I do not like ropes because they are difficult to tighten. That's why I prefer the pull to tighten straps. Ratchet straps are too much of a pain to use. But you must also have a smooth rock/divot free floor. Another secret I use is I push the dolly with my foot first in the direction I wanted to go.
Did you ever have the problem of one side moving up or down when you go to the opposite side to move it off the casters. Meaning, I go to one side to move the handle down then go to the other side and as I move the handle it moves the other handle the opposite way. I had to find a 20 lb weight to hold the lever down, then I can slowly do the other lever to the down position to get the motorcycle off.
I now have that problem , lock down one end of dolly , lock down other end of dolly and the 1st end comes back up ,don't know why. It will be a mission when it's a little warmer.
@@lkeirnan I have just found a solution. Put one end down move the other end to touch with my foot and then kick it as fast and hard as I can they both stay down. Hope this helps. Did you install the extensions to the handles?
Plan CI I use an extension on the lock handle. put the rear down 1st take the extension slip it through the lock where's my guides on it stops the lever from coming up when I flip the front lever
I bought same dolly from Harbor Freight - had to return it because kickstand on my 2002 Roadking extended out too far beyond length of the kickstand tray. I noticed I think you had same problem but you bolted a piece of steel at end on top of your tray, tight? Because that will cause your bike to lean less, does it still lean over enough without being strapped or do you then have to secure the bike with the strap because it otherwise will not lean enough?
The bike still leans enough to be safe but I strap it down just to be safe when I move the dolly . Sometimes takes a pretty good kick on the dolly to get it to move.
Great mods to the dolly! Always thinking of a better way to do something.

I used 1/8 thick steel. RUclips will not let me send an attachment as a picture for the alignment wings.
what do you think about adding or tying a rope to the front and back of dolly to maneuver it or pull it around??

I easily fit my 2002 Road King, 2018 Deluxe and 2020 Street Glide on this exact dolly with no problem at all.
