Thank you for your very own continuing wisdom, creativity not to mention training to boost my journey to progressively more consciously understanding and thus spiritually connected.

The discussion starting at 1:26:48 is the Crux of this episode. The hardest thing to reconcile is the paradox of prophets of God choosing to conceal condemning factual material. I also loved the juxtaposition of "white hat" and "black hat" leaders.

Joseph Fielding Smith is my great-grandfather. It's very interesting for me to learn more about perspectives at different times and how these perspectives shaped views on Mormonism. I wonder why the baton, so to speak, was passed to Bruce R. McConkie, and not my grandfather.

1:24:00 We all know the brethren and individual Mormons are willfully ignorant. They plug their ears and shout blasphemy to the mildest of inquiries. They don't want truth or facts to challenge or interfere with their 'beliefs.' That is the best response, the worst is excommunication and/or actual emotional and physical violence, shunning and every other shooting the messenger technique.

The moral implications brought up 1:32 through 1:33 are paramount and can't be overemphasized.

Very interesting and educational. The question is: do we want the truth or fake truth! Actual history based on the data helps us live in the real world intellectually and morally. Fundamentalism of any brand is bound to fade away if we are successful in educating our children to think critically with a love for scientific investigation. If any religion can't withstand science and real history, then we're better off without it. Every church and religion has had to deal with this and my opinion is that this is the reason for the dying out of the vitality of religion around the world. What kind of a church will you have if all the intelligent and moral members leave?
I've noticed that some LDS members have left Mormonism and embraced "true Christianity". What they need to do is investigate the history of Christianity with the same logic and reason they used to verify the authenticity of the LDS Church. What was the nature of the "Church" which Joseph Smith claimed to restore? Before the Council of Nicea there were many more gospels than the four in the Bible, and there was not a uniformity of belief about the nature of Christ. Since Jesus left nothing in writing, His followers did the best they could, but that doesn't mean they were accurate. Many Christian leaders don't want to face these facts of history, so the faith crisis within Mormonism is reflective of the faith crisis within all of Christianity. Thank God we now have science to help us get out of the fuzzy and wishful thinking. This happened to me my first year in college when I took world history.
These interviews are beneficial for even non-mormons. I appreciate them!

There are other ancient Christian records besides the New Testament. I have been reading many of these. These are from real manuscripts dating to the proper time period, and are nothing like what Joseph Smith taught. No magical gold plates that disappeared. Real Christianity has a lot more evidence to back it up than Mormonism, which has no evidence at all.

Who, and when was their findings (empirically verifiable) published. In other words, has any part of evolution been scientifically proven? I’m willing to study their research. Sans this evidence belief in evolution requires blind faith.

I’ve got over 20 years of history in the church I was shocked by the announcement on the children of gays. This caused me to investigate, if this was a mistake how many more was there, i’m shocked by how many there is, a cover-up history, the firstvisit turns out to be a load of balls, DNA shows the book of Mormon to be wrong, The book of Abraham is actually an advert for a Egyptian funeral director, But the problem is having ministered in the priesthood for so long and I’ve seen so many miracles and things that hard to explain in a way, yes I’ve come across some idiots who thought they could not do no wrong because thay act in Jesus name and claimed unrighteous To dominion, now is the Book of Mormon scripture if not history book, is the book of Abraham scripture even if the papyrus is rubbish, The book of Mormon has done so much for people change lives and led millions of people to Christ, so how wrong is it
