    Teagan Earley (Athena) and Jorge actually met in college. They both went to the University of Notre Dame together and she's been part of EPIC since the beginning. She didn't have to audition, and she sang for many of the other female vocal demos before Jorge found other vocalists for the female characters.
    You should check out her music under the artist name TE/MO!

    In Epic when Athena is Talking to her 'hero' it's called "Quick Thought" so you're right thinking about "You're Out of my head now" is very much Ody meaning that literally.

    To be fair to Odyseuss, she started the conversation with blaming his freshly murdered friends death on him. Then later proceed to to taunt him with the voices of those who died because of him. Not the way to start off a civil conversation.
    But you both are right when you said that Odyseuss is bold to try telling off a goddess, and that he came into the relationship with different intentions than what she wanted. No matter if both parties grew close, it's not what their situation started as.

      Yea they always had a difference in what they thought they were to each other. Odysseus had always considered Athena to be a friend. Which is why he's able to tell her off. She sees him as a pupil/student so in a sence this is her saying she won't teach him. And Odysseus just saying he won't take what she thinks into consideration anymore. Very smart lyrics

    This song is definetly one of my favorites out of the saga. And what I really enjoy about the animatic and the different ppl creating them, is the different possible perspectives/takes. Like with this one, Athena is just fed up and like, “since you don’t want to listen, I don’t have to deal with this” like who cares. But then in another it’s like Athena is upset and more annoyed with his choices and struggles with saying goodbye to him because even though she’s upset she doesn’t necessarily want to end their relationship and since Ody basically agrees to the breakup she’s too prideful to go back on her word.
    And they just about physically fight each other which I thought was cool too. Almost like a brother and sister arguing.
    If that makes any sense lol there’s just so much awesome creativeness going along with this amazingly written musical!

    Its also so ironic that ody killed a baby just because zeus told him to, but he was merciful to the cyclops. Yes the baby was prophezised to kill his family, hut the cyclops had already killed his friends, and he was being told by his life-long godly patron that mercy was the wrong move.

    • @arcticlimbo
      @arcticlimbo Месяц назад +4

      I mean he didn't want to kill the baby. The ironic part your mentioning is he's told by gods both times. It wasnt just Zeus being like "yo this kid is bad" God's know things, he didnt just kill the baby because his buddy said so or something 🤣🤣🤣 also he didn't listen to Athena a GOD, because he thought he knew better or at least could try to be better. So he trys teaching the Cyclops about mercy. But that does not go as Odysseus plans. Also mercy isn't the wrong move, it's how he acted to show mercy. I won't spoil it just incase you or this channel doesn't know yet. But you'll find out in the next saga why Athena wanted the Cyclops dead. Killing the Cyclops was still mercy, to the Cyclops AND Odysseus

    • @MrSlothJunior
      @MrSlothJunior Месяц назад +2

      Well, that's the big difference. He was made very aware that the baby had yet to do all the damage it was meant to do. The cyclops on the other hand had already done its damage.
      With the baby, he is shown a vision and Zeus takes time to make it very clear how the gods will make sure that the baby will come and ruin Ody's life.
      With the cyclops, Athena just tells him that an opponent is still a threat until it's dead. No more information. Her order and the reasoning behind it don't seem nearly as thought through and final.
      I don't really see the irony. If he had killed a harmless creature despite no one telling him to, and he then spared a dangerous one while being told to kill it, I would call it ironic.

    Odysseus didn't really have to kill Polyphemus ( The Cyclops ) because if you remember correctly in ' Remember Them ' he was about to leave he said '' Let's grab the ship and away we go '' but Athena's intervention made him angry , and resulted in him telling them where he lives and his name, because he was already grieving his fallen comrade and angry but decided to leave nonetheless and Athena comes in and ask him to go fight Polyphemus again to kill him when he wasn't even a threat anymore since Polyphemus was blind, didn't know anything about Odysseus and his crew and literally thought his name was Nobody which made him snap because fighting him again to kill him would put more lives on the line since as you know there were other Cyclops who were even bigger and stronger than Polyphemus nearby and it was not even necessary ( but this is just my opinion )

    Quick little thing, in the Livestream for the new audio of the Cyclops Saga, after Ody says "You're alone!" There's a caption that says "*this hurts Athena.*"
    So it is canon, at least for the time being, who knows if he'll change his mind before the final product is made, Athena is emotionally hurt by Ody's words. Which shows the gods, and/or at the very least Athena, are more human in this story than most people tend to give them credit for.

    This song is easily one of the most crushing ones to me. At the time, Odysseus lost a mentor he grew to see as a friend since she was around for half of his life, basically raising him. On top of that, she left him after he finally lost men _after ten years of war_ , one of which was his childhood best friend. (“Your dead friends can attest.” Girl…).
    And Athena dropped someone who didn’t live up to her expectations. (Even though it’s honestly half her fault he lashed out). It’s very characteristic of the gods, but dang it still hurts to this day.
    Animatic aside, in the audio you can hear how both were clearly ripping each other to shreds. The way Odysseus’ instrument kicks up to an electric guitar when he starts going at him. Athena bringing down the piano and full vocals at the end. _Dang_ .(Wolfy’s work without a doubt adds more pain when you can see their faces).

    Teagan truly is so talented. That goes for all the cast really but I have to say Teagan is in my top three for this musical. Every time she sings I get super excited.
    Oh My Goodbye… I understand where both of them are coming from to some extent. Athena is right, Ody was incredibly reckless with some of his choices made in this saga. HOWEVER! Athena came at this all wrong. The man is grieving the loss of his men and she just comes in like “wow bro, you really messed that up and let your emotions lead.” So of course Ody gets defensive, fires back at her which only drives the wedge deeper.
    Hubris and poor communication. Truly the downfall of so much.

    Not sure if you caught it, but Athena’s riff at the end on my goodbye and singing the last “goodbye” straight is a callback to her meeting Odysseus (in warrior of the mind she sing a straight tone and after Ody did a playful riff, she did the same). So in this case it could be interpreted as her leaving Ody or becoming strangers, because (to me) it came of as “here, take back your human playfulness” …

    In the part where athena is singing "One Day, you'll hear what I'm saying ... when it leads up to "Just A Man" ... look at the characters in the background... especially on the right side... you will see Polites ... he's also holding the infant ... (I have read that all the ones you see behind athena are either those who have died or who are important to Odysseus... so that confirms of course that he dropped the infant from the wall in the troy saga and of course polites is killed by Polyphemus... the other two you see on the left side are to represent Penelope and Telemachus (or however his name is spelled)... and side note ... not a spoiler per se ... but I am anxious for you to get to the newest released saga (The Wisdom Saga) ... All I will say is this ... think about what kind of Goddess Athena is... (Hint, Hint -- I think it was Warrior of the mind in which it is said Goddess of ________, Master of War) ... Anyway... as always ... awesome reaction ... hope to see you continue with the other sagas ... and DJ ... you mentioned someone earlier (their name starts with a P) that we haven't seen (Yet)

    Anyway, meme recommendations aside, I loved your analysis of this one, you hit the nail exactly on the head on the nature of their relationship, of Ody being so comfortable to call her out because he considered them friends and equals, and Athena considering them goddess mentor and mortal student, but caring for him more than she’s willing to admit - even to herself. This was a fantastic reaction, I loved both how into the music you were and the analysis of the story. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the Ocean Saga. :D

    Tegan has some very powerful songs.. her mother series of songs is painful but great.
    yes George gives a tick toc release of snip its of the songs with direction of what is happing that the animators base there animatics off of. when a new saga is released they do a live stream with small snip its of different animators and what they have come up with. then they the animators do what they can and make there interpretations of them myself i have listened to all the parts of the songs that are out there and the pre-release is George singing most the lines himself for everyone and Tegan also dose some of the prototype pre release parts. My favorite animator is "GIGI" .. one thing to watch out for is some animatics are not complete so make sure you check the song length vs the animatic length
