Is there anything else you need in Kill Team other than to have lady luck bless your dice ? There doesn't seem to be much strategy other than knowing how you should use your command points.

It starts by making your team, this is less important for say, space Marines because they are GW's golden boys, but for the other factions there is an element of design and choice. Then it's plavement: what do you place where, where do they go, distances, choices. Do I go for melee or ranged, and other choices depending on army.
I love when previous games are referenced! Seriously that's my favourite thing about warhammer 40k, asking people what happened in their version of the grimdark future.

The War itself was when the Chapter master of the Astral Claws when a bit tyrannical and seceded from the Imperium. He then got the Lamenters and Mantis Warriors involved saying the “Imperium was infringing on Astartes autonomy”. The Claws turned against the imperium actually falling to Chaos this time and after many losses to Astartes and IG forces the Imperium won and the Claws now Corsairs were exiled into the Maelstrom where they now reside. And someone apparently decided to revive the chapter which went about as you’d expect.
Custodes have a 4+ invuln save in KillTeam just like in regular 40k. It also didn't matter much, but you roll dice equal to the dmg value of the attack that put you at 0 wounds. Dmg 2 weapon takes you to 0? Roll 2 dice and if any of those is a 4+ the model is out of action. Your opponent kept rolling only one dice.
Yeah the Middle Custode should not be dead, which changes the entire game! If you played this game correctly the Steve would have more than definitely lost.
You can even field Custodes allarus terminators. They are so expensive the whole Custodes have a special rule that allows them to field only two models if they want to.
So, I understand they're playing for fun, but custodes have a 4+ invul, you roll wound rolls equal to the damage of the weapon, the custodes could be specialists as it costs no points, and the custodes have free access to misericordias, for an extra, weaker melee attack.
Yeah, this should have honestly been an easy custodes win. Especially because they also kept using Death Denied at 2CP. The editor noticed obviously, but it still made a massive impact in the game.

They are kind of inconsistent in their use of the rule that determines the amount of dice used for injury rolls aka out of action tests in their other videos. Sometimes they use multiple dice, sometimes not. Feels cheaty if maybe even not intended
@@alexwinter7470 I did actually just see a comment of theirs that they did use multiple dice, but they slow rolled a few, and it was edited without them realizing it would be confusing.
Yeah, it is definitely a little confusing. We totally see that now. When you edit a game down how we do, sometimes things get lost in translation. We snip a little too much to make things quick and easy to watch. There is a delicate balance and it is something we are always striving to get right :)

This channel is the best quick Battle Report channel out there. Winters SEO has the perfect Theme/Lore/story buildup of every battle. Tabletop Tactics has the team comradely and previously the legendary BBONE But PlayOn has the excellent editing and simplification nailed down to focus on all the great moments and has side-interview style commentary that really tie it all together. The production level is almost unmatched.

There's no more dice throwns nor a cut where it could have happened, so I seriously doubt that's what happened (also, that'd just make it more confusing as Injurty is just one roll)

Very nice match, as always. This is my favourite show on Play On Tabletop. Thisnis your year Steve! Just some points I want to clarify, because perhaps I got wrong the rules (won't point out the 2 CP Death Denied XD!): 1) I thought you could shoot just 1 grenade per phase and I think on turn 4 Steve shot 2 krak grenades with 2 different models; 2) I thought multidamage weapons do more injury rolls. E.g.: a weapon damage 3 rolls 3 dice for the injury roll and picks the highest (that's why multidamage weapons are so bad vs Necrons). Anyway, as always an amazing episode and hope you Sreve enjoys more playing with Chaos Space Marines!

Yeah more kill Team! Heart almost dropped when I thought Steve was risking those beautiful astral claws. FYI you had a a few of significant rules mistakes that impacted the outcome of the match. - When a multi-damage attack removes a models last would, the injury roll should be made using a number of dice equal to the attack’s damage characteristic and then take the highest (Core, page 32) - Grenade weapons can only be used once per phase regardless of the number of models equipped with them (Core, page 30). This applies to the Auxiliary Grenade Launcher on your Intercessor Gunner’s since it only adds range to Grenade attacks (Core, page 85; Annual, page 102) - Battle Forged Custodes Kill Teams get access to Emperor’s Chosen ability which improves their invulnerable saves by 1 to max of 3+ (Elites, Page 56)
They make a LOT of mistakes in this series. It also looked like the custodes player measure directly forward for his guy on the boxes first move when in reality he would have to measure down 3 / 4 inches aswell.
Only a couple of minutes in, but to be fair, the custodian on the box can just jump down; it’s a free action that costs no movement. So just measuring straight across is fine in that instance.

Kill team just seems like rolling dice at each other. I like the mobility tactics and strategy of the bigger 40K games. Always great production quality though
@@viperbsg62 The custode player never used their invulnerable save, steve paid one less CP for a stratagem that saved him from losing multiple times, and they were only rolling one die for injury rolls when you should be rolling 2 for damage 2 weapons

As others have commented; y'all may have fudged some rules a bit. :D I only watch the game and know very little but even I was thinking "some of this seems off." Anyway, was still fun! I don't know if they updated the AGL profile into an assault weapon like in 40k or not. If they did that would make sense. Otherwise yeah, they should have only been throwing one grenade per turn.

From the sounds of it, Nick doesn't own a Kill Team (or at least, doesn't have army units that he'd want to use for it), so Steve provided him with the Custodes and keeping it is the prize.
It doesn't cost points to take a specialist ahhhh! Also you use the damage profile that takes you to 0 to roll for injury, so the custodes should have been rolling 2 dice instead of 1! Great game though! GG

@Daegen Moos yes but in KT penatlies and bonuses to hit are stacking and in KT cover and long range (over half range) add penalties to hit

From the sounds of it, Nick doesn't own a Kill Team (or at least, doesn't have army units that he'd want to use for it), so Steve provided him with the Custodes and keeping it is the prize.
