  • These episode asks "John Deere 1025R: Will you outgrow it?". I purchased mine in 2016 and my use case changed significantly over the next 5 years. Is there still a place for the 1025R or have I outgrown it?

I'm always getting into something outdoors and would love to have you follow along.
Join me as I get outdoors with the #JohnDeere1025R and #JohnDeere4052R to do #habitatmanagement and plant #foodplots for #whitetaildeer and #wildturkeys. I have a newer #polebarn that has lots of projects going on inside of it and when I get to relax I will #hike, #hunt, #fish and do all kinds of other things.

I've had my 1023E since 2014. I got the TLBM. I haven't "outgrown" it. It still does everything I bought it for....although the stump grinder broke the rear PTO.
I had a zero turn when I bought it so the mowing feature wasn't critical. I knew it could only lift 5ft so a dump trailer was it's max.
It's 23hp. The problem is that too many people think a 23hp should be able to do what a 100hp can. I've known operators that would complain a CAT D11 was too underpowered for them.
52in loader, 16in backhoe, overrated mower deck, 6ft box blade, 7ft straight blade, stump grinder, 3pt chipper, 4ft tiller, 6ft landscape rake, and a JD loader to 3pt adapter.

You nailed it with the 100hp comment. People use and abuse these machines.
I sold that 2016 1025R but just bought a new one in December of this year. I have a 4052R for big projects but there are some tasks where the 1025R is the right tractor for the job.
Thanks for watching and commenting! Jason

Yeah, I'm surprised at how many times I see people just purchase a brand new tractor and then say, oh by the way guys tell me the good and the bad about this unit...HUH?? How about a little research first BEFORE you buy it, fellas!😮

Lots of people are just so excited about the purchase that they don’t think through the details and they take bad advice from people like “buy as big as you can afford”. I’m a big believer in “know your application”

NO, NEITHER IS WORTH THE MONEY!
DO NOT BUY JD PARTS MADE IN CHINA!!!!! After a year parts are falling off due to not tightened right at the factory. JD uses Kubota tranny now. Height limiter on the 60" belly mower will wear out due to cheap extruded aluminum. My 2005 JD 2210 was built MUCH better and lasted 18 years. This one is a little over a year old and falling apart. JD does NOT care and will not warranty anything past 1 year.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have had good luck with all of my John Deere equipment.
