Whats your mindset as far as spell slot economy? like i have trouble not just upcasting fireball or smth to the max slot i have available. us there any kind of secret strat for spell economy? And a similar question for counterspell. what lets you figure out if you should or shouldnt counter
It's hard to explain in just a comment, but essentially for the spell economy you want to preplan everything, so before the fight you already know what spell slots you want to use for what spells. This of course doesn't mean you should blindly follow your plan. Always pay attention to the details before committing to an action, even if the next action seems obvious as the smallest mistake can cost you everything in a solo run when fighting though enemies. As for when to counterspell you need to know what kind of spells your enemy has and then look at what spell he is casting right now and determine if him casting this spell is dangerous for you or not. And if the answer is yes you need to think about if countering this spell would expose you to an even more dangerous spell or not. Taking this fight as an example; Raphael has 5 main spells he will cast in a fight where he doesn't ascend. He has 3 dmg spells: Diabolic Chains, Igniting Spark and Incinerate and 2 reaction spells Punish Divinity and Beguiling Rebuke. Now, all of these dmg spells aren't dangerous for us, since we have a lot of HP and even fire protection, so countering any of these spells would be a waste of a spell slot as they don't have any impact of the outcome of this fight whatsoever. Looking at his 2 reactions, Beguiling Rebuke also doesn't have a big impact in this fight. Sure it's annoying if he hits, but most of our spells are saving throw spells that are able to attack through his charm anyway, so most of the time it's not a big deal. Punish Divinity however is a real problem, since we deal radiant dmg from our Callous Glow Ring, Raphael can use this reaction to potentially Infernal Stun us, which obviously as it's already stated in the conditions name, will stun us. This is already pretty bad, though one thing you also need to keep in mind is that the Infernal Stun is not a normal stun and it will stun you for 2 turns instead of only 1. And as this is a solo run getting hit by a 2 turn stun would just be the end of us, so we have to avoid this by any means possible. And this is why you see me focus my counterspells on countering Punish Divinity while ignoring everything else.
There is a lock on the far right on your hotbar, right next to "Enter Turn-Based Mode" button. You can click on this lock to unlock your hotbar and then sort your spells and abilities however you want. After that you can also lock your hotbar again so you don't accidently move anything around.

Flying is a free action I get from my flying potion (1:18). My second action point comes from the Haste spell I casted on myself at the start (0:23) and then later from the speed potions. And my third action point comes from the Elixir of Bloodlust (1:10), which gives me an additional action point whenever I kill someone (1:29), once per turn.
I like how you did this without major cheese or gamebreaking Simple kiting, casting and danse macabre Like 90% of such videos are "throwing 546565674 barrels of smokepowder at raphael" or "jumping from 43654654 crates as an owlbear"
It kinda is, though I can't tell you if Larian intended it to work like this, or if they will fix/change this once they noticed. But for now it works like this: Saving Throw spells (the ones that always hit and do half damage on successful saves) don't count as directly targeting someone. This allows you to attack anyone at any point using a saving throw spell. Be it through charm or even Sanctuary it doesn't matter, as as far the game is concerned you are not directly targeting the enemy or whoever you are attacking. The only saving throw spell where this doesn't work (that I know off) is Dethrone, can't tell you why though.

Do you have a video on how to make a char who looks like your tav?
No I don't. It's also quite some time ago when I created this character, so I don't remember the exact settings I used, sorry.
can someone explain, how does he get to use flying without any action & how does he have 3 main action slots?
Flying is a free action I get from my flying potion (1:18). My second action point comes from the Haste spell I casted on myself at the start (0:23) and then later from the speed potions. And my third action point comes from the Elixir of Bloodlust (1:10), which gives me an additional action point whenever I kill someone (1:29), once per turn.
@@SleepingDog. does the elixir of bloodlust run out after like 3-10 turns or is it until long rest?
@@mvlpix4419 The Elixir of Bloodlust lasts until the next long rest, or until you replace it with another potion.
@@SleepingDog. damn i always let it rot in my inventory, but it’s crazy powerful
and thanks for the information 👍🏼
I like how you did this without major cheese or gamebreaking
Simple kiting, casting and danse macabre
Like 90% of such videos are "throwing 546565674 barrels of smokepowder at raphael" or "jumping from 43654654 crates as an owlbear"
What equipment are you using for this build?
I show the equipment at the end of the video.
How is Blight hitting through Charm? Is it supposed to work this way?
It kinda is, though I can't tell you if Larian intended it to work like this, or if they will fix/change this once they noticed. But for now it works like this: Saving Throw spells (the ones that always hit and do half damage on successful saves) don't count as directly targeting someone. This allows you to attack anyone at any point using a saving throw spell. Be it through charm or even Sanctuary it doesn't matter, as as far the game is concerned you are not directly targeting the enemy or whoever you are attacking. The only saving throw spell where this doesn't work (that I know off) is Dethrone, can't tell you why though.
what mod do u use for the clothing
The camp clothing I use is from the Assassin's Outfit mod. The rest is just standard gear with the white and black dye.

@@SleepingDog. thank you so much
Nice one bro. Could you share your character appearance sliders?
Not really, it's quite some time ago when I created this character, so I don't remember the exact settings I used anymore, sorry.
Hello. Can you share what collor of skin you pick for necromancer?
I think it's Lichen 1, or Ice Tone 1. I'm not sure, it's quite some time ago when I created this character.
@@SleepingDog. Are you using any reshade presets??? Thank you for answer btw
@@ReitetsuRe2 I don't, all I used for this character is Vemperen's Other Heads or Faces of Faerun (can't remember which one) for the head preset. Though, if I had to guess it's probably a Vemperen one.
