No mention of his dominant left eye, how he draws it back to his left. I just found out I have a dominant left eye too (which is unusual for right handed people)
Well, it looks like very easy but it is not. i have to concentrate a lot as i tend to bent my elbow to left side so i have to be always careful for proper techinque. it requires a lot of patience and practice.
Never force anything. You throw the easiest 180s when you're totally relaxed and not super concentrated and forced ( You can also force your concentration which works counterproductive ). Check the natural leverages ( everybody has a different ape index ) of your arm and follow everything slowly so you can imprint your natural throwing ( So your throw is very straight and in line with your natural movements and stance ). Besides that it's at least 30 mins a day practice to get it perfected. Good luck.
@@markus9415 I know and from that reason i have completely changed my approach during training sessions. I practice 1-2 hours daily and sometimes more(up to 3-4 hours) depending on situation and amount of free time I do have.
@@TomasMisura Your brains can only absorb 1 hour of practice at a time so practising for so long doesn't add more progress ( Take a break after an hour session of 20 mins and do another hourly session again, you'll notice progress much quicker. I took this tip from van Gerwen himself and it works charms ). Cheers.
@@markus9415 usually i do multiple 1 hour sessions with 30-40 minutes break. Very occasionally 2 hours in row. Once I tried 3 hours session but gave it up after 2.5 hours as everything - legs, back - started me hurt me a lot :)
I couldn't hear half of what was said because of the fake saxophone in the background, and that was a real shame tho, cuz I found what I could hear very informative.. Thanks anyway, more videos, softer music in the back 😉
Below his armpit is the most relative rational part of the body everybody must apply to somebody who wants to be him...but who needs to be him is more on discipline
Look at the amount of bend in the arm . Also the dart is not straight ( at 90 degrees) to the board on release. He doesn't exactly explain 'how you aim'. What I do is hold the dart in relation to the part of the board I am aiming at. The tip of the dart lines up with my eyesight and the board section. I think when he throws the dart that the wrist turns a bit to straighten the flight of the dart.
You are correct about that fact that alot of prof players still have a lateral wobble in the dart when they release.. ( In phil's case it's because he is left eye dominant but right handed ) A perfect smooth throw indeed results in the dart going exactly straight without any lateral wobble and in a parabola. I always use my thumb nail to aim since if you're right you have a slight compensation to the left ( because of the anatomy of the shoulder ) and vice versa. I am planning on doing q-school in about 2 years. Averaging about 85 at the moment after a year of daily practice. Good Luck in your game of darts.

pure gold information... with an annoying 70's Sax jam that you have to listen to while trying to hear Mr. Taylor.... why? Are we not here for the advice and guidance of the Champ? Its like going to the Buddhist Temple and waiting for words of wisdom... only there is an insistent and loud and fairly ordinary musical group jamming over all the words you've climbed the mountain to hear.... yes applies to all weights
Can you feel the "POWER"?
Notice there is absolutely no head movement. Minimizing all extraneous movement is key to accuracy.
Head movement is key to almost all athletics. Look at a cheetah run, or Tiger Woods swing a club. The head stays dead still.

Get a 2a3 se amp with a multibit dac with a class A output and you won't have any trouble hearing Phil. Especially if you have hearing impairment.
The animation has an opposite spin direction. But great short tutorial.
