Obviously the game has a bit of a learning curve so it has to be nice for new players to understand what's important and what's not. I remember my first character in Synthesis league - a dominating blow guardian. It took me 16 hours to clear the campaign. 💪

I think if you found a mod, or someone trusted from your community that would be willing to jump in a discord call with you, with the obvious understanding that you're also interacting with chat, sometimes needing to focus on boss fights etc. but someone that could prompt you with questions or something like that as you went through I think it could add a lot of value, offer a different perspective, and also remove some level of burden from yourself.

Finished following along. It was the smoothest campign I have ever done, your video really helped. I wrote down some comments about it:
I ran out of mana at almost the exact same time in the vaal boss, it was exactly like happened in the video.
Yes, the video really helped me not to hoard as much, and I was surprised how faster I was analising items after you told that the only stats that we were looking for was attack speed and resistances. Now I understand how you can look at items so fast.
I picked up the primal spirit early and it really helped with the mana annoyances, at times when you were complaining I was having no issue at all. So if anyone reads this comment, pick that node if you are following the guide, it will make leveling smoother

Hey Ziz, you asked in the video for people following along if watching the series helped to not hoard items. I think for the most part, it did. I cleared and picked up way more than you did. But I felt I was fairly easily able to sort through my items and vendor quickly. Stashing pretty much just currency and uniques. Although I'm noticing that a ton of rares are dropping and probably stuck to picking up every single one for too long.
One thing I wasn't too sure about, and might be helpful in the future is what stats can roll on what gear and which of those are important. I know you proved you don't really need anything beyond basic gear to beat the campaign, but it would be good I think to have a basic introduction, while leveling, to the important stats and on which pieces of gear I can find them.
From what I gathered watching this video, movespeed is good on boots, off-stats on belt/amulet(to reach stat requirements) is good, and all res on most pieces is good until cap. And I think max life is pretty important? But I'm not sure of much past that. Do I need to stack one defensive stat? Layer them? Do I want stun recovery? Max mana / mana regen? Stuff like that. Maybe all of those are useless while leveling and then depend on the build.
Anyways, thank you for doing this series, it was a massive help. The game was and still is overwhelming, but I feel like this video allowed me to get my foot in the door and play my first league with crucible. I'm only on act 7, but still, that's much further than I've ever gotten trying the game without a guide.

These are so useful for new players. I'm leveling alongside it and periodically rewinding to keep it in step with my own play. I wouldn't do this for every league, but new players SHOULD do this for their first league. I have seen so many comments about how this game is too complicated, and it's not, because it's great if you want to dump 10k hours into it, but I get how it is overwhelming at hour 1-500. These guides bridge that gap.
It would be a huge service to the game, and a mutually beneficial arrangement, if content creators made these for every league and GGG linked to the best ones as signposts for new players. As a software developer, this is the kind of video that sets my mind on fire thinking of all the kinds of cool ways this could be integrated with the game itself.
Please keep doing these. Please show this comment to GGG if you see it. They are missing a huge opportunity to slice through the complexity here. PoE is _SUCH A GREAT GAME_. It should be more popular than it is. Nobody should even be thinking about Diablo 4 unless they're like you and already have 20k+ hours in this game.

If I found this guide earlier I would have started playing POE before. Thanks for explaining everything, also I did not horde. One thing that would have been even more helpful for me while watching is if Ziz could announce what zones he is transitioning too as he is moving through. I tended to get lost in maps and would fall behind, a several times I would be a few zones behind and looking for the transition point to a non-connected zone.

Loving the time and energy you put into thus training. First time POE (was mysteriously teleported here from Diablo IV) and really enjoying the game!
The challenge I am running into is it can be difficult to follow you at times when you are rolling on upgrading gear. You do it so fast and smoothly and quickly move on.
I'm left wondering what you did and why you did it. It would be super helpful if you explained what you are doing, why, how, and what the end result ends up being.
Nothing fancy required. Currently, I'm having to pause, rewind, try to follow and I usually end up having zoom in on the part in question when your mouse is hovering over the item for me to understand what you actually did. Doesn't always work and it's very tricky with a video this long as well as watching it on a cell phone.
Anyhoozle.. again, really appreciate the indepth training. It's been a great introduction to the game and the mechanics. 3.5 hours in and staying until the end!

I was really struggling with understanding how look for gear as I progressed through the acts and following along with this video was extremely helpful. I’m not sure if you’ve made a video yet about this but I would find it very helpful if you discussed what stats do and what each build uses. Unfortunately, skills and gems don't always do what they say they do so I'd get frustrated wondering why builds aren't working like they are supposed to. This is especially frustrating because you cannot change a build easily and often not at all because there aren't enough refund points to fix mistakes. Yes, you can watch videos and follow guides but without the understanding of why, it just wasn't fun or rewarding. Especially since they don't explain WHY they are doing it; I'm guessing so they maintain that competitive edge.
This video finally allowed me to understand fully the WHY as I leveled up and played. I didn't know which items have what mats and I didn't know if I needed that white mats later so I picked up EVERYTHING and went to town often breaking up the pace and just not making the game as fun.
Buying ALL the stash tabs did help a great deal in organizing everything and really made playing the game so much easier and fun.
Again, thank you for making this video. I think I'll give this league a go.

I know these videos are really successful and do help new players but, as a newer player, glossing over a lot of the more basic stuff can be confusing for new players or new gamers in general. I think a little more time should be spent on the basics as they come at the very beginning could leave fewer questions for players as you introduce more systems.
    -
Mentioning path of building and settings changes at the start is good but it can be a little daunting if you aren't specific about what explicitly should be changed/ what doesn't matter.
Be clear that you can use the basic attack whenever.
As you attack the boss say that your skills will use mana and the quickest way to restore mana and any lost health are the flasks which you kill to refill.
And explain that in addition to armor, evasion, and shield (and the basics of how those work), magic items will have bonus stats that you need to identify in order to use. I know it's pretty self-explanatory and obvious but some people may need to be told that. Magic and rare items can drop right away and knowing the importance of them can also make currencies values more understandable when those come up.
Also, console is definitely a small part of the audience but maybe mentioning the differences at the start could help some players. Like when you start getting more skills (3+), say that console players will have to reassign things with right thumbstick and they can use triggers to access more skills.

In the first 3 minutes this video has answered an issue I've had with this game forever...attacking while moving and rebinding those keys...that's so simple but something new players just wouldn't know.

I havent watched the video yet, but just wanted to comment that I really love these style of videos. Both Everything Explained, and the Play With Me videos. I don't generally tune into many livestreams due to my schedule, and triyng to scroll through vods to see content thats interesting with little down time can be difficult. SO even though these are very long, its a nice slice of content to keep around for someone who cant make it to live streams, even if I know most of the info by now

If you are a new player i have a word of advice "get armor". As a stat armor is the most effective form of defence in the first 3 acts, with Scale Vest being the best pice you can get right away giving you about 40% damage reduction against white mobs ( and those are the majority in the first 2 acts) and about 20% chance to evade. You will see most streamers running around without armor or shield because each of those gear slots give you -3% movment speed and streamers gotta go fast. Don't do that, you'll have a lot better time with the game if you avoid frustration of dying. It may require you get the amber amulet if youre starting on the right side of the tree but if you spare a bit of time opening a few chests on your way you will have no problems.
