Thanks for these training videos Davide. They are really useful and interesting. I would like to try a monofin, but I am wary of being underwater with something binding my ankles. I guess it is just a matter of practice and training.
Monofins are really fun to use! Some come with quick release straps so that if you are struggling, you can easily take the fin off. I recommend starting in the shallow end of the pool. You can hold on to the side of the pool and kick with the fin to get a feeling for it, then take off swimming. I've never felt like I wasn't in control even with my feet together. I recommend starting with the Finis Rapid monofin. :)
Over ventilating like you do at 1:32 is not necessary at all for a 100m distance. It is more dangerous than anything else as you lower your partial pression of CO2, push your security zone further and may go into a syncope sooner. Until you have a doctor around (the ones that are out of frame when you see divers hyperventilating during championships) and reach for a distance superior to 100m, ther is no real need for hyperventilation ! And as a bonus you will preserve the micro veins at the end of your lungs (the one that ship the O2 to your blood) that are damaged when you hyperventilate a little too much. Great video anyway !
That's beautiful, I need to try getting myself one. I swim with regular fins, and I love to dolphin kick with them, this looks even better. But like Batman said: "Does it come in black?" not a fan of this color, everything I wea in water is black.

I remember a friend from school swimming 66 2/3 yards underwater. I managed about 50. I wish monofins had been around then
