I must say, I really enjoyed shooting this video with you, Sis @Becoming Dr Andy. I didn't realise I could talk so much about something I am truly passionate about. This channel is a must-share for all high school learners. Honestly, I wish I had something like this during my high school years to help me make informed decisions when choosing a career path.

Hi Andy❤.Firstly I just want to say that I love you so much and I love your content so much as I have learned a lot from your videos.I am a grade 10 learner currently and I've always wanted to be a doctor ever since I was in primary but this year ever since there were doctors striking because of unemployment my family members have been trying to convince me to do another degree after highschool so I started doing my own research about other careers I just can't seem to like them as much as I do with medicine.Every organ in my body screams that I should do medicine,I mean it has been my lifelong dream ever since I could remember, every time I had to study and I didn't feel like studying I would remind my self of my dream of being a doctor one day and I've come so far you know-please advice me;should I just forget about my dream? Is my dream not valid?I don't want to study for 6 whole years and not find employment but I don't know,my heart is just holding on to medicine

Hi Aphile, thank you for your kind words. I suggest you follow your dream because no career is South Africa guarantees you a job. I know hearing that some doctors are unemployed is quite scary but have you seen the unemployment rate in other careers? It’s far worse. I also believe that every person’s journey is different, some doctors never had to struggle with getting a job. I’d honestly follow my passion than take a big decision based on something that might be temporary.
