  • Lots of people ask how big an attachment they can fit on these tractors. I think that defeats the purpose of having a little tractor. These are the jobs they accel in, no bigger tractors could have pulled this job off and the 1 series is far better than a garden tractor with a loader, as the ergonomics of the 1 series is superior to garden tractors for "real tractor" work.

Great video! But you need to keep loader closer to the ground. That will make the tractor a little more stable. I too have a 1023e.

Most trips were lower to the ground, but also most trips had a larger load than that one too. I will admit to being more camera concerned on that trip than load concerned if that makes any sense. Larger loads also just force you to keep lower to the ground. Thanks for watching.

With inches to spare and the tight part of the backyard, it was the perfect tool. Thanks for watching David.

Great overview of what this size machine is built for. Yeah, they can do smaller and larger jobs, but it may be clumsy or too slow. They are perfect for mid size jobs like this.

Small tires for a small job :) Probably keeping the bucket as low as possible to keep the weight lower would help with tipy-ness. I know it's hard to keep it low because that changes the angle and is harder to keep dirt from falling out.

The bucket was kept pretty low most of the time except right before being dumped and also going through the gate, as I needed to see the reference points on the bucket to not plow through the wooden uprights, as you can see, I did nick one side. Any side angle or roll angle left the tractor almost too big to go through it, I had to position it just right every time, especially with the bumpy yard, but it worked out pretty good, got nearly all the "big dirt" before the rain. He just had to do the clean up the next day. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Walter, it is a kind of last minute decision to shoot the video. Kind of thought it was a good opportunity to highlight the unique use of these smaller tractors. Thanks for watching as always.

I like watching your vids on the 1023e I think it’s nice you should do a video just starting it up and going over it and stuff

Smaller machines do less at a time than their larger counterparts with the tradeoff of being able to access areas larger machines cannot. I think being driven by practicality and utility rather than ego when shopping for a machine or choosing attachments is prudent.

Yes, that is a good way to put it Thomas, thanks for watching.
