14:08 Back in Beta 1.5, when they'd first added lightning, I had just finished building an entirely wooden house... with a glass roof. I'd left to go fetch my friend to show them, and in the middle of the tour, a thunderstorm started, and lighting struck right through my roof. The fire damage was devastating and it spread so fast, that all we could do was narrowly escape with my dog, and the whole house was unsalvageable. I have... not played with firespread enabled much since, to say the least, gahaha. This totally reminded me of that, though- I thought I was crazy for thinking fire spread used to be so fast and devastating. You can see it in the video here, but blocks remained "hot" and even putting out the flames didn't guarantee anything, because the fires could still relight. Seriously though, great video!
With the bit about bedrock skulls, I find it super weird you didn't mention the VERY explicitly shaped human face right above the Wither one you showed. It even has hair and everything! o.o
@@Tokito935 nope, you can still play the old Xbox One Edition instead of the new Minecraft Bedrock if you have previously downloaded it or have a physical disk
I think the reason for the “south-east rule” is due to the fact that south and East are positive on the x and z coordinates. Also, facing south is “0” in horizontal direction
honestly a lot of these iceberg things are just bugs or quirks that arise naturally from simple stuff like that. they're cool, but at the end of the day there's no meaning to them beyond "someone forgot to initialize a variable" or something like that
That prismarine one assured me that I'm not insane, thank you. I'm helping a friend with a Guardian Spawner project that involves some pretty heavy duty terraforming of the area around an ocean monument. Sometimes when I'm working in there I swear the prismarine blocks look more green than blue, and it's good to know that there's a reason behind that.
I remember when the update came out that brought prismarine and after looking at it for a bit I noticed it was changing colours and I was like “holy shit the block changes”
i remember i drained an ocean monument to make a town hall with my friends, back when they were first added. when he pointed it out we both just stared at the wall for like 5 mins
I don't know if anyone else saw this but I saw a sick looking smushed steve face right above the bedrock wither skull. Now I can't unsee either of them, lol
*Some notes to consider:* The bedrock texture is a high saturation variant of the *pre 1.14* stone texture, but you're showing the new stone texture in the video. While the stone texture has been updated in 1.14, the bedrock texture hasn't. Same with the endstone&cobblestone texture, but yes, the old endstone texture is just an inverted (old) cobblestone texture. The bedrock and stone textures are randomly mirrored (both verticaly and horisontaly), depending on what coordinate they're on. This makes it very unlikely that the wither face is intentional. There are other textures that are randomly rotated depending on their coordinates, such as: the grass block top, the clay, and the sand texture.
They did update the bedrock texture, but it's no longer a high contrast version of updated stone. Instead, the retexture is just based off it's old bedrock texture.
17:30 so due to a glitch on my family's realm, I had lost everything in my inventory so they decided to give it back to me, one of these was a potion. When they tried to give me back my potions they instead appeared as Uncraftable Potion. They are now hang above my bed on the realm.
Jungle and swamp villagers aren’t unused. You can still get them by breeding villagers in those biomes. The purpose of those outfits are just for completionists to collect as mentioned by Mojang themselves in one of their Village and Pillage videos on their RUclips channel.
18:01 They are called that way, because in earlier versions you could get "smooth stone" by placing a double slab (depending on the id, different versions) via command. The block would have the bottom texture of the old stone slab, which was smooth. Going by that idea, the smooth stone brick etc use the bottom texture of their corresponding slab.
I recall the “tornado” and “glyphs” textures being on the Painterly Pack website. I think they were actually in the game at one point, but unused. Painterly Pack referred to them as Chiselled Sandstone #1 and #2

I once got the Update block in my world. I'm on bedrock btw. The first time skulk came out, I immediately built a house out of skulk blocks. It was in the middle of a town I was building. Looking back at the bedrock skulls I may have an explanation for it. Block Textures in Minecraft, at least when viewed from the top or bottom, don’t share the same orientation. Taking a closer look at bedrock shows that the skull pattern is in random locations but what those locations all have in common is that they cover four bordering corners of bedrock blocks. Taking an even closer look shows that sometimes only part of a bedrock skull is visible meaning that, again since the skulls are part of corners, the full skull is the result of corners of four bordering bedrock textures coincidentally bordering each in the right orientation that makes it look like a skull. Something similar happens with grass blocks where the top grass pattern may sometimes form tiny “stars” from connecting corners of grass textures. So the bedrock skulls (like the grass stars) are unintentional and don’t serve any purpose or reason. I swear to god if someone says tl;dr…
Finally, someone talked about Minecraft Story Mode's disappearance! I played and finished Season 1 around this time last year and was very disappointed when I couldn't find Season 2 anywhere.
19:26 Back in 1.12, I played with a mod called Bewitchment (now called Bewitchment:Legacy.) which featured a charm the player can equip which gave them the luck potion effect. This effect objectively increased the rate of more valuable spawns such as gold and diamonds in chests, and I used that thing everywhere. Luck DOES in fact affect the player even as far back as 1.12.
One thing to note: Chiseled stone bricks are ONLY found in jungle temples naturally, not in strongholds. In addition, they come from a time where the only chiseled block other than itself depicted a creeper within the desert temple, which was to make reference to heiroglyphs. It likely has no meaning at all and its texture is a relic of a simpler time.
to me it seemed like the skull was wearing Steve's head as a little hat .. which defently made it creepier for me I dont wanna think about either skeletons ripping the skin of your head and wearing it . these fucked up

The cave sounds mixed with a feeling of just you in a strange world, makes everything paranoic and a bizarre enviroment, even more in far lands Far lands give you the sensation of "How you are here? Get out bro" and the massive lag (gravel and sand), make this stronger
Regarding the 0 seed: the seed "creashaks organzine" also leads to 0, as shown by ibxtoycat. His comments section turned it into a meme, such as player getting Creashaks Organzine as a test score.
5:53 on the topic of the Jungle and Swamp villages being unused, when Grian tried making his own Swamp and Jungle villages he realized the Illagers struggle with pathfinding in those biomes, which is likely why they were removed or never added.
I’m unsure that anyone remembers this, but I’m gonna say it anyway since I saw it with my own eyes. Back in the older days, there was a secret splash text that could be accessed if you went to a certain server. That server was Kuleland. After you exit the server, if you go back to the title screen, the splash text will say something like “Merry Christmas From Kuleland!”. When I first saw this, I was in shock. How can a server do that? If anyone has experienced anything like this, let me know. I think it would make a fine edition to any iceberg.
I think that was a thing, I kinda remember it a bit but it was hypixel I'm not sure tho, splash text can show player name right? (I just notice this was a year ago.. damn)
im pretty sure that the jungle and swamp villages were scrapped due to the terrain. In swamps, pillagers move extremely slowly making raids extremely easy to defend from and in jungles, the terrain is so cluttered that the pillager ai would consistently lose line of sight to the villages.
when i see early dev minecraft gameplay and screenshots, it makes me think of how crazy different games that are in development today are gonna look in a few years
I managed to obtain the „update!“-block by moving chests while trying to make a double piston. I guess it was created because I had another chest there, which had a „connected“-tag, while the „piston“ chest was moved. I may still have the world somewhere.
Hey, could you please reply to me so I remember to look at your name once I'm on PC so I can see it cross over into my recommended videos, like the other guy experianced? I'm on mobile right now and I want to see your name stretching across my screen, too.
I'd like to mention that swamp/jungle villagers can actually spawn in normal Minecraft without commands or anything. I've seen it myself, albeit only once or twice in the Bedrock Edition, due to a village spawning very close to a swamp, causing 2-3 of the villagers to wear their swamp clothing. So not technically unused or anything, just very uncommon. Also in regards to Deadmau5, it would seem that his ears may have been removed at some point, as in one of CaptainSparklez's Vault Hunters streams, the Deadmau5 skin didn't have the ears. Whether or not this is because of the mods used or the actual skin, I don't know, but I thought I'd at least mention it. For the hieroglyphs, I believe the ones shown are Steve/Alex, a creeper, and eye (probably an eye of ender), and a nether portal. The bedrock skulls are the result of, what I assume is two blocks of bedrock that generated next to each other with the texture mirrored, which resulted in a face appearing. I would say it's a coincidence, however, the "head" around it is exactly 8 pixels wide, the same as a Minecraft skin, which is enough for me to think it's more intentional than coincidental. Overall, great video man, keep up the good work. Also, let's hear about that raven story.
I built a jungle and a swamp village and imported villagers through the nether. Spawning is a bit wonky, I believe 50% based on the biome they spawn in and 25% for the biome of each of the parents. After getting 2 swamp or jungle villagers I killed the original settlers and continued to breed the descendants and now I have 2 large villages of swamp and jungle villagers. While these type of villagers don't really spawn on their own you can basically get them to appear through breeding.
deadmau5 skin only appears on accounts named deadmau5. it's in the code, so that way no one else can use the skin unless someone hacked the deadmau5 account.
I remember Minecraft education edition. My first experience with it was in middle school when I first got a laptop from a school. I’m guessing they had an idea to include it in school work of some sort, but was ultimately unfortunately banned in my school due to other kids my age abusing it and it not showing very much promise. Regardless it is a very interesting topic.
5:51 in experimental mode, jungle villagers are naturally spawned (in bedrock atleast), meaning that it is possible that they will be added to the game!
10:32 Terracotta Pattern on the outside walls. The symbol meaning life encompasses the chiseled sandstone which has the creeper face. When the life of a creeper is taken it drops gunpowder which can be used to make TNT. With the symbol also looking vaguely like a downward arrow I can only assume it’s just a forwarning about the trap.
Once my little sister burnt down an entire woodland mansion by accident. I was mad at her for a little while because I wasn’t done in there! The rain finally put it out, but the mansion was ruined. XD

Don't worry you're not missing out on anything worth your time
@@Memu_ yeah you are lol
I played season one on Netflix, it was good
I have the Disk version of it on Xbox one. But it only had the first season if I remember correctly
Still available on steam unlocked

Back in 1.12, I played with a mod called Bewitchment (now called Bewitchment:Legacy.) which featured a charm the player can equip which gave them the luck potion effect. This effect objectively increased the rate of more valuable spawns such as gold and diamonds in chests, and I used that thing everywhere. Luck DOES in fact affect the player even as far back as 1.12.
Wait a a second... 1.12 is far back? What Minecraft version is the most recent one? I last played it from v 1.6 - v 1.8
1.17 (1.18 currently being developed)

When you said, "as far back as 1.12" I felt old
One thing to note: Chiseled stone bricks are ONLY found in jungle temples naturally, not in strongholds. In addition, they come from a time where the only chiseled block other than itself depicted a creeper within the desert temple, which was to make reference to heiroglyphs. It likely has no meaning at all and its texture is a relic of a simpler time.
Everybody is talking about the raven but here i am still haunted by bedrock faces.
And you could also see above the wither skulls a creepy eye its very hard to notice it.
If you look closely there is an half enderman face
to me it seemed like the skull was wearing Steve's head as a little hat .. which defently made it creepier for me
I dont wanna think about either skeletons ripping the skin of your head and wearing it . these fucked up
@@CrimsonAkato well at least it would've put you to sleep LOL
The jungle and swamp villager skins where actually something mojang added to encourage players to build their own villages.

9:27 I've seen that room before. It resembles a dragon egg, but when i broke into it, it had a diamond block inside of it. Perhaps the lava encased in glass is also to keep valuables safe?
The cave sounds mixed with a feeling of just you in a strange world, makes everything paranoic and a bizarre enviroment, even more in far lands

"Hey babe, wake up, new Minecraft iceberg just dropped."
5:53 on the topic of the Jungle and Swamp villages being unused, when Grian tried making his own Swamp and Jungle villages he realized the Illagers struggle with pathfinding in those biomes, which is likely why they were removed or never added.
Pixlriffs had the same problem when he built his own custom village in one of those biomes!
"We have completed the Minecraft iceberg trilogy" Boy were you wrong.
I think that was a thing, I kinda remember it a bit but it was hypixel
I'm not sure tho, splash text can show player name right?
(I just notice this was a year ago.. damn)
The text said Merry Christmas from (whatever server u went to i guess)

im pretty sure that the jungle and swamp villages were scrapped due to the terrain. In swamps, pillagers move extremely slowly making raids extremely easy to defend from and in jungles, the terrain is so cluttered that the pillager ai would consistently lose line of sight to the villages.

Also, let's hear about that raven story.
and finding zombie villagers in that biome in java, then curing them
I built a jungle and a swamp village and imported villagers through the nether.
I was going to mention the jungle/swamp villager thing because I’ve seen it myself, does it only occur in bedrock
deadmau5 skin only appears on accounts named deadmau5. it's in the code, so that way no one else can use the skin unless someone hacked the deadmau5 account.
@@insertstockimage725It is in java too, as long as a village spawned so close to swamp/jungle that parts of it is in those biomes
I would see the continue of "Raven is watching"

5:51 in experimental mode, jungle villagers are naturally spawned (in bedrock atleast), meaning that it is possible that they will be added to the game!
i stumbled upon a swamp villager living next to a plain villager
one time in bedrock i had a village that was in the plain and swamp bioma at once . It was really weird bc. half of the villager were swamp villagers

The symbol meaning life encompasses the chiseled sandstone which has the creeper face. When the life of a creeper is taken it drops gunpowder which can be used to make TNT. With the symbol also looking vaguely like a downward arrow I can only assume it’s just a forwarning about the trap.
