I'm not a dart expert, but the first time I saw this guy throw I was inspired to start following darts. The way he explains it make you understand that he is great for a reason. Keep it simple, it's starts from your foundation.
Taylor has the most aesthetically pleasing style to watch in Darting. The way he holds the darts and throws, the way they land is beautiful it's like a perfect 90 degree angle on each shot, very few players have that and it shows what a master he is. And then there's the beauty of the silver-blue PowerFive darts. The most gorgeous pair of darts I've ever seen and I just can't stop admiring them whenever I watch his matches.
***** True he has a nice throw as well. I also really like Adrien Lewis' throw. Especially when he keeps hitting the tripples, it just looks like he's 'putting power into it' and so methodical!
srdjanw3gamer Well haha Matt Padgett came close! He's just twice as bad as Phillip. He's left handed and uses the same darts haha watch his match vs Ryan Harrington
Nice to hear someone talk about muscle memory. Probably one of the most important aspects of darts yet hardly ever gets mentioned. I'm far from a Phil taylor fan but he made a few good pints there at the end. Simple points yet very Important
Don't know if this is still being read? I just purchased Power 9-Five Gen 5 24G 95% Tungsten Steel Tip and they are the best darts I have ever thrown. Took them out of the box and hit 140 first throw, then went around doubles hitting nearly all first dart. They are very small, but perfect to throw.
I remember when I picked up my first set of darts. They had a Long flight with a thick barrel and an accuracy of a scud missile😂 phil is right you might have to spend a few bob to find the right arrows like I did to find the right ones. Personally I like a medium weight barrel and short stem with a firm throw so there's little deviation in the flight.
I feel like when Phil, and other players aim like that it doesn't actually do a lot. He proceeds to pull it back underneath his line of sight, so effectively the dart isn't visible to him at that point and he's just looking at the target, not sighting the dart at the target. I don't know, it seems like the aim part is just a way to steady himself and get a mental representation of what he going to do with it. So it's not really at all like aiming a gun, more like getting a feel for where he wants to put it. I might be wrong. He also says to throw it softly, like a feather, like you're throwing paper at someone, but if you look at his follow through, it's actually quite a violent action. He appears to be accelerating much faster (harder) than he's advocating. It does kinda seem like dart players don't really know how they do it, they can just do it. If it was a technique based game almost everyone would have indentical, or very close to identical styles (like in snooker), but it seems like every top player has their own way, standing side on, face on, off to the side, some even with a jerky motion, no follow-through, and their head moving all over the place. I'd bet quite a lot of money that this game is 99% raw hand-eye coordination.
I've thought about those things as well. Looks like when he lines up, the dart is between the target and his line of sight. Then he pulls back and upon thrust he takes the same path as where he lined up. That's the hard part and getting the release perfect.
I think a lot of it has to do with genetics, perhaps it's just luck of the draw if your arm, posture, height, fingers, joints, sight, and muscles, etc, allow for a more straight, consistent throw?
Is it okay if I use this video as a dart training video in RUclips? I'm trying to write down the source, but I need permission from the copyrigher. please give me the feedback Thank you.
Hi,can anybody give me some advice please. Is it ok to hold the dart like you would hold a biro to write with? Or is there no set way to grip a dart? Thanks.
Like Rome Streetz said... "Out of every knife from the drawer, I'm the most sharp (Uh-huh) All skill like Phil Taylor how I throw the darts Dead accurate, like a army sniper killin' marks"
Finding a solution for my problem which I can't throw the dart when I pull it back, I tried many ranges on pulling back but nothing works. Somebody help?
LoChro II The motion is very aggressive. Allow the dart to find its own center as you put your hand in place. Then pull back and do a 1/4 backward turn as you pull it back in front of your face, then swing through. You should be controlling the needle
I have the same grip as Taylor and its not that hard or difficult. 2 of the 3 fingers grip the dart not at the tip but at or near the uppermost joint, most notably the thumb where the dart sits on top of the joint.
I love darts and snooker, I personally watch and play a lot more darts then I do snooker though. But NO WAY is darts a harder game then snooker. by no means am i shit at snooker, i beat the world 8 ball champion in a exibition when i was 13 i cleared the table, but my highest break in snooker is 47 ironic that the max is 147. yet in darts ive hit 11 dart legs and can easily hit ton plus finishes and plenty of 180s, at my very best i could maybe hold my throw once or twice over a match vs a pro. but if i played a pro snooker player i would have virtually no chance in winning a frame. lol
@@muchiosgracias4 Yes there is that, But i just feel snooker is a harder game to master then darts, althoughdarts is a very hard game to master snooker is more difficult. If you managed to find someone that has never even played a single shot at snooker or even pool and that has never thrown a dart he or she will pick up darts easier.
Without Taylor no PDC and at least 30 of those players that take part In it. He's influenced at least 85% of them over the last 25 years to take up the game.

You and Beaton, fckn legends. Just watching you guys make my always 26 feel awesome
I wonder if anybody’s ever broken into his house and he threw darts in their eyes.

I am a beginner. I am also right handed and my dominant eye is the left one. Phil has the most natural style.

Am I the only one that has one finger on the end of the dart (the bit that goes into the dart board)?

Being a snooker player darts doesn't interest me but its similar action to cueing but opposite if you know what i mean

One of the best vids out there for throwing tips, but my god why drown him out with that dreadful distracting music
That is NOT his stance on a real oche. His front foot is not at any angle whatsoever. It's pressed up against the oche from heel to toe.
Without Eric Bristow no Phil Taylor.
Without Taylor no PDC and at least 30 of those players that take part In it. He's influenced at least 85% of them over the last 25 years to take up the game.
Is it just me or does that board look like it’s 9 feet off the ground 😂
