Store the mower deck on a pallet. The mower blades and spindles get pitted out and rust very quickly when sitting on the ground. Even when they are on concrete. I use the load and go ramps to put the deck on a pallet on blocks and cover with a tarp.

The JD 3rd function on the 120R loader on my 2025R are much more integrated. Valve is under floor board with the other valves. Hyd lines on the loader are hard.
I have a stack of pallets that I park the forks in the bottom and sit my bucket on top. I can easily drive into the tool I need. A local grave monument business sets free pallets out by their drive every week or two.

We have really been happy with ours! Had it about a year now. You would like the load and go brackets for the mower deck especially when it comes time to service the mower deck. The thing I really like about the 1025R when you have the drive over mower deck is how fast and easy it is to reconfigure for different tasks. I mow my grass and then quickly drop the mower deck and use a box blade to prep a small dirt oval race track for RC cars.

For what it's worth I work for a jd dealership in s TX. I bought a 1025R about 5 months ago (already have over 100 hrs on it) and installed my own 3rd function valve over my lunch breaks. While I did have to take most of the operators station apart only took me about 5 hours and was my first install. JD third function. Just wait. The machine is a real back saver.

I’ve had a 1026 R since 2012. I’m a heavy equipment operator. It takes a little time to get used to it with the little tractor that I call a souped up lawnmower can really get the job done if you know what your doing.

Really interesting. I've never been in the market for a tractor of any kind and I've sometimes questioned if one would be really needed on a small farm. I can see how this will be very helpful for you and that you have a good understanding of its workings and potential. :) Another good video.

I would advise you to buy the after market adapter for your lawn mower. This way you can use your bucket hoist to pick up your belly mower. No manual physical use of your own. Just the tractor. $ well spent. You can store the mower upright. Easy way clean, work on deck and change or sharpen blades.

I’m really enjoying mine. A few complaints:
Wish the loader capacity was higher. My front forks max-out too often. I probably should have bought the 36”x3” forks rather than the 42”x4” forks. The Titan 42” forks with the headache bar is 300 lbs. so that cuts into the total lifting capacity.
Hydraulic flow rate limits it to single function at a time; can’t really lift and curl the loader at the same time for instance which is jerky and not smooth. I’m pondering upgrading the hydraulic flow pump to a higher rate which voids the warranty, but mine’s a 2016 so that’s moot anyways. Might get bigger front hydraulic cylinders to lift more. Both are $2k for parts alone.
Attaching the tiller’s PTO is a bear
I have to jump the seat switch to use my rear 3-point chipper off the tractor. That’s counterintuitive. Weird huh?
    Diesel is ridiculously expensive!
The tractor is not as maneuverable or as fast as a zero turn mower, but it works. I wish there was an easy attachment for collecting grass clippings.
I wish the loader tilted for grading. Most rear blades don’t tilt either.
Otherwise it’s a real game changer!

If you press a switch and it changes what is operated by your loader scv….in order to operate a hydraulic function…then you have a diverter kit. That looks like an electrical solenoid to divert flow. If you can operate the third function at the same time as all of your normal SCV operation….that’s a true third function. Diverter systems are actually a lot better for this machine because it has such low flow…that it doesn’t do more than one function, at a time, very well. It’s a different story on larger machines with considerably more flow volume and speed. Also, there are really no loader augers that work with the super slow 4gpm flow rate of a 1025R. They are also very heavy and it will be hard for the tractor to lift the auger up while is drilling down. Like you, my pallet forks are used a ton. The pallet forks and my grapple are the most used tools I have. I just sold my MMM. It’s just not a good value. For you, I think it’s awesome. The mower deck is very deep and will handle all that stuff with ease. The 60D is awesome because you can use wheel spacers with it. Get the Mulch kit for it. It actually cuts better and chips stuff up extremely small.

    • @CoramDeoFarm
      @CoramDeoFarm  2 года назад

This is what they installed - is a true third function as far as I can read. www.wrlonginc.com/vk12-vk20. Says you can operate loader functions at the same time. I have the rocker switch now and while I don't have anything yet to use, I can hear it engage when I rock the switch. You are probably right about the auger - thought I saw a few tiny ones that would work and I've read terrible stories about PTO mounted augers - will probably just rent a machine for auger work at some point. Good point on the mulch kit - I was thinking about that when mowing the other day - tired of managing where the tall grass "shoots" every time I mow, especially as our farm grows - don't want to be shooting grass on top of the landscape fabric growing zones. Looks like out of stock at john deere right now.

First thing to understand! This is not an industrial piece of equipment! I have had mine for 7 years. It has done some pretty amazing things. It has also struggled to accomplish others. If you have the time to allow the machine to do the work, it will be a very good unit for you. I have the tiller, rake, forks, backhoe and mower deck. The capacity of the loader is probably best in its class. I think it will serve you very well.

Damn Speeco for insisting on that stupid red. I bought the iMatch because I'm not doing it... Even the black would have been perfectly fine.
    Nope.
    Red.
Also, look to the single point disconnect for future awesomeness.
It won't incorporate your diverter connection, just the factory four - but if you stow the unecessary functions when not in use - that single point connection is a godsend.
