother Don,
Thank you for talking about this heartbreaking event. But I've been thinking, as a christian, about not supporting the Olympics for other reasons, as well. Every opening and closing ceremony praises and honors Greek gods and goddesses. They are literally performing pagan rituals at these events, and all the athletes are taking part in the pagan rituals (whether they understand they are doing so, or not). Should christians be supportive of pagan religious ceremonies? Also, the immodesty in many of the sports categories is heartbreaking, too. Do "sports activities" make immodesty ok for christians to support and/or participate in? These are all things that seem to have crept into christians' lives and have been made allowable. 💔
I am so appreciative that you have been addressing some of these serious topics. It is comforting to know that men in the church are seeing these dangers and warning the flock. Thank you!!!

I agree with you. I stopped watching the Olympics after I became a Christian a few years ago, in fact, I stopped watching TV altogether. I just can’t sit there and take the continuous blasphemy of the Lord’s name, cursing, sexually immoral things being normalized. I’m thankful for platforms like RUclips where I can watch programs like this and others that edify, and I am happy to be out of the world of mass media and worldly entertainment. If the world approves of it, or pushes it upon the masses, we must question it.

@@omxtrician Actually yes- I don’t read the newspaper or watch “the news”, since anything relevant to my life I can get from my subscribed Christian outlets on RUclips. I got rid of my Facebook account not long after I became a Christian a few years ago because there were just too many photos and posts that I had on my profile that did not reflect my newfound life as a Christian. I can tell you my life is so much more peaceful and joyful without those mass media outlets taking up my time. I didn’t need them in my life at all, and I’m a much more productive person now - and I find a lot more time in my day to listen to, read, and study scripture, as well as listen to edifying shows like this. Also more time to be with my family and aging mother, and learn new hobbies in my spare time, which has been a blessing. I don’t listen to the radio or secular music anymore- but I love listening to classical music and a cappella hymns that I have on my playlist. Thank you for asking.

We know there was a lord's supper because the bible tells us so.
The famous lord's supper painting is just a painting, a piece of art. The painter of that piece wasn't even at the actual lord's supper. So we know that painting isn't accurate.
It's no difference then the blue-eyed, long hair painting of Jesus being accurate.
Let's stop idolizing these pieces of art and just continue to stick to the scriptures.

It is no surprise. We talk about it to promote holiness, to point out wickedness, and to express our emotions in the matter. To say nothing would deny the bearing of burdens we can offer one another when hurt by the world's sinful display.

@@kent7057, that’s a great way to look at that. I guess I’m so jaded by it all that it makes me angry when Christians seem surprised to discover that there’s an ancient spiritual war raging, and the spoils of this war are our eternal souls.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16 but if anyone suffers as , he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? 19 Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
