COMPONENTS - Generally they are really good. My only minor complaint is that a couple of my flying base stands snapped together a bit roughly. I could probably trim them to fix it.

Each campaign (Part/Season 1, 2, and 3) is largely self-contained, but there are myriad other expansions that add alternate ships, upgrades, crew, and miniature types that can then be mixed-and-matched to use within those various campaigns. An important note, I think.

If you go with the rules as written that isn’t quite true. You can upgrade into some alternate player ships later in the campaign, but you aren’t supposed to use any of the attack wing upgrade cards and crew

Played through the 1st campaign and really enjoyed it. Immediately bought more ships and the other two boxes. My main caveat is really the size of the playing field. I just don't have that big of a table.
That being said with a few minor adjustments I was able to play on a smaller surface(essentially ships fly into the area as their first move) Great game. Still hoping for a Borg campaign. Or legendary battle sets-Wrath of Khan or The Undiscovered Country. But we probably will never get that....
Great review btw, I agree with everything you said😊

We played on the floor, which isn’t ideal but at least it’s big enough 😅😅

@@OneStopCoopShop My back wouldn't be able to handle that🤣 But I'm glad you had fun. 🙂👍

I found it great and enjoyable. The one big negative about the upgrade system was with the Klingons. Their upgrades are extremely limited due to most being linked with certain ships. The AI was done really well. I've seen players make the same silly moves trying to outthink their opponent.

Yeah I just started ignoring the faction limitations for everyone and using whichever upgrades I like 😅

Stupid question, compared to snap ship tactics, just based on the gameplay, which is better / more fun?

Snap ships has the better toy factor. This one is smaller so you can actually have a battle with 4-6 ships at once with no major trouble. This one is the quicker system, while snap ships and its card-based activation system is a bit crunchier. Both are great!
