Thanks for your video on "Legacy to UEFI BIOS Change, & Enable TPM & Secure Boot" That was extremely helpful and I was able to update to Win 11because of it!

Your PC is good, but there could be something in the BIOS affecting it. You could go into your BIOS and reset to default values then try afterwards. Also you can use Disk Management on the M.2 if needed to set it to the correct disk type. Make sure if you use your Windows 10 disk that you backup things first.

Hello, I tried to convert to UEFI, but I get a message saying not enough space. my disk 0 has a system reserved partition of 579MB and my local C: 930.95 GB. what I'm I doing wrong? Please advise. Thank you
Check that there is enough free space on the drive your trying to convert, if its to full it will prevent it from taking place. If space isn't the issue you could try first backing up your Data, then use a program called Minitool Partition Wizard and it should let you convert it regardless of space, unless its very very little. Hope that helps.
My dear friend, thank you very much for the amazing and complete tutorial!!!! Without a doubt it is the best video related to the topic. Fast, objective and functional. God bless you. My motherboard is the asrock b450m and everything went well.

@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM OHHHHH IT WAS THE GPT wow thank you not allot of people do videos like too too help because my was set oo uefi mode but i need too conver the ssd now i see all green check marks . THANK YOU
Hey, sorry, I know this is old, but it seems the only way I'm able to find the secure boot section is to disable CSM. Even after that, in the secure boot section, it says it's already enabled and there's nothing about the OS there.
The boot device can be selected but this process should not have affected that, I'd pick my Hard Drive that has your OS on it and it should boot up after that. Going to BIOS should still work regardless so not sure why your not able to get to your BIOS.
I am a bit late but I had this same problem and i figured it out. You have to just press or spam delete right after you power on your pc so like the second you press your power button just spam press delete (i dont know if only pressing it once will work i found this out by spamming it.) Dont know why but this entered my bios unlike before where i got the same message as you
If you followed the steps to see if it was going to work and no errors showed up it should have proceeded without a problem. If your getting select proper boot device there are steps you can take. Go to your BIOS menu and select the Boot tab. Select your hard drive (or preferred boot device) as the first option in the boot order. Turn on the option that determines whether the BIOS automatically detects hard drives. Disable Legacy Mode if required and use F10 to save your changes and exit.
hey man, my commend promp show: cannot find os patrition for disk 0, how to fix this ? Ps : my Ssd C drive which had window 10 is disk 1 in disk managerment, and disk 0 is hdd which is all my files
You need to chose the Partition your Operating System is on, but if things don't work per the video you might want to stop and not proceed as I'm not sure what could happen at this point.
@@thatbeanmachine If your referring to the video there are a couple different ways to have Windows installed, Legacy or UEFI. UEFI is the newer one and will be needed if you plan to run Windows 11, otherwise legacy is just fine.
I can't even enter command prompt it asks for a password and every time I try it's wrong even after changing to an account with zero password it wants a password
whenever i try to use the advanced options command prompt it asks me to login to one of the accounts but it keeps saying the password is incorrect,i ve also tried resetting the microsoft password and the administrator password from command prompt, what password is it asking for?
Not certain, it sounds like its asking for your Microsoft Account Password. Try right clicking on the Cmd Prompt and run as administrator that might solve it and it won't ask for a password.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPMi tried using the mbr2gpt command on the normal cmd promt and it kept telling me to run the /allowFullOS command and when i did it told me its not a real command
Not an expert with this stuff but if your getting errors when going through the steps to determine if its going to work or not, and you tried running cmd prompt as administrator then only thing left might be restarting over. Otherwise not sure.
I had an interesting problem come up, i went through all the steps and the boot drive is now GPT but there are still only 3 partitions. Also upon doing the health check everything passes but when going to updates, to download windows 11 it says it is not compatible. I have looked up the issue and people say to "wait a few days" and then check again but i find that to be a strange approach.
Yeah that doesn't sound right, if you reboot your PC and it hasn't changed, then I would be very surprised to see it different in a few days. However anything is possible I guess.
Maybe you know why my (left shift+ restart) menu looks different, after pressing troobleshoot i only get a text list of 9 things, not the same icons as in the video?
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM was not the case. I just used the command while windows was on normally with the added /allowfullos. Even then it took me a couple of tries.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM Yes, I was trying to convert from MBR to GPT only running CMD as administrator but in my current user session, and it failed in all the tries, but, following your steps, accessing the CMD in this "troubleshooting mode", it worked! Thanks, dude, I really do appreciate your help 😉
hi, i changed my chipset from core i3 to intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3740QM, and the options for UEFI reverted back to legacy mode, though im in UEFI and i cant find the TPM which turns it enabled
I'm not familiar with why that would happen, or where in the BIOS for an Intel Product to locate the TPM to enable it, you'll need to do some searching unfortunately.
I have an issue, I have 3 drives on my pc, hdd as disk 0, ssd “main OS” as disk 1, and another ssd on disk 2, I tried to follow but I receive the error that I can’t make the change from mgr to gpt, how can I pick what disk to change mbr to gpt?
The easy way would be to just disconnect them until you make the switch on the main drive with the OS on it, then plug the others back in. You only need to convert the OS Drive not the others. There is also a program called Minitool Partition Wizard that might help you convert it. Whatever method you decide make sure you backup any data in case something goes wrong.
Every MB BIOS has an Advanced tab, if your not seeing it there are some BIOS that have an advanced at the bottom, try using F7 to see if it'll open to the Advanced Mode. Hope that helps.
I have a Dell XPS 8930 in legacy. I have no secure mode or TPM listed. You’re video is the best I’ve seen for simplifying the mbr/uefi conversion!! TH@NKS!! Now I have to find out if I can download/install TPM2 with this bios chip…… What a pain. If I knew Dell set the chip that way, I would not have bought this otherwise decent computer…. But thanks again prof for the lesson👍👌
Converting my drive to gpt did not work this way and I had instead used a different method. Once it was converted, I followed the rest of the steps but then my computer blue screened and keeps giving me the error 0xc000000e
Yeah unfortunately that's a Windows error, to try and fix it there are a few options: Rebuild the BCD (Boot Configuration Data) file (this is an advanced step so be careful), do the Automatic Repair Steps, check physical device connections. Reset the BIOS or UEFI settings. (Again an advanced Step) or just let Windows perform startup repair. Hope one of those will help you out.
Is it possible to go back to legacy from uefi? I switched to uefi on my drive but didn’t realize my motherboard was too old to support uefi. Any way to convert back to legacy?
Yes, but its a very lengthy process. If you use copilot and search "Is it possible to go back to legacy from UEFI" it will give you a detailed answer on how to do it step by step. Hope that helps.
Check that there is enough free space on your HD that is a common reason for this. There are more as well, maybe if that doesn't work try a search for the error msg and see the other solutions. Good Luck.
That is more than enough, at least it should be. If you search the error msg and then other reasons don't help then you should backup your data and could re-install your OS being careful to chose UEFI vice legacy. Wish I could think of more. Hope it works out.
Have the gaming 2 version and the validate worked but on convert it failed. Almost like it was on a different drive. If you know what maybe wrong please help. Thanks in advance
Sorry for late reply, but try finding out which drive has your OS on it, then disconnect the other drives and try again. That way you'll be sure if it worked.

Just the Boot Drive, and thanks much appreciated.
Thank you so much, you make me able to upgrade my system to Windows 11 !!!
You're very welcome. Glad I could help. Have a great day!
W11 ready. Thanks Dennis!!
You bet. Glad it helped. Have a great day!
I can't even enter command prompt it asks for a password and every time I try it's wrong even after changing to an account with zero password it wants a password
Yeah not sure what can be done at that point.
I have same problem! Any fix?
Disable bitlocker
Thankyou legend worked exactly as you showed been stuck for a bit thanks heaps 🙏🏻
Glad to hear it. Thanks
whenever i try to use the advanced options command prompt it asks me to login to one of the accounts but it keeps saying the password is incorrect,i ve also tried resetting the microsoft password and the administrator password from command prompt, what password is it asking for?
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM i got it to work i just had to make a new administrator local user, thank you though,
Glad it worked out. Have a great day!
Great video. Thank you for the clear instructions.
Glad it helped. Have a great day!
holy your actually amazing love this!
Glad it helped you out. Thanks very much.
Its possible that your already running in UEFI Mode and don't need to change anything.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM was not the case. I just used the command while windows was on normally with the added /allowfullos. Even then it took me a couple of tries.
Glad you got it working.
Thanks a lot! It worked for me! My mistake was trying to convert without access the cmd in recovery mode.🎉
I didn't need to use recovery mode for mine but interesting to know though. Thanks
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
Yes, I was trying to convert from MBR to GPT only running CMD as administrator but in my current user session, and it failed in all the tries, but, following your steps, accessing the CMD in this "troubleshooting mode", it worked! Thanks, dude, I really do appreciate your help 😉
I'm very happy it worked out for you. You have an amazing day!
The best video so far 👍🏼 thank you very much.
Wow, thanks so much. Appreciate that.
hi, i changed my chipset from core i3 to intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3740QM, and the options for UEFI reverted back to legacy mode, though im in UEFI and i cant find the TPM which turns it enabled
I don’t have advanced options when i hit troubleshoot, help me please
Every MB BIOS has an Advanced tab, if your not seeing it there are some BIOS that have an advanced at the bottom, try using F7 to see if it'll open to the Advanced Mode. Hope that helps.
Thanks, your video was great help, been trying to load window 11 for a month.
Really gad it helped you out. Enjoy the new Operating System. Thanks
Glad it helped you out, hope things with the TPM work out for you. Have a great day.
Hello, when I try to use the "mbr2gpt" command, "failed to retrieve geometry for disk" appears. help me i can't solve it
Check that there is enough free space on your HD that is a common reason for this. There are more as well, maybe if that doesn't work try a search for the error msg and see the other solutions. Good Luck.
I have 124 gb free space, how much is enough?@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
That is more than enough, at least it should be. If you search the error msg and then other reasons don't help then you should backup your data and could re-install your OS being careful to chose UEFI vice legacy. Wish I could think of more. Hope it works out.
Thank you bro, you are cool🤝@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
Thanks
You beauty!!! Thanks so much. That was the fix I needed
Glad I could help!
What does it mean when us says cannot find OS partition(s) for disk 0
It means it can't find the default Boot entry, or partition.
Probably same thing I have your boot drive is not disk 0.
Sir i got no booted device found on my Aspire e15 please sir help
This process doesn't wipe data, so you might need to check the boot device in your BIOS to make sure its active.
Great video man had been struggling with windows
Glad you liked it, hope it helped you out.
Wonderful! You really helped me. Everything works. Thanks a lot.
You're very welcome. Happy to have helped.
