I’ve got the Gen3 and Gen5 and both have over 1k rounds of Underwood (180-200 grain hollow points through each with one with zero malfunctions and wouldn’t hesitate to use either one of them in a shtf scenario and to be honest, my Gen3 is one of my bedside defense weapons and my Gen5 is carried in my small day pack everywhere I go. I’ve never tested a Limp Wrist scenario as it’s (IMO) one of the easiest to shoot self defense weapons I own.

    I sold my G20g4 and bought a g5. I love it.
To address the stiffer recoil spring (and my weakened hand) I added a Recover Tactical charging handle. I also added an ArmaLaser TR22 green laser like I did on my G43 (TR5).
After a few thousand rounds I can report zero issues whatsoever. And, I am more accurate with it than I was with the G20g4 and that I currently am with my trusty concealed G43.
If I could only have one pistol, this G20g4 would be it.

I have made some minor alterations to it like a lighter trigger connector, a grip plug, adjustable sights and captive guide rod. I find the ten round mags with the steel insert to be totally reliable regardless of other conditions. I have used a Lone Wolf .40 S&W barrel on it without issue so I am hoping the 10mm Lone Wolf I have in storage will be a winner as well. It's seen a lot of miles in my lifetime and is a trusted companion despite it's bulk.

If the finger grooves on the gen 4 don't fit well get the Dremel tool out and customize it to fit. On mine I also thinned the top side of the trigger housing a little and around where my index finger wraps around and now it fits more comfortably which has also picked up my draw & shoot speed. In addition, the bores are very smooth with crisp sharp cut rifling, tight SAAMI dimensioned chambers and they come with near mirror polish feed ramps. • @mikerobinson8734
      @mikerobinson8734 Год назад +2

Honestly most people can’t afford to shoot enough Buffalo bore or underwood hot rodded 10mm Hardcast etc… to see a malfunction.
The average joe spends 100$ on some very expensive (Bear loads) which is about 75 rounds, shoots 1 mag and calls it 100% reliable.
I’ve shot the piss out of the G29 G20 and G40 and I can honestly say the G40 was the most reliable.
When you run the hot stuff through the Glock you have to take mag springs , recoil springs and the most important thing IMO is measuring the feed lips on your magazines with a caliper. The tolerance is big and most failure to feed is attributed to that gap being to wide.
I personally would not trust a Glock 20 any Gen without doing the proper modifications mentioned.
I would rather carry the 45acp Glock 21 with 255grn hard cast or even a 9mm with Buffalo bore outdoorsman 148grn hard cast over the Glock 20 10mm.
Edit: my personal bear defense pistol has been the Glock model 41 45acp 255grn Hardcast chrono right at 1000fps. That’s 16 on the Taylor knockout scale.
Compared to a 200 grn 10mm @ 1250fps scoring 14 on the Taylor knockout scale.

Seems like there is a lot of options for 10mm loaded at different velocities and vastly different energies. The hotter rounds with 600-700 fpe look great for self defense and out in the woods
Edit: Ive shot it 4 times now (about 300 rounds) without any issues (4 kinds of hollow points, 220gr hard cast, 3 kinds of fmj) and its a little more fun to shoot than 9mm.

After the 1st time removing the slide on my Gen 4 Glock 20 slide I could not put it back on. I actually broke the ejector rod and had to buy a new one. After installing the new ejector rod it still wouldn't go back on, so I brought it back to Cabella's where I bought it and they couldn't get it back together either. So I compared a brand new Gen 4 Glock 20's slide after removing it and compared the 2 slides. I noticed that on the new slide the striker assy. was a bit more forward than mine. So I depressed the safety block plunger down, moved the striker assy. forward, and my slide was able to be re-assembled back on the lower. The same thing might be happening when you tried to put the KKM barrel in the Gen 5 slide. Hope you try this and get back to us as to whether or not this fixed the problem with the KKM barrel.

So many people have issues with failure to feeds, me included.

My 20s have always been perfect till you get around 600 ft lbs or over then the malfunctions start popping up. The 220 Underwood hardcast your running will do fine with 0 fouling in Gen4 Glocks. I have 100+ through a Gen4 40MOS. The red coating they use is phenomenal.
I tried one of these at the range. It was spitting crap from the chamber around the ejection port area as what you stated and I saw on some of your shots. I decided to go with S&W M&P 2.0 4" model. A full Benjamin less out the door with another Benny as a factory rebate. Only has 2 mags. Ok. Has better sights, all around better ergos, a trigger I'm still hoping changes (for the better with use), and is a bit smaller all around. Yeah, it loses .49" in barrel. I figure that to about 20fps from standard 180gr fodder.
I really wanted the G20MOS. Just looks like they (uncharacteristically) got it wrong by a bit.
    Good presentation.

220gr isn't reliable feeding on many guns. 200gr or less.
