The light show during this song was truly terrific on the 87 tour. It's nice on the video, but nothing compared to what it looked like in the hall when they opened the show with it.

One of my fave tracks, even better live! I've never seen video from this tour and they did a great set. I used to have a Westwood One broadcast of this tour from Portland, OR. but alas, it's long gone. Thanks for uploading this!
Back in the Eighties I used to take amateur b&w pictures in concerts with my Nikon F2.That Heart show in '87 was the one I wasn't allowed in with my camera. I was told to leave it at the guarded wardrobe. Reluctantly I did that and asked for the reason. "Miss Wilson just doesn't want to be photographed." I'm quite sure that was about Ann. When I saw her on stage I was surprised to see that she had visibly gained weight.That fact was new to me back then and I thought that she just avoided to be pictured in an inadequate, unprofessional way by some kids in the crowd. I was fine with that interpretation - that she simply wanted to keep control over the way she was pictured. It was a great show and after that I was glad to have my camera back.
There are a lot of bad concert pictures of Ann from those days floating around, and I heard her say one time she didn't mind pictures being taken at the beginning of a show, but late in the show when they are all sweating from the lights with makeup running she didn't like having pictures taken. I would imagine the lack of picture taking came more from Heart's management than Ann. They were much more protective of her and were the ones at the time really trying to keep her weight from being a topic of discussion. That's why you never saw Heart booked on talk shows and live TV appearances and there were no live concert videos between about 1987 and 1993. By '93 Ann had enough of the pretention and decided people could take her or leave her (according Heart's manager during the 2000s). It's such BS that was ever an issue because her voice is so great.
@@k.wilkie3814 Thx for the additional perspective. I guess many people, including myself, often tend to underestimate the powerful influence a management can sometimes have on a band.
@@geraldj.1943 In those days especially management called all the shots. Very little was left up to the band. In fact, according to Heart's manager in the 2000s , their 1980s-era management realized Ann's weight was an issue before Ann did, and they were taking precautions when Ann had no idea why certain precautions were being taken. In the 80s image was almost more important than the music; that all changed in the 90s thankfully.

On the other hand: seems like a hyperprofessional and seriously dedicated management... perhaps a bit too much of it all, to say the least. All too often we think of rockstars having nothing but fun and making lots of money but in fact it's hard work full of stress and strain, great expectations, "endless compromises" - and the possible failure is always present.

I've loved these girls since the beginning. I live near Seattle and used to invite 'The Seattle Sisters over for BBQs. (They never actually showed up, but we all had a great time listening to old Heart songs and getting drunk 😉)
Seeing this live was amazing. Went with my aunt in '87, ever since then I've been a diehard Heart fan. They know how to put on a concert!!! And yes... at the time the light show was amazing. Good for 1987, I'm 38 now!
I’ll never forget the opening of this concert. It was 1987 in Worcester Massachusetts, my first concert ever. Suddenly the darkness turned to bright lights with Ann belting “they walk into the lobby”

One of my all time favorite tours. Was at Joe Louis Arena in 1987 Ted Nugent jumped on stage at the end and they jammed rock n roll by Zeppelin🤘💕

I have such a hard time finding old heart concerts from the early 80's to the late 80's on vhs or dvd... have never had much luck....Is it just me?
There is nothing official. A few unofficial sources are on DVD-r, but these are the same shows as on RUclips, mainly 1990-ish.
This is the best tune on that album in my opinion, but it doesn't sound as good live.
I was at this concert in Chapel Hill NC on 10-30-87... pretty cool show.. they had jack o lanterns on the stage.
Just got the bad animals vinyl today and immediately had to look up this from memories of yesterday
