For those who are confused: Kyle Busch had to do something extra on pit road and it held him from being on the starting grid, and so he had to try and catch up with the pack. He had already made the majority of a lap and was up to speed, as the tall gear they run at Daytona and Talladega makes restarts much slower and the cars take a full lap to get up to speed
He may be a douche but he has balls of steel how many other drivers would try to do that like Darrell Waltrip said the most exciting wheelman he's ever seen
mathcar 1877 what do you have to do Then? Like if they wave you around late and you are catching the pack as they're taking off but they're across the start finish line before you actually catch them? What speed do you have to slow to and for how long?
From what I understand. You have to be going to speed of the rest of the field when the leaders get to the restart zone. That speed is about 40 mph. But dont hold my word to it that is just how I understand it.
mathcar 1877 I don’t think they made a rule change. Kyle was trying to catch up to the back of the field that’s why he was going so quick. Usually NASCAR waits till everyone’s caught up to go green, not in this instance though.
How? He was a lap down came out of the pits and had a full head of steam when the green flag waived... he wasn’t going to slow for the slower cars, he passed them and ended up coming back in because his car was broke anyways... he didn’t win, his brother did...
how would Kyle Busch be considered a favorite? he gets fucked over all the time by rules. and nascar likes to let him limp around the track with a blown tire without throwing a caution a lot of times too.
it is a completely legal he passed on the outside after crossing the finish line and if no one blocks you which no one did because they all just kind of expected him to fall in just passed everyone.
You can't tell me you wouldn't make that move if you could.
Your right Jeffrey. I sure as hell would.
He shouldn't have been waves so late
Cole Trickle did it!

He war in 4th gear while everyone else was in second and those cars don't have a lot of horse power because the engine is limited on a super speedway
he wreck last caution, then he got repaired and went full speed on the restart

Kyle Busch be like:

I know if he wasn't a douche he would be cheered as much as Jeff gordan
Cole Trickle did the same thing at the Daytona 500... 30 years ago!

NASCAR fixed that quick
mathcar 1877 what rule change?
Your not allowed to be up to speed on the restart. if I'm not mistaken.

This made me think of Days Of Thunder: Kyle, You're Gonna Be At Max Speed When The Green Flag Drops
And he won the race
No he wreck with martin
Kurt Busch won. KB won the next year, so he still did end up winning, just not this year.

This is technically cheating, if he did that now a days, they still wouldn't penalize him because nascar likes to pick favorites

This is a legal move.
@Jonathan Xu This is just a get up to speed move. Ain't illegal in the slightest. I don't understand this guy's thinking.
