The "ceiling" is definitely higher nowadays. But so seems the "ground" to be lowered.
I think it's because of how commonplace CGI has become and the amount needed. Talent is being spread very thin as every studio needs some CGI element in nearly every film, and then they have to meet a daunting deadline as these studios want to pump out at least 2-3 movies a year. Then there is just the over reliance on CGI as a whole. The balance between CGI elements and practical effects there was in the past barely exists nowadays
I kinda wish they’d shown us a film about Black Adam where it was set 5000 years ago. Fixes all continuity issues and gives us an interesting environment to explore.

Granted, Kratos didn't even think he was doing the right thing, murdering Gods left and right and causing a Greece-wide disaster each time. He just wanted to murder them all for his revenge. But we were sympathetic to him, still.

I mean yea , it tries to do a bit too many things , but overall , it’s a fun , snappy , movie that knows what it is , doesn’t try to push progressive politics , has a bit of heart , and cool fight scenes

@@andidinu1456 the good thing is that covering so much ground in the first movie means there will not be anything dragging it down in any future movie. Thats often the problem when they drag out character and world building out way way to long.

So...my only gripe with the movie was that while at the beginning it was a bit over the top but funny none the less. They sent the Justice Society to a POTENTIAL threat. I doubt given the circumstances Black Adam would have needlessly killed folks. But because they thought he was over the top at the beginning they thought he was scary which he wasn't at all. The movie wasn't all that good, but I do like Black Adam.
I don't know why but every video that uses that Muzorzgky's piece and Carmina Burana, cracks me up haha.

I haven't watched it. From the previews, it looks like anothe dwayne johnson movie used as a vessel to stroke his massive, enormous ego. I sort of knew him; he went to our highschool for a short time. He was the most pompous, arrogant, egomaniac I've met in my lifetime. It makes sense why he and the humble Vin Diesel don't get along.

Not just dead horses, but misdirection! I thought this was Shazam's enemy? I am starting to think, these movies are made by an A! program, from some sort of Lizard planet...invasion Earth. Waaaaaay too many superhero movies, and back in the day we had different waves of interest...always something new. Now, when we hang around superheroes too long, we see the strings, question stupidities. The woke propaganda doesn't bother me, there is more to life than being entertained. Create something, that you can actually call your own.

Black Adam would of been better, if they just said he was a super villain. If the film was promoted and made from that mindset, it could of been a good movie. Instead, it was a tone deaf film about a so called superhero that was basically mass murdering people. 😂
This continued turning of villains into antiheroes will finish up the supervillain roaster. What happens then? Without villains there can never be heroes, we better now stop making these films if thats what we want.

In my opinion this is a stupid fun movie action drama a movie what a movie you used to be. When predator came out it used to be a stupid fun movie kind of like Black Adam. No I'm not speaking on behalf of everyone is saying that this is up there with The predator.
But what I am saying is you kind of get the general what I mean. I action flick with no real politics that are in your face and bashing you over the head. Just a movie about a villain being a villain but has a bit of a good side so an antihero somewhat.
Also what I liked is that the shield media didn't draw attention to the hawkman being black. Which I don't really care that he is they didn't draw attention to Pierce brosnan being an lgbtqra. That he was going to kiss hawk man they didn't make Atom smash her and then competent idiot.
I mean yeah he is an incompetent idiot but he's a teenager cut him. some slack he's still new to this whole superhero thing. But what he does do is it like terribly stupid he may knock over a building or two because he's not aware of his own size.
But you can tell Atom smasher has his heart in the right place. He just wants to do what's right and he has a bit of a vulnerability he's afraid of heights. Ironic because he can turn into a giant to stop his fall.
The girl on the team isn't insufferable feminist she's a smart and very independent woman but she doesn't have to project all that all. The time she doesn't wear conventional clothing she stands out she wants to be stand out. She's very intelligent and she's very competent with her powers. She doesn't talk down to hawkman because. hawkman and Dr Fate have more experience than her.
Honestly from what we saw she was very honored to be in the JSA. And she was happy to be there and working alongside Atom smasher because he was new.
If anything Doctor Fate also in the movie tries to convince hawkman because he's lived for a hundred years. To see a different side of things not just see. The world black and white and constantly throughout the movie he tries to remind him of that. And hawkman does take Dr Fates advice even though he doesn't follow it it only took. Till almost the end of the movie in order for him to see that Dr Fate was right.
