I almost didn't give it a chance, I generally don't like covers of such greats, but I am sooooo glad I did. SUCH a good job, I've never heard a better cover.
I have become OBSESSED by THIS live version, of one of the GREATEST and most technically DEMANDING rock songs of all time! It's not just anybody who can take on "The Dan" and faithfully hang with it. BRILLIANT guys! Absolutely AMAZING! Thank you
It's not that technical or demanding. Try Black Page II or Greggery Peccary. Or Free Hand. (ruclips.net/video/vMrYSTzqFI8/видео.html) Steely Dan was a little better than average. These songs are technical and very demanding.
Check out the note perfect live version by the ORIGINAL guitarist for the song Elliot Randall : ruclips.net/video/vKunqSLItsg/видео.html&ab_channel=DarrellNutt
Yes, great sound but complete idiots on video. I actually got dizzy from all the shot switching towards the end. Why couldnt they just stay on the person playing lead when it was his time? It looked like they had no idea who to put the camera on.
You never know what you are going yo get when you click on a band that you didn't know. I sure am glad on clicked on this one. I am now going to view and listen to all of The Classic Rock Show videos.
Let’s not forget the guy that brought the original Steely Dan recording alive with his magnificent guitar playing . His name? Mr Elliot Randall . A wonderful and extremely humble and gifted guitar player. Thank you Elliot 🌌💕🌠🕊👌
Forget the snobbery re cover bands.....this fine bunch play, look, sound fantastic, and are much better than many outfits still touring with only one or two original members on board.
@@stratodanster Agreed, a lot of bands play their songs Live and change them around/make a mess of them. These guys are nigh on perfect and seem to be able to play anything!
Most bands have no business trying to do Steely Dan, and it's almost always painful... they're too nuanced and quirky. This isn't as gutsy as the Dan, but they pull it off damn faithfully and with amazing attention to detail. Respect.
This song was part of the soundtrack to my childhood and this is one of the best live renditions I’ve ever heard. I’m also a musician and note for note, they really captured the essence of the studio recording here live! Great job
What ever they choose to play they Kill It~!! They are very special and we can't get enough~! Jess's Femininity is something to behold~!! Not to mention her singing ability~!
Like I said on another one of their covers, they can all take turns at being back-up singers as almost all the band members can play front man/woman on the various songs they have recorded. So refreshing to see such a class act.
Steve Parry is not only the keyboardist and singer here, but also the musical director. He should be able to play with anybody anywhere, but he does a great job with this ensemble. Well done on a difficult song, Mr. Parry!
THANK YOU for keeping the music alive for all of us that lived thru the great 70s. And those that love it now. Your songs bring back so many wonderful memories. What a great tribute you pay to so many awesome artists. You guys Rock! \m/
The Classic Rock Show; briljant. can't wait to travel at least two times from The Netherlands to the UK in January / February to see them perform live!
This group sounds absolutely great, and you can tell they've put in the hard work to learn and properly pay tribute to the music. Great vocals, bassist and guitarist especially!
fantastic you guys... you put your own soul and heart at this piece of art "Reelin in the years" you hear like if the song were a new one.... extraordinary, saludos desde Chih. Mx.
Best performance of this song since I saw Steely Dan do it live on a Sunday evening April 21, 1974 at the University of Toledo's old Memorial Fieldhouse. No female backing vocalists that night but they had the mighty pipes of future legend Michael McDonald, and that was enough. Advance tickets were $4.50.
love the young guy on lead guitar...kick ass duuuuuude...you made the classic better.....kick asss dude... aw3esome group.... the hairy hippie is the best guitarist I have seen on YT for years... thanks dude.
@@ducatiboy4951 Awesome to know, I raced moto way back in the day, I still have my 500cc Yamaha 2-stroke...lol, made a few people come to tears when they tried to ride it....

Booked to see them in February next year at Newcastle (UK) think the tour is UK only. This will be the sixth time seeing them and although line ups alter slightly they still blow me away. Stay safe mate.
I'm not alone, I see others are saying it too. When I realised it wasn't Steely Dan I went to choose another video but this is SO good I played it over three times!

I am just ecstatic that we have this band to play all the true rock songs so we don’t have to listen to the crap that’s out now. YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!!
@@gazzzza 🤡
@@gazzzza lol 4 chords that riff
Best cover band I have ever heard!
same here, I grew up with the classics they play. Amazing and so fun.
Lexington Lab Band and Leonid & Friends are also excellent.
RE-SPECT. Dan is tough to play and make sound this effortless, their music is so sophisticated and clever. Well played everyone.
Steely Dan is technically complicated to play, and Donald Fagan's voice isn't easy to cover. They did a great job.
You nailed it brother.
@@gazzzza Agreed, the guitar solo was butchered.
I agree completely! Great job!!
Well spoken!.
Damn. Spot on. That shit was flawless. Exceptionally well-recorded I might add.
C'mon, guys...how can you be this fricking good?!
Incredible band & performers. I'd much rather go see them that the crap out there today. Keep rocking.
Brilliant job from the soundengineer!

Is there anything these guys can't play? .... brilliant!
it doesn't look like windo, and they pick very hard stuff to do
Nope!
Something from Santana 😬
windomaker they played Hammer to Fall with Brian May!!!!!! BRIAN FUCKING MAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I clicked on this thinking.. Oh boy they're going to try to cover Steely Dan.. Wow great job. Harmonies and everything.
They did indeed Scott, have you listened to the Lexington Lab Band doing Steely Dan ?
Can't believe all these fantastic cover bandsout there. Another Awesome one here. CRANKSHAFT

this band really really rocks! I wonder if there is any other band which renders covers with such perfection... Kudos to this band!
Excellent. Really enjoyed the group vocals. That gave the live sound great depth.
Kudos to the rhythm section. Many bands try to play this song but can’t recreate the groove. This band does it quite well.
