I managed to down him in the first round in my honor mode run. After initiating conversation, I had Tav lure him closer to the others so that Astarion could attack him. I had him specced as an assassin so his attacks had advantage on anyone who hasn't gone yet in the encounter. I combined the illithid power to turn the hit into a crit and the surgeon's amulet from act two procced, causing Sarevok to be paralyzed. Then I just went ham on him and he was dead before his turn came up.
@WheatAx Oh most definitely. I recently finished my honor mode run, though I nuked Gale to do it. But I was very well prepared should I have to do the final fight, grabbing nearly every ally I could get my hands on and stocking up on disintegrate and globe of invulnerability scrolls.
Nice fight! Just curious, why did you switch to the dwarven thrower after starting off with Nyrulna on Karlach? I have her as a berserker thrower in my honor mode run too, just finished up act 1
Nyrulna does some thunder splash/aoe damage when you throw it. So when there's an ally near the target or Karlach herself, I switch to dwarven thrower for a single target throwing weapon to avoid damaging the allies or herself. Berserker throw is fun! Grats! Act 1 is probably the hardest in honor mode. Now onwards to act2 \o/
