Where did you meet? His wife was in college - he had a party at his house - a close friend brought her to a party to introduce to his roommate and she ditched the roommate for Eric
What do you do/Work?
Erik - Construction Project Manager
McKenzi- Account Manager for a promotional products company
Why Scotty’s song for your first dance?
Really resonated with them when the song came out. Hit home - everything about the song was relatable to them
Family is scattered up all over the country - don’t see each other that often.. were looking forward to family and friends together with the wedding and to set up their life moving forward And then COVID
My wife and I got married on June 16, 2020, but not at all how we expected.
We got engaged on August 13, 2018, and planned on getting married in the spring of 2019. We ended up purchasing our first house just months before and we couldn’t financially handle buying a house and paying for a wedding in the same year so we pushed our wedding to 2020. My wife’s mother passed away from cancer before our wedding and my wife almost didn’t want to have a wedding anymore without her mom. With the help of our family and friends we convinced her to continue the wedding as planned, then Covid-19 came and no one could travel to make it to the wedding. We ended up just having a ceremony with my parents and her dad.
“This is it” was supposed to be the first dance we never had.
