Hi! when I switch my “Launch CSM” option from enabled to disabled, my PC gets stuck in BIOS whenever I turn on/restart or try to exit BIOS. When I looked up how to get my PC to stop being stuck in BIOS, it said to switch “Launch CSM” back to the enabled setting. But if it’s on the ‘enabled’ option, my PC health Check app tells me I cant download W11 bc I don’t have secure boot enabled lol. I am stuck in a loop, any info to fix this?
More than likely your boot drive is set to MBR and not GPT format. So when you disable CSM you more or less are taking away your PCs ability to find the boot drive. Your only two options to correct this issue for windows 11 would be to reinstall windows with the correct settings in your BIOS or run the MBR2GPT tool. I have a video on my channel covering the MBR2GPT tool that you can run in windows. You can also use this to verify if your boot drive is in fact set to MBR. You can also do some searching online for the tool as well, plenty of information & write ups out there for it.
Thanks, my settings were a little different, I think because I recently updated my BIOS firmware, but it was easy enough to follow. I found from another video how to enable GPT but he was using an HP with a different BIOS so I then searched to find your video. Thanks for the great video, so glad you knew what "should" be there, that helped a lot. I though, shit I hope he knows what it "should" look like just as you mentioned it.

Why is it that when i disable CSM i can no longer boot into windows? I just get moved back to the uefi mode. Is my motherboard too old? I have a B350 rog gaming f with a 3300x
Typically that means your boot drive is formatted to MBR & not GPT. So when you switch your BIOS mode it can't find the boot drive anymore. However, sometimes the issue is your BIOS doesn't know what drive to grab and you have to assign the boot drive as your boot drive in the BIOS, but that isn't a common occurrence in my experience. If your drive isn't formatted properly, you will either need to run the MBR2GPT tool in windows or reinstall windows with the BIOS set up for UEFI mode. Your hardware isn't the issue, I have an older chipset that that and CPU in one of my PCs and have no issues setting it up.

@@sprousecm Well if you previously had the option for secure boot and now you don't and you didn't do a BIOS update, then something goofy is going on. That option doesn't just disappear. lol Did you previously have the option?
Hey, when i go to the secure boot settings the secure boot control option is missing so i cant change it from disabled to enabled simply because i dont have the option to change it. What should i do?
You should be able to keep UEFI mode enabled and have fTPM and Secure Boot disabled or you can just switch to CSM mode, but if your operating system was installed in UEFI mode, then you won't be able to boot into it anymore if you are CSM and same the other way around. I am not sure if secure boot will say setup or not, most people (myself included) don't normally turn off these options.
I haven't looked at the BIOS lately, but I would assume that would wipe the BIOS back to its defaults and restart the PC. But I would have to go back and look into it, unless you meant the save and restart option? In that case it would just save your changes and the restart the PC.
@@LilBlakestein If that is your only option, than that is more than likely the case. I know not every motherboard has the same BIOS layout, even if there are the same manufacturer.
@@LilBlakesteinIf it makes you feel any better, about the worse thing you can do to a motherboard BIOS from just poking around in the settings is cause your PC to not POST and have to clear the CMOS to get it to come back (I may or may not have done that once or twice...).
More than likely your boot drive is formatted to MBR & not GPT. If that is the case, you will either need to format the boot drive from MBR to GPT using the MBR2GPT tool in windows or install windows again with the BIOS settings correct for UEFI mode.
I already have all of these settings enabled. I have the exact same processor as you, a RX6800, 2tb SSD, and an up to date bios. However, when using PC checker, all of my requirements including TPMS are met, however secure boot is not met. Is there another Bios setting that I am missing?
I found the issue. You might need to clarify that your boot drive must be in UEFI mode before performing these bios changes, not in legacy mode. I basically had to convert my drive from legacy to UEFI and change the boot sequence to UEFI only mode.
@@cesarpalmos8235 I do mention it at the very beginning of the video, in the description and there was a pinned comment mentioning it as well, however I am not seeing it at the moment. I am glad you got it working though!
I am not sure how changing anything in the BIOS shown in the video will prevent that from happening. Booting into safe mode is something to do with your OS not the BIOS from my understanding.
@@michalrymsza4648Are you able to set the BIOS to UEFI? I know some motherboards won't even show the secure boot/platform key information until the BIOS in UEFI mode. What motherboard are you using? Is this a laptop, prebuilt or something you built?

I would have to try and get my PC to mimic that to even make a video. There are some variations between motherboards and their BIOS layouts, hard for me to say for sure why its doing that without the PC in front of me.
Hi! Interesting video! Is that possible to set ATA password for hdd/nvme drives which support disk function? And what is hidden under Main/Security function?
@@f2lo2 so after poking around in the BIOS I wasn’t able to find anywhere to set up an ATA password for drives. As for what is under the Main/security option, it gave me a choice to set an admin password, which won’t allow someone into the BIOS without that password and a user password, which would require someone to enter a password after powering on the PC and has to be entered at boot or to get into the BIOS.

@@Bananabrain_xmfI have same issue as well, I’m trying to convert my bios to uefi but it’s in legacy and I can’t find vid to help
Thank you sooooo much it works!!!❤

I love you. Thx this help me 😊
Happy to help!
Thank you so much this helped me so much 😱😱
Glad it helped!
For some reason to secure boot opti9n i have custom and standard options and not disable or enable
You may need to pick standard to load the defaults, I haven't ran into this myself yet.
so im wanting to turn both off. i just disable security device support and my secure boot should say setup?
Should i have boot/csn enabled?
You should be able to keep UEFI mode enabled and have fTPM and Secure Boot disabled or you can just switch to CSM mode, but if your operating system was installed in UEFI mode, then you won't be able to boot into it anymore if you are CSM and same the other way around. I am not sure if secure boot will say setup or not, most people (myself included) don't normally turn off these options.
Thank you for this video!!
You are so welcome!
You’re a lifesaver man! Thanks a bunch :)
Happy to help!
nice vid, but a quick question, does save and reset actually reset anything or does it just mean restart?
I haven't looked at the BIOS lately, but I would assume that would wipe the BIOS back to its defaults and restart the PC. But I would have to go back and look into it, unless you meant the save and restart option? In that case it would just save your changes and the restart the PC.
well it says save and reset with no other options so I guess it means the same as restart?
@@LilBlakestein If that is your only option, than that is more than likely the case. I know not every motherboard has the same BIOS layout, even if there are the same manufacturer.
@@Bananabrain_xmf Okay thanks man, I was a bit worried to mess something up.
@@LilBlakesteinIf it makes you feel any better, about the worse thing you can do to a motherboard BIOS from just poking around in the settings is cause your PC to not POST and have to clear the CMOS to get it to come back (I may or may not have done that once or twice...).
I just get stuck in a loop being forced into the bois after each restart
More than likely your boot drive is formatted to MBR & not GPT. If that is the case, you will either need to format the boot drive from MBR to GPT using the MBR2GPT tool in windows or install windows again with the BIOS settings correct for UEFI mode.
@@Bananabrain_xmf that was the issue, I’m too lazy to do it but thanks for reminding me maybe I’ll do it today lol
@@loveyzs3285 Ha! I know the feeling.
I mean seriously thanks for this video. No joke... Thanks so much. Add a donation page or something.
Appreciate that! Might have one someday, but for now I fine with giving out the knowledge for free!
Why is my bios exactly as yours?
My secure boot says custom and standard instead of enabled and disabled I don't know what to do
Standard should be what you are needing, custom would allow you to set up your own settings.
Thankkkk youuu soo much bro u helped me ❤
Glad to help!
The {tpm device selection} is actually a firmware tpm , I’m lost
If you don't have an external TPM plugged into the motherboard header, it should be a firmware TPM, since it is using the CPU.
@@Bananabrain_xmf thx bro your a hero
You are an absolute life saver!
Thanks!
I already have all of these settings enabled. I have the exact same processor as you, a RX6800, 2tb SSD, and an up to date bios. However, when using PC checker, all of my requirements including TPMS are met, however secure boot is not met. Is there another Bios setting that I am missing?
That is an odd one, I haven't ran into that yet. Are you using the Windows PC Health checker for switching to Windows 11?
I found the issue. You might need to clarify that your boot drive must be in UEFI mode before performing these bios changes, not in legacy mode. I basically had to convert my drive from legacy to UEFI and change the boot sequence to UEFI only mode.
@@cesarpalmos8235 I do mention it at the very beginning of the video, in the description and there was a pinned comment mentioning it as well, however I am not seeing it at the moment.
I am glad you got it working though!
Brooo thank you so much , subbed
You are welcome!
Thanks a lot brother, you are the best ❤️🥰🥰
Thanks!
You deserve a like and a follow my friend, I am not able to play valorant thank you!
Glad I could help
thank u bro u saved my life
Thanks that really helped! I gave a sub and a like
Glad it helped! Thanks for the sub!
Bro thanks now I can get windows 11
No problem!
My pc starts in safe mode. Can i get rid of safe boot by using this options?
I am not sure how changing anything in the BIOS shown in the video will prevent that from happening. Booting into safe mode is something to do with your OS not the BIOS from my understanding.
thank you so much, much love❤️
No problem 😊
What if the option: platform key (PK) state isnt showing??
Like its greyed out or just isn't there at all?
@@Bananabrain_xmf its not there
@@michalrymsza4648Are you able to set the BIOS to UEFI? I know some motherboards won't even show the secure boot/platform key information until the BIOS in UEFI mode.
What motherboard are you using? Is this a laptop, prebuilt or something you built?
@@Bananabrain_xmf i turned UEFI on and my motherboard is asus
@@michalrymsza4648 ok, but do you know which model Asus motherboard you have?
Why I can't move my pointer after this?
I don't have an answer for that, since I don't know what you did exactly or any other information. Is the mouse not working in the BIOS or Windows?
@@Bananabrain_xmf Thanks, I forgot to answer my solution, after that, I had to go to the Device Manager, there I found some "Pluralinputs" in the keyboard and Mice and other pointing devices, I was able to move my pointer after deleting them
Where do i set this gpt partition you mentioned at beginning?
ok mines enable atm and its greyed out so no option to select it and disable any chance you could make a video on how to fix that?
I would have to try and get my PC to mimic that to even make a video. There are some variations between motherboards and their BIOS layouts, hard for me to say for sure why its doing that without the PC in front of me.
Hi! Interesting video! Is that possible to set ATA password for hdd/nvme drives which support disk function? And what is hidden under Main/Security function?
That I am not sure on, I don't personally mess with kind of thing personally, so I would have to dig around in the BIOS to find out.
@@Bananabrain_xmf Would you be so nice and could you check what is under Security/hdd security configuration menu?
@@f2lo2 If I get a chance over the next few days I can try.
@@Bananabrain_xmf Please do it! :)
