  • I had this short video imbedded in another series of video. I wanted to pull this out and have it easier to access because I get a lot of questions on this. I will include this under the General Carving Topics play list for reference, particularly for carvers just starting out.

Your videos are very inspirational. On a visit to MD, I went to Havre De Grace and spent time w/ Joey Jobes. Then Ms Vincente sent me to Jaymes Co. that I was shoked to learn was just about 30 minutes away. It was a highlight of my experience to sit and talk with Jim Hahn - what a great human being! Jim was an enormous resource. Next day I visited Jeff Coats on my deooy pilgramage. No one has taught me more than you. I hope we will meet someday.

Thanks for your note and comments Craig! I agree. Jim Hahn is a great person and has done a ton for the carving community. Hope to meet you at a show down the road.

I use a 1/8” to 3/32” reducing collet in my Marathon. You can get those at most supply houses. Most ruby and diamond bits come in that 3/32” shaft size. I get my bits from Jaymes Company or MDI Woodcarvers. Hope that helps
