Best reptile content on RUclips. Upfront, honest and realistic about what it takes to keep animals, but also enthusiastic and FUN. Someone else said Mr. Rogers, but my first impression was Young Bill Nye. :)
Uromastyx number 1 reptile for sure. Perfect size, great temperament, rad looking, and vegetarian to top it off. One of the most prehistoric looking lizards too. I love mine.
When I was a young boy: I had Steve Irwin telling me how beautiful big lizards were Now as an adult: I have Clint to tell me all about beautiful smaller lizards
This brings me such happiness in all honesty. I have such a love for these scaly creatures that it startles my boyfriend. Although I would not own a majority of them, I would not mind working with them at a rescue!!
Those jeweled Lacertas are seriously cool. Picked one up after hearing your suggestion and he is the most active, and funny creature . Literally wags his tail when he gets excited like a dog.
Man, that Australian Water Dragon is one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen. The striking facial markings behind the eyes, the spines all down the back, and I mean, it’s a black, white, and red lizard. How much cooler can it get? Oh yeah, it swims, too. What a marvelous animal. I haven’t had the opportunity to keep a reptile before, but once I have the income and a good place to keep one (I currently don’t have AC, and I could never put a lizard the temperature swings I deal with in the summer; it would be impossible to keep its enclosure stable), I would love to look into keeping one of them. Definitely one of the coolest animals I’ve had the privilege of learning about. Keep up the amazing content!
I love my Mali uromastyx! I've had him for 15 years. Once we got the tank and lighting set up, he's been pretty low maintenance. He eats mostly kale, carrots, and bird seed. Never once has he been aggressive or bitten anyone in the 15 years I've had him and we've handled him a lot. We can leave him when we go on a weekend trip and not worry about him and maybe have someone check on him and his lighting once within the week if we're gone. He's perfectly docile while he gets his claws trimmed by our vet. 10/10, in my book.
I’m so glad that you showed a different option to chameleons. I’ve always wanted to get a chameleon but just listening to you talk about the The breaded anole, definitely changes my mind! Keep up the great work!
I live in Phoenix, AZ and the Uromastyx is perfect for our climate, and we can even set up safe outdoor enclosures for them to bask under the sun in the summers for their UVA/UVB needs, and warmth needs. They are pretty cool lizards, too.
Cool! The Cuban false chameleon made this list! They seem like very cool reptiles, and VERY underrated. Frankly I wouldn’t have known they existed beforehand if I hadn’t subscribed to a certain educational snake channel.
Clint's Reptiles Really?! Now you’ve gotten me very excited! I hope we’re talking about the same channel! Are you perhaps going to meet with a nice young lady named Emily?
Clint's Reptiles There sure are, sir! I can’t wait for this crossover! I expect the happy passion from both of you to be bleeding through the screen! :D
My favorite lizard ever was my rescue white throated monitor. She was curious, laid back, companionable, and affectionate. Her size made her a pain somewhat. She had a setup in one end of the living room, had free run when i could watch her (easy since she followed me). She came when I called mostly (expecting scritches). And often slept across my lap. One of my neighbors brought her a whole chicken or rabbit ever week, so she ran to the door when people knocked. She was also filthy, her poop was gross, her care was rather expensive. But she made up for it. She was an adult when i got her, and lived another 15 years. I've had other lizards since. I also loved my chuckwalla, and my rescue green iguana (so expensive to feed, but they shared diets). While not handleable, i also had a 250 gallon planted tank with various anoles, skinks, house geckos, toads and grass snakes. Also free range tokays in the house. The kids learnt quickly to respect the bark lol.
This video has turned me onto Australian Water Dragons! I'd love to see an in-depth video just on them! could be next up on my most wanted reptiles list!
I love how you cover a short pros and cons list. It’s part of what makes your channel one of the best reptile channels, in my opinion. Keep doing what you’re doing, your videos are amazing.
