omg SHE’S BEAUTIFUL😱 Also, to add to the backstory, i feel like Alika is becoming blind from all the money he wants and is starting to not care about conserving the island and Mele is a strong advocate for conserving the island. Alika wants to move to a big city, closer to bigger businesses where he can make even more money, but Mele wants to stay with the island, rooted to her culture. Alika lives a fast paced life, while Mele craves a slow, relaxed life (which is exactly how Eldonis rolls!). I feel like Eldonis could become a great friend of Mele (whether they develop a romantic relationship or not) who she could talk out her feelings with. But, Mele starts to develop a small crush on Eldonis, which is why she keeps going to back to buy so much handcrafted items from Eldonis... I could just see them chilling on the beach, watching the sunset, sipping beer, having deep conversations about their life and problems.
Wow, I just kept going on and on and on😂😂 This must be a sign that she HAS to be an important character to the story line... it has to be.😂

Fun fact: Mele is pronounced as M-eh-l-eh (e’s are short vowl sounds e.g egg, and you pronounce the l as a long sound, e.g limes)

I have an idea to add onto your perfect backstory! So Adonis can see how Mele is acting, her "sad eyes" as you put it. So as a friendly/romantic/caring gesture, he makes her one of the wood carvings (when he feels flirty he can make like a romantic figure thing). And that is when Mele kinda falls for him. Just an idea lol.

I LOVE THIS!!!!! maybe this could be the story...…. She grew up on the island and they had crushes on one another but before they could act on it her family moved away. That's where she meet her husband in the big city. He convinced her pretty easily to come back to her hometown to reconnect to her roots then he began buying up all the island and growing his empire, Which has caused her to become unhappy along with the infidelity. Seeing Aldonhus again has lit that fire back in her especially seeing him take care of the island she loves so much. He is so opposite from her husband its hard not to wonder what if her family never moved away.
