You literally have a store at your disposal as well you should since you make journals for a living or hobby not sure I'm new here. I too have to have everything out organized where I can see it. Mine however has to be clear closed so the dust doesn't get in. Love the hanging lace but I wouldn't do it unless it was enclosed away from dust that's just me. Thank you for the tour. I hope you realize that you have a hoard beyond your lifespan I say that lovingly. I recently came to the same conclusion with my junk journal supplies and I'm deatashing and reducing my supplies daily. I became ill and disabled and it was eye opening. So I'm more realistic now of what I will use up and what I've outgrown. I too got rid of a lot of books and taking a second look at what I have and cutting out more.
Oh yes Vivian, I agree with my whole heart. I am like a dragon sleeping on a pile of gold. I was a scrapbook maker all those years ago when it was so popular and have many things, including paper left from that - plus what I have collected and I have older friends who continue to give me things that they are trying now to get rid of. I hate for it to go to the landfill! I do realize I have a limited time to create and perhaps it will eventually end up there, but that would make me sad. I also continue to reduce and share and yes, recycle as I can. Welcome to my channel today and thank you for your thoughts…
I love how you have surrounded yourself with things that inspire you as you create. I love vintage things, too, and have added a lot to my craft room. I'm so glad that Cara is doing this collaboration! It's inspired me to do some organizing, and I am picking up some great tips!
@@lornabee309 Oh hooray Lorna! I’m glad you are taking the challenge. I did this challenge two (or three) years ago and it completely changed things for me. It took a lot of thought then, but so worth it and it has actually worked well for me all this time. Thanks so much for watching.
I am in the middle of de-cluttering my books as well. I am getting rid of a lot that I haven't looked at in a long time. I need the space so I can sort my art books by subject and easily find things... so that I don't buy duplicates.
Thank you! I am inspired! My studio is similar in many ways … I sell and teach classes under the name Fringeship Studio, so I’m definitely going to use your idea of the tassel fringe around the edge of your table. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the updated room tour! I live in a small log cabin-style home with only one bedroom. There is no additional room where I can set up a studio so my crafting space and storage areas need to fit in with the rest of the house and be asthetically pleasing. I really appreciate seeing the ways other people do that such as your use of real peices of furniture as well as the way you've made your new wire shelving unit on wheels look good. Even the filing cabinet looks great. It's also useful to hear how others sort their supplies. We don't all do it the same way and sometimes I get a real lightbulb moment listening to someone else. Lest I sound like I'm complaining about the size of my house, I should say I love it, deliberately chose a smaller home, and do not plan to purchase a larger one, lol.
I admire your deliberated choice! …and sometimes limiting circumstances also help with creativity and certainly it helps make a smaller footprint. Kudos! Thanks so much for your encouragement CP - and for your steady support of me.
I love all the steampunk ephemera. I’m new to JJ but love steampunk! I’m starting with ephemera like tags and index cards. I have a couple of small single signature journals that I bought off Etsy. Baby steps. I’m setting aside the steampunk stuff as I find it to start one of these small journals. I actually made my first junk journal 📔 for JJ January. It’s a bit of a beginner project. Gotta start small so as not to get overwhelmed. I was feeling very inadequate watching videos with handmade multi signature journals and hardcover gutted books! I’m finding my groove and making small goals. MM 2025 52 week prompt, and Shanouki arts full deck challenge are my focus now. I think I will start one of the small journals, maybe the steampunk and do it a page at a time at my own pace. I really enjoy watching you and plan to use your steampunk projects for inspiration! Thanks Kathleen😊
@@juliebey8240 I’m so glad you’ve begun to make journals Julie! I think junk journals are just so accessible, even to beginners, but it can seem intimidating at first. Kathleen: that black metal cart you put together seems to do a lot for you. Was that a K/D item from a hardware store? You really utilized every space on that rolling cart. That really impressed me. I’m not a person that buys bins and more bins to store stuff. If that happens, it seems like one never gets back to the bins. It seems to me you are doing a super job of organizing your tools and materials for your business. Being organized is an important element for creating. Something that usually is discovered sooner than later by all crafters. Carol from California
@@caroltanzi29 Thanks so much for coming by Carol! Both carts are pretty new, but I so desperately needed a little more available horizontal space that I thought it will be worth moving them around. I really like having a little more space to divide the vintage ephemera. Organizing all this stuff is such a trial for us, isn’t it? and never ending…
What a great space, Kathleen! I love it! What is the ribbon attached to? I really like that idea! Also, where do you get the pouches that you presort your paper into? Those look handy!
Thank you Jennilee! I’m glad you enjoyed seeing my space. I just thread several of the ribbons together on a safety pin and then hang them in bunches on an unfolded paper clip around the curtain rod. The lace gets the same treatment, but I also use some of the tiny bulldog clips because the lace has a better grip under the metal clip and it’s easier than a safety pin to add to it. The plastic envelopes are just from Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook storage aisle. Thank you for coming by this morning!

Kathleen I love your creative haven, friend you inspire me with every video. I believe we are kindred spirits ❤… your special place reminds me so much of my own. We are both very blessed. Sending LUVnHUGZ, Rita Donnelly.
@@GmaReezScrapShack Awww Rita! That’s so kind - we are definitely kindred spirits, and I appreciate that. I agree that we are exceptionally blessed. Thanks so much for coming by!
You have a really amazing work space!! I’m impressed with all of your organizing systems. I am hoping to reorganize my studio space this year…finally! But it’s a major overhaul, as I want to change rooms, and both room have a tremendous amount of “stuff” inside right now. I know I need to do a lot of decluttering, which is why I keep putting things off. Wish me luck! 😃
@@elainet5870 I DO wish you luck Elaine! It really is such a big job and it takes a lot of time, but the decluttering is worth it and I testify to that. Thanks so much for coming by! Keep me posted on your own project!
Perfect timing! I have just started my organization project and am glad to see how you have organized your studio. It's very creative and matches my eclectic style. Thank you for sharing your workspace!

Its wonderful to see how you organize all your things! Your talent is amazing! The one thing that gave me a chuckle though was your sprayed spam can! Do people really eat that still? Hah! You are as lovely as your talent! Sincerely Carol in freezing IL!
@@mikegoulet7883 Haha - yes, I still eat Spam occasionally! It reminds me of my mom - she cooked it a dozen different ways. Thanks so much for the lovely compliments -bundle up!
Hello Mrs mower how are you, I hope you are doing well, studio tours videos are my favourite type of videos because its really exciting to see the place where you unleash all your creativity at , so Thank you so much for doing this lovely studio tour video! :D

What a gorgeous space. Thanks for the tour!
My pleasure Savannah! Thank you for watching.
Awesome place to play! Great job

@@SusansColorfulExpressions It has to be done, right? Pat on the back Susan!

Thank you! Going try some of these things amazing 🥳
@@rachelodom6799 Oh I’m so glad to hear this Rachel! Good luck - I hope it helps.
Just learning what the words mean can be tough, haha. You have good instincts to begin with small journals and you’ll be an expert in no time. Thanks for coming by! I appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you so much ❤Paper crafting is so messy and hard to organize 😅

Your room is beautiful! I love both the way it’s decorated and organized. Great ideas!
@@dakielty Aww - thank you so much Dorothy! I’m so glad you came by to watch.
