Of the 1,002 respondents surveyed, 16% expressed 'concern' over cars driving too fast - so 160 people. Of that 16% just 3% (so around 5 people) stated that they would want speed limits in their local area lowered. So, five Welsh residents said they wanted speed limits lowered vs. over 500,000 people who objected via the petition. Hmm, democracy is alive and well in Wales.

It's all about gearing up for the electric car! A petrol or diesel car travelling at 30mph can stop in a shorter distance than an electric car due to it being heavier. The momentum pushing it forward means it takes longer to slow down and stop. Answer... lower the speed limit, problem solved. How long will it be before they change the limits in the highway code? It's coming, no doubt about it.

The fact remains more hazardous dust is produced with an EV in everyday town driving, these cars are way heavier than an ICE car, and require larger pads as a result, and returning to drums won't change that fact, once the brakes are applied more dust is produced with an EV, disposing of the used batteries is something not taken into account in the pollution stakes, also extra tyre wear is another issue no one likes to talk about, rubber particles washed down into the drainage systems due to heavier wear and tear on the tyres because of the heavier weight load, EVs produce more pollution during the manufacturing process, don't get me wrong, I would love an EV, but lets be more honest and to take into account all the minuses and pluses on both sides.
