Just getting into darts. Its handy to know as when i started shotgun shooting i was also right hand left eye dominant years of shooting has made me more centred and now im AA/AAA class but darts has made me notice it abit again but seeing how this can help me combat it.
my opinion is that it's not a disadvantage, it's just a matter of figuring out how to handle it, maybe when you first start playing it takes a little longer to find the right position and movement, but in the long run it becomes indifferent.
I was cross eye dominant and recently i changed my hand because i got dartitis. Interesting thing that i noticed was that my eye sight couldnt adjust for few weeks. Then I realized that my eye dominancy has changed over 50% while I was cross eye dominant. But now after few months, it came back. Now working on my dominant eye (left) with left hand.
I usually make a post here on youtube, putting four names of players that are suggested to me in the comments, I then do the analysis of the most voted. In the next one I also put Steve Beaton, he is definitely an interesting player.
I'm left handed and right eye dominant we use both eyes to aim not just one. I can throw from the left of my face just as well as the centre or from my right eye.
I am right handed and left eye dominant. I only realized that I was LED after my first year of throwing 😂 can't seem to throw well when i place the dart infront of my face since i got used to throwing from the right side of my face below the right eye level. Any tips?
it is not the first time I have heard of someone who realises they are LED after a while 😂 I think that if you are playing well, you don't need to change, it is not mandatory for the dart to be in the field of view, you can use muscle memory and simply release the dart towards the target, it's the style of michael smith or joe cullen for example. Otherwise, if you can't improve, you should try to change, maybe bringing the dart more in line with the dominant eye, in this case however you need time, if at the beginning you struggle it is normal and you should continue, it can take months. Just my opinion.
Hi! I am right handed and left eye dominant. I shoot on the right side of the line with my foot at 45'. The arrow often moves to the right. Should I position myself more towards the center or turn my body more to the left? Thanks
Hi! both could be valid adjustments, however, it is hard to say without seeing a video, because it could be something else like the release for example
It's a brain issue. Not to be conceited, but I just authored an article for Jobson Medical LLC's 2020 Magazine that happens to be called "Cross-Eyed Dominance". It was published right before THIS!
I'am right handed and my dominant eye is also left
like me, however it is not that rare, about 30 per cent of the population is cross dominant

Can you make an extra analysis of Steve Beaton? I really like his throw

This might explain no matter where I stand I end up throwing across the board.
Yes, your brain is accessing the best visual coordination line.
Have a great day and throw great darts 🤓
@@mathewmusladin4556 Funny you should say that because my best eye is my left eye. Thanks, you too!
