Best reviews in the bizz, truly honest and no sugar coating! Was at the Royalton CSM first week of Feb and got 2 cool days, but still better than -X in Canada! They should make watching your videos MANDITORY before coming to Cuba, that way people would not have fits once they get in country. Cheers brother, stay safe and keep the reviews and videos coming!

Just returned from Cayo Coco (Flamenco) and you pretty much summed it up, the shortages we had were cola for 3 days only, same as eggs, was come and gone. No white wine and red wine did appear later in the week. Had lots of protein available. A la cartes were great. Pool temperatures were cold. Beach was amazing however several cloudy days and couple rainy days. No water issues in room however we were diamond club and other guests in other buildings had issues. Besides any shortages we made the best of it, knew what to expect, brought condiments etc, we had no issues with food, and enjoyed our week, especially for what we paid. Love your videos btw!

It still beats our chilly Canadian winters lol. This is why we head further south in Cuba; Holguin. 2-4 degrees warmer and generally less popular.

Great video guys! We just returned from a week at the Sirenis Tropical Varadero and had a great time. Grand Sirenis the new owners are starting to invest with upgrades. We loved the layout of the Resort as was a Tropical vibe as well as their beach was awesome. Yes the food/mix issue was the same but had eggs every day. Folks have to set their expectations as Cuba tries their best with the US embargoes, post Covid economy struggles plus a dysfunctional governance system. Was our 4th trip back to Cuba and our 2nd to Varadero. Cheers!
Love you guys! My husband and I are definitely like you guys. We love it and go with the flow. I need to learn to just eat proteins and vegis there. I eat way to much breads and pasta and seem to put on weight😂. Cuba is not for everyone but we love it

I am looking forward to the comparison video. I have been to Cuba numerous times and have only had a mediocre trip once during the pandemic. I usually avoid everything under $1,000 during the Canadian winter months. My last trip to Blau Varadero was really great. That was around $1,500 each. You need to be versatile with what you eat and drink because they may not have it the next day. The beaches are great and the people are kind and friendly. That's the basics for a great trip.
The basic for my great trip is weather, food and beach 🏝️ i care less about friendship in Cuba😂😂😂people maybe nice and friendly but if you dont give them a tip, they not gonna be friendly anymore😂😂😂😂

enjoy ur videos @finding fish . As a recent traveler (dec13-20/23) Grand Muthu Imperial (Cayo Coco). i was in tears that 4 out of 7 days NO EGSS!!!. Also had no fries, ketchup, white wine ,Colas no issue with mosquitoes, lots of flies in buffet area. Very very windy overcast cloudy days( but when the sun was out IT WAS HOT!!! Had maybe 1 hour power outage (at night) and 1 hour of no water. People cant go to Cuba and except to eat like royalty. You there for the sun, pool and drinks

Buddy I love the caribe going back again on the 18 th of January love the employees love the atmosphere don’t care about hot water or hydro just love the people this will be five times in the last year it’s paradise for next to nothing money wise nothing to complaining about love TIta too lol

Good morning, you asked about Iberostar Bella Vista, room, pool area, beach restaurants, all clean, workers having a hard time smiling, from being over worked😳. Buffet was plentiful lots to eat, But The major disappointment was finding stones in fried rice or even white rice, talked to a worker, and said: unfortunately this is Cuba we just don’t have the time to sift through it, it is what it is. A bit too late because my wife chipped her tooth. but other than that it wasn’t too bad bitch was small for the quantity of people. Never ran out of eggs milk. But no pop. I enjoy your videos. Hope your Christmas was fun. Happy new year looking forward to watch more of your videos. 🇨🇦

Sparkling wine is also missing very often in Cuba. But peoples have to understand that with the war in Ukraine, Cuba doesn't get any fertilizers for cultures (vegtebales, fruits, coffee, even tobacco) , feed for animals and several other goods (wines,etc) necessary to supply all the resorts. And remember... This situation is even lot more worse for Cubans themselves.

Wow! That's crazy! I was in Cayo Coco and I didn't have that problem, I had eggs every morning, I went in Mid December. But I did notice that they didn't have any Rum Cream anywhere, and when I was in Varadero, I had all the Rum Cream to my hearts desire. But I did notice because Cayo Coco is on the West Coat, there is a constant wind, great for kite boarding, but it sucks because there is more over cast of clouds which in turn gives you a shorter daylight period. I did notice they don't use Maple syrup for pancakes, french toast etc... They had honey as a substitute. Would you agree that food quality is better in Varadero? My room was very clean, hot water was great! No shrimp, and bugs at night were a killer, the miskitos get in from the bathroom window and night, and will eat you alive! But not a party place, it's more for peace and relaxation, but I had a good time regardless.

Heading to Flamenco Cayo Coco January 20th...hoping for a decent stay. We understand it is Cuba and you get what you get. Our first trip was just before the world fell apart in Cayo Santa Maria and we loved it. We went last year and it was not near as great. Fortunately we are easy to please...so here's hoping. Maybe we will see you there! That would be awesome!!!!

I feel sorry about the weather but i think is coming better in the next 2 or 3 days i have a friends now in cayo largo and is the same very windy rain and thunderstorm . But you know always you have soething to do relax relax relax drinking something ..... I love Cuba i dont know another caribean Island always Cuba everytime i want to go to RDominican but i finish in Cuba all the times you know why ????? Would love to see you visit Memories Jibacoa. Still fly into Varadero but it's not nearly as busy and close enough for easy day trips to Havana too. We loved that resort and would love to see one of your videos from there.

We just got back from cayo largo last Saturday. It's windy all week long. Yes, the food someday is good and somedays it's not the best. The worst part is their A la carte, I call "ala joke". It's not even funny how they can call it a la carte.
My first time in cuba so I didn't know what to expect but I'll definitely come back for the beach

Been going to Varadero outta Toronto for about 10 yrs now and almost 20 trips. Come to Cuba with an open mind I've always said and just relax.. I was there in November and I'm back in a couple weeks.. You definitely hit a cold spell.. Beaches are full now because the trips are very cheap and also Russia has allowed flights to resume for vacation goers..

Hubby and i are heading back to Cuba after 12 years and 4 trips to Mexico. Staying at Grand Muthu Feb22. Been told its excellent and saw your video regarding food and drink. When were you there ? Did you notice it very busy. We didnt want Veradero due to it being busy . Nice quiet relax

Yes i was there from Dec 10th to Dec 17. I love that resort & there is no shortage of any thing .I can go back in summer no doubt its beautiful resort.
Varadero is busy because direct flights between Moscow and Varadero.

Have you ever gone to Holguin? By the way Paradisus Rio De Oro over there is amazing, been there 8 times and I'll be back soon, its really safe, good food quality, adult only beaches and staff is great. Regards

@@Finding-Fish I've been once before. We stayed at Tryp in 2017. Got s heck of a deal because they had just reopened after a bad hurricane. I fell in love with the beaches and the people. My sister has never been on a tropical vacation and I asked her what she wanted from our trip. She answered beach and pool so I knew Cuba would tick those boxes. Your vids helped me pick the Flamenco. That beach looks like a dream come true!
No more direct flights from the UK in April either, been so many times but not worth going if not booked as a package and spending extra time on multi leg flights

@@Finding-Fish I just came back from a $495 D.O. week at the Club Amigo Ancon near Trinidad, Cuba.
Room: Ocean front penthouse with high ceilings. Clean with below average beds. Only Eastern section of the Hotel open. Old and dated and being refurbished. We used a key (not card) and no usable safe. Must have been magnificent hotel when new.
Food: They had everything: eggs each morning, three or four meats each lunch and dinner (chicken, pork, fish, goat, beef), Salad each day, fruits with amazing bananas, even a yummy mystery fruit.
Beach: beautiful, but weedy. Walk east 3km along undeveloped beach, west 1km past Memories and Cuban food stalls.
Trinidad: cute little town with cobblestone streets. Hopping at night with live music and great restaurants. Lots of European 20-something-year-olds. Worthy of a video on its own.
Negatives: too many bugs and no dark rum.
Overall: above average Cuba hotel at an amazing price.
Great video once again! I'm heading out to Grand Aston Cayo Paredon in February. Will be my 4th trip to Cuba, but 1st time in Cayo Coco.

Good Day. I have been watching the videos since we stated looking at Cuba. Currently, we are thinking Hotel Playa Paraiso in Cayo Coco for our first trip to Cuba. We have to be budget mindful as my wife is still off on Maternity Leave (which is why we can do the trip). It would be us, our 10 year old daughter and 1 year old son.
What are your thoughts on this resort? It seems to be next door to Flamenco Beach Resort which I know you have stayed at many times, but it seems they have issues with toilets according to some recent reviews.
We are hoping to keep our budget around $3300 which includes parking in Montreal and possible hotel over night due to flight times.
We are not opposed to Santa Maria either.
Looking for your thoughts on some decent resorts which tend to be good value for money.
We haven’t stayed there and Mike would say he loves Santa Maria!!

Yes Flamenco has some issues, but it has some great qualities too, good pools and beach!!!
I'm "not recommending resorts"!!! I just so you resorts. I don’t know what your travel experience is but if your travelling to Cuba be prepared for shortages and water and power issues.

Hey guys, there is soooo much more that you can cover on your vids. I enjoy your enthusiasm as a fellow Canuck to provide information for consumers. I have been to 4 destinations in Cuba 20 + times. 1st... you got water !!! Hallelujah !! Praise the Lord for spending $1k each ( as you know there are many expenses before your actual flight ) medical or more insurance, airport parking, pet care, duty free etc. etc....H2O, but where is the canned beer and pop refreshed daily in the fridge ? It would be VERY helpful for you to show full coverage of the breakfast, lunch & dinner buffets to see all the CURRENT options at all resorts you are talking about. Eg. where's the meat ( sausage or bacon ? ) at breakfast at Valentin Patriarca ?? Also the big one , what about the noseeum's ??? I don't believe I have heard you mention it once in all your vids ? If both of you are immune, great. But surely you can report on the overall biting buffet of biting midges - noseeums & mosquitoes in ALL area's like ( beach, lobby bar, outdoor buffets etc. etc. etc. of EVERY single resort you review.

Great Video Series Fish! We are seriously looking at going to the Royalton Hicacos in Varadero this Mid February 2024. I read all the trip advisor comments daily. That's why I never understood why people are ready to pay ridiculously high prices in those winter months when it's super hot and sunny from April to September. And there's way less people.

People go during the winter to get away from the snow and the cold weather. Come April-October, the weather is nicer so there is no need. Also, who wants to go to Cuba in the summer when it is hot as hell there and already hot in your home country.

Russia under sanctions has better food and drink options than Cuba on a good day it seems. Some people I heard can't get bacon at a resort for breakfast.

No but I have had a lot of friends go there, I've heard from many that the food assortment and quality wasn’t as good as other resort for the price. But i haven’t been for myself but i may go to find out.

As much as i love cuba and the people .. we should be boycotting the island unti they getvtheir shortages figured out... the problem with socialism is that most of the time u need to import alot of stuff... cuba being where it is there is no reason they cant mass produce fruits veggies cows pigs and even eggs .. if they were all 900$ vacations wouldnt be so bad anything over the 1200$ for cuba is a rip off ..

I feel that traveling there and leaving stuff they can use and money behind helps them in a very small way.
For $1200, better to look at DR. People that pay $1500 to go to Cuba are crazy. Someone posted $1500 to Blau Varadero. For that price or a bit more, you can get your own room in Mexico at a 4.5 star resort and not have any headaches. Beaches arent as good but you can find something 80% as good.
@@david37376We haven't been to Cuba since cayo coco in 2018. Looking forward to going to varadero next month. Was just out shopping today to add to our bag of stuff to give. As we were getting in the car, I remembered that we forgot to get gardening gloves for the gardeners so I'll have to head to Home Depot before our trip.

Well said. Fiancée wants to do PARADISUS Varadero in feb to see how a wedding there in nov looks. I’ve never been to Varadero, trying to tell her how busy it is. quite like CSM but she can’t handle the bus ride.. 🫠
I've done paradisus varadero. Its beautiful rooms are nice and have huge balconies. We were soo close to everything beach was steps away. Food was good as well
