I also saw my first Abronia at the Miami Zoo. They were stunningly beautiful and were active climbing around on the branches. I immediately fell in love with them.
These lizards are awesome! I just found out about their existence (your video was recommended on Google good job) and their beautiful but also look tough like little dragons. At first I thought they were a type of skink and assumed it was the armadillo skink just because it had bands just like armadillos but I was wrong and these aren't even skinks
ok, i want some blue ones specifically, and also have you guys tried interbreeding them , like mexteca with gramiea, and theres another one that has horns that you need to breeed in. Abronia lythrochila
The blue ones are green ones that have lost their color. People speculate that it is due to the lack of certain nutrients they would get in the wild. Nobody really knows for sure though..
They get a more pale color from a lack of natural rays and getting more unnatural lighting like they have. If the abronia is kept in natural warm lighting say Florida or something near the window or even an outside enclosure they’ll be a bright green.
Blue coloration is not a morph nor is it a desirable trait in Abronia. It is an indication of insufficient UV light. Crossing species of Abronia, all of which are rare, would be really shitty IMO.
Hey, i just got my first crested gecko he weights 3 grams and my local store recommended a natural set up of 60/45/45 should i downgrade him into a small tank while he puts some weight on because im unsure if he is eating? Thanks any help is appriciated!
I’m late to the comment for you but you can just take a piece of carboard cut it to make the cage for one part smaller so you don’t go out and buy a whole new cage. Then just use a stand of some sort so the carboard rests on top of it 😉 my motto in life is this; modify larger to smaller. Carboard or mesh is 100x cheaper than a new cage and often you have leftovers die more projects
18*18*18 or 18*18*24 for a single or a pair... I think my plan of modifying a 36*23*27 dog cage will be plenty of room. Also for anyone curious, I can buy it for less than 40$ at Walmart and I'm going to buy mesh screening, estimating 100$ though it'll be less, to cover the outside(so they can't slip through the bars). I mostly want the wire frame so I can support heavy logs that I want to be high in the air, the traditional mesh enclosures look too weak to do what I want done. If this is a bad idea, I'm up for criticism since I don't want to hurt my abronias once I have them. However, if the criticism is "the tradional mesh enclosures are cheaper" or "this seems like way too much work for an enclosure" then please don't bother, I know it's more expensive this way and I know that it's more work but I believe the outcome will look much better and be a lot more sturdy/safe than a tradional enclosure.
So you are saying that if you keep abronia's at around 70 degrees they won't breed? Also can I keep an Abronia Graminea and AbroniaTaeniata together? Awesome vid!
I know that I probably will get some of my terms wrong and stuff but what would I get if I bred a Creamsicle Harlequin Female Crested Gecko and Black Base and Cream markings Harlequin Crested Gecko Male.
Well, the uvb does give off some D3. UVB regulates the synthesis of Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 allows the reptiles to properly absorb and metabolize calcium. The amount of D3 in the calcium plus is not enough to give problems. It is just a way to make sure the animals are getting D3.
A lot of the time these older care videos with the two guys standing and talking at you are pretty bad but this was good and there isn’t much information on these guys out there. I’m interested in getting one as my next reptile but I’m kind of hesitant because there isn’t a ton of information
The opening seemed like they were about to sell me a 12 step program to make me rich

The guy on the right looks like he's debating the choices he's made in life
manna
Poor guy
Thanks for posting an abronia lizard video, they are dream lizards of mine and I’ve been brainstorming enclosures for them
Been wanting care info and just plain more info on these guys. Thank you boys for the information
Pumpkin Patch Exsotics, Same Here! These guys are Awesome!!!
our pleasure! we want to make sure people that get these are taking proper care of them
TikisGeckos and thank you for that. Could never find a good care guide on them so never felt ready for them.
LOL "goat loading"
hahaha ;)
Gut* loading
@@TikisGeckos 🤣🤣🤣
Those are some seriously beautiful lizards!
Chris Wasil, Agreed! :)
Yeah they're incredible.
“Goat Loading” 😂🐐🦗
Always enjoy the videos. I love Abronias!
Thank you for the continuous support Jim!
Thanks man this helps a lot

Are they huminity the same as a red eye crocodile skinks ?
Do you think they could share a bio tank with red eyed tree frogs?
I have an issue feeding my female abronia, she won't eat. Any suggestions?
I have a questions for you two experts??? How do you sex the abronias from Male to females???
Lmao " goat loading " haha funny stuff lol otherwise great vid and nicely informative 😚
I had mine for 6 months before he passed away and I have no idea as to why.
Sorry to hear that. :/
probably killed himself
@@Matt-cw1mv 😂😂
Probably wild caught and loaded with parasites. Beyond that too much heat is one of the easiest ways to kill them.
I have a 60 inches tall and 30 inches deep and wide. Would that be suitable? And with a ton of live plants and vines.
So is it a good idea to have a small bucket of water in the enclosure big enough for them to sit in or is misting better?
Do you have any available
when do you guys think you’ll have these back in stock?
Do you guys have this for sale?
I didn’t know that even existed but they are really cool
Yeah when I first saw them I was shocked
Great video how much do they cost now to own one?
$100-150 for babies and $250-350 for adults
Great video! How much do you think an adult pair would be?
@Kai Prego thanks! I am interested in the abronia graminia, not sure if I spelt that right.
Are you still breeding Abronia Graminea and is it possible to ship to Canada?
Great care video guys 👊🏻🦎 do you have any babies available? Currently?
ok, i want some blue ones specifically, and also have you guys tried interbreeding them , like mexteca with gramiea, and theres another one that has horns that you need to breeed in. Abronia lythrochila
showmetheepic, That would be Awesome!!!

What size enclosure?

Yes we do on the website. www.tikisgeckos.com
Great info, well done! #goatloading 🤣🤣
thank you Norah! :)
Nice video !
Will a 90,45,45 eco terra be to small for one
18*18*18 or 18*18*24 for a single or a pair...

Are you guys still working with these lizards ?
I so want to get one.. contact me if available.
So you are saying that if you keep abronia's at around 70 degrees they won't breed? Also can I keep an Abronia Graminea and AbroniaTaeniata together? Awesome vid!
Would a screen cage sized 18” long x 20” tall x12”Wide be good for one adult Abronia or Anoles ?
I know that I probably will get some of my terms wrong and stuff but what would I get if I bred a Creamsicle Harlequin Female Crested Gecko and Black Base and Cream markings Harlequin Crested Gecko Male.
MoleratGaming, A bunch of really cool babies! :)
lol
you will get babies of both morphs
So half of the babies will look like the father and half will look like the mother?
You say to dust with d3 but if you're using a uvb light the animal will produce its own d3 am i right? So theres no need to supplement d3.

Artificial UV is not the same as natural sunlight.
Would it be ok to house an adult in a 12 1/2" wide 12 3/4" long but 30 1/4" tall tank? I took a 20L tank and flipped it upwords for more height.
How much do you feed them? Yes yes, 3-4 times a week but how much for each session?
and I wish I could get one in Switzerland but its impossible
Do you guys ever sale adult size?
Alberto Delgado, From what I've seen with TikisGeckos, I'd say unfortunately it's not likely. To bad though, these guys are Awesome!!!
rarely we do. We actually have some for sale now, but they wont last bro.
Great info guys!
thank you sir
Do you have any blue ones ?
Where I live it gets up to 90 degrees in summer, is that too hot?
I highly doubt that the temperature outside is the same as inside your house, so as long as your house is cool enough they should be fine.
Yo Dave do u have any Orange Harley’s or any cream on cream cresties
yes we do :)
Do something with sound, please.

Thank you! haha
Bummed that you focused more on just the info rather than more shots of the little one on your hand. I wanted to see more Abronia, and less T-shirts.
WOW!!
Production value ^, music taste v. Clip on mic's next 🙄
Beautiful lizards and beautiful men lmao
