- How to Enable TPM and Secure Boot in ASUS Tuf Gaming BIOS to install Windows 11 using an ASUS Tuf Gaming B550M-Plus Motherboard.
BIOS/UEFI version: 2006
The Compatibility Support Module (CSM) is a component of the UEFI firmware that provides legacy BIOS compatibility by emulating a BIOS environment, allowing legacy operating systems and some option ROMs that do not support UEFI to still be used
CSM (Compatibility Support Module) it’s only needed if you must install an older OS that doesn’t support UEFI.

I would add to this video... Need to have your OS drive in GPT format. For those still using MBR, you can easily switch to GPT, without losing any data or your OS - Open up CMD prompt as admin - type mbr2gpt /convert /disk:[which disk # you want to convert] /allowFullOS Lots of forums covering this on the innerwebs. If you only have one disk, its 0 (zero), if you have more than one, run diskpart and then use list disk to see what your actual disk numbers are. You can also use Disk Management to verify which one is your OS.

@@horacioproa2200 If you're having trouble- hit start and start typing Command Prompt but look on the right and click Run as Administrator. Then mbr2gpt /convert /allowFullOS That will ignore the disk part and run it on your system drive.
This was a very useful video to send to a friend who was setting up their first build ever. I don't have the same motherboard so walking someone through steps like this was going to be tricky, this was a HUGE help. Thank you!

I found this video because I updated my windows 11 computer last night, woke up this morning and it’s stuck on the “preparing to repair” system black screen. If you press Del or F2 fast enough to open this menu when given the prompt it allowed me to open this menu. I didn’t make any of the changes he did, I just saved and exit. But it allowed me to not be stuck in that loop as it turned my computer off and on continuously. Now my computer was able to actually repair itself without shutting on and off, so if you have the same problem as me also try it out.
Note:
I also tried remedies online like powering off and on to enter safe mode, as well as powering off fully and unplugging the power for a hard reset (but not a full factory reset).
My computer is now fine and it reverted the weird changes from the update

When I disable CSM, I cant boot my Windows and I did everything like you did but I still have legacy BIOS mode and unsupported secure boot ( I have new CPU and motherboard).

@@Fclemieux I dont remember how I did it but I fixed it, I think it has something to do with mode of my drive I think I had to change it to GPT mode but be very careful coz when I was switching, it deleted my whole drive so I had to install windows again and I lost all my data…

My issue remains on the CSM, I have a Ryzen 7 5800x with a ASUS Tuff Gaming X570 PLUS WIFI as a motherboard. It is labeled to have support for windows 11 and all. The problem is I have a SSD (M.2 Drive where Windows is stored onto) when I disable that feature and save the changes the pc only posts to BIOS, showing that there are no Storage Drivers with windows or a operating system on one. What can I do to fix this?
Same problem. if i understand correctly, the problem is in MBR and GPT partition tables. You need GPT on your m2 to disable CSM.
@@mmedvos Yeah, I look up a lot and saw that. Apparently we would need to erase all data on the M.2 to convert it from MBR to GPT.. There would be no other way. The issue is that, I have windows installed on the M.2 so I am gonna have to transfer all the files I want to the HDD thats a lot of work not to mention its a process that I would lead me to getting a windows 11 key. If I am being honest I will just stick with windows 10 for now, I only really wanted windows 11 for a certain thing but that won't really be necessary now. Although I might just change my mind soon..
@@lui_ando win10 have a tool to covert MBR to GPT without losing data. Check if you have file MBR2GPT.exe in system32 folder. I find video on youtube How To Convert MBR To GPT For Free In Windows 10. And now problem solved.
@@mmedvos Tried it, the solution for me was to format my M.2 and reinstall windows. Delete the Partitions and click next.
@@mmedvos To be fair you need to Disable CSM before Reinstalling windows.

if you need this for Valo, i strongly recommend you to reevaluate and think again. no game should ask for BIOS changes. anti-cheat or not, this amount of low-level access to the computer is unthinkable.

It’s stuck on an infinite loop of black screens. Can’t even get back into the BIOS. I tried clearing the CMOS but it doesn’t help. I don’t know what to do…
If this doesn't work for you try to update the BIOS and try again. I couldn't get it to work, I would have different options in the BIOS, and I would also couldn't exit the BIOS. Turns out my BIOS was long out of date, and updating it solved it for me.

Das ist schon mein drittes Mainboard Mit D-D-R- 5-Speicher. TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS BIOS 2613 AMD 5 Ich hatte gehofft, neues Bios. Dann läuft es mal aber immer noch nicht. Speicher muss ich runterstellen. In meinen Augen Machen die Hersteller gar nichts Da muss man als Laie auch noch selber rumfummeln. Ich kehre zurück, auf DDR 4. Da gab's nie Probleme. PS. Du machst eine tolle Sendung, so schaue ich mir immer wieder gern an, mach weiter so

After having done the exact same procedure as you, as soon as I start the computer it restarts automatically, and normally it shouldn't do this, it restarts automatically with a black screen. 😤

@@Lex-uq9xm before converting over windows 11 you have make sure that your ssd or hdd is gpt rather than mbr before you can do anything in the bios.
