Yes you can!!! Be careful because Katie is correct NaOH, sodium hydroxide, lye, or wherever name you choose to call it will burn your skin and seriously damage your eyes. With proper precautions you'll be safe.
Katie, I have been watching you for two years. I watched you for an entire year and did my research. So February of 2019 I attempted my first soap. I was hooked!! And I have been making soap ever since. Thank you so much for everything you continue to teach me wether you realized it or not. You are amazing!!
Hey, I just started watching your video. You are an amazing teacher. I just loved it. Have a quick question, as you used titanium dioxide, is it okay to skip it or is it one of the main ingredients?
I know I told my husband that I wasn't going to get into soap making. I have sooooo many DIY hobbies as it is, but man it would be nice to do just "once" to make bars for Christmas Presents for my family, & friends/coworkers! I'm actually seriously thinking about it, but I'd have to do it when he wasn't looking LOL

OMG, I so needed this lesson because soap calculations have been driving me nuts. I've only been doing "melt and pour" and wanted to take it further but all this calculation stuff was a bit much. Thanks to you, I have much more understanding. I love watching your videos. You're always so happy:) "I am capable, I am confident, and I am going to have fun!!!"
Honestly, I have seen hundreds of tutorials, and nobody like you !!! You are a teacher, you explain in a clear and concise way. My admiration for you. I have never taken a classroom or online class, and I learned to make soaps watching videos, and I can tell you that much of what I have learned has been thanks to you! Hopefully you continue making this type of videos. Greetings from Mexico. #kalomenaturals

I genuinely can't even express how grateful I am for this series, and the way you explain everything and break it down for us plus the pep talk at the end ! love love love it all
I am probably going to make soap in like five months but I’m still watching this video and lots of knowledge before starting I haven’t bought any materials or anything because I want all of the videos to be out just so I can just like go through them all and learn
Your personality is amazing to watch, I’m addicted to your channel even if I don’t plan on making any soap 😅. Your car analogy is great but as someone from Europe who’s over 30 and doesn’t drive, it doesn’t work as well, haha. Me and my hubby never bought a car because we feel like we don’t really need it. And both of us hate driving, he has a license but I don’t 😅.

Absolutely so thrilled you made this series! After spending so long studying and learning from various people. I finally made soap yesterday!! Originally wanted to make HP soap as I love the rough texture from it. Due to slow cooker reasons I can't make it sadly. So I took on CP soap. It was such an experience working with lye and using the immersion blender. I made bamboo charcoal lavender soap!
I have watched a few (read: a lot of) soap making videos over the years, and thought about making my own off and on because of allergies and sensitivities but kept believing the negative voices in my head that tell me I’ll never be able to do that, thank you for encouraging us to believe in ourselves. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my province’s essential worker bonus gets applied for on our behalf by our employer next month when it opens up, but even if it takes another year to squirrel away the funds nickel by nickel, again thank you for being your beautiful self and restoring my faith that i can do this!
Katie, these first few videos are excellent for beginners! I'm remembering my first batch of soap and it was awesome because, I'd read Anne Marie's first book, I'd watched you and Holly at Mo. River Soaps and I was prepared. Although I still make soap on a regular basis, I do skin care for the body and face. Mostly the face. However, I am still excited when I start mixing colors and pouring fragrance! Good luck to your new students!

Katie I just love your videos. Your always so happy sweet & kind, it makes me smile watching these. I have been following you for 4 yrs & have learned a lot from your posts/videos. I have made melt & pour so far but getting ready to branch out to cold press. Thank you for educating your followers on the safe proper way to make. I have ordered your soaps for myself & gifts. Love them. Glad to be able to learn from one of the best soap makers out there ❤❤❤❤❤

I've ordered all of my tools, but I need to go out and buy the raw ingredients! And a little stick blender because I missed that on the shopping list. Do I need it? no. Do i want it? Yessss, hehehe. I'm so excited to make soap with you, Katie, and with all the rest of us here watching.
I bought supplies to make soap back in January, I started with M&P before lockdown really hit, and once it did, between that and moving, I never made my CP. I watched a lot of videos from brambleberry but I was still so intimidated and didn't make it. I even put in another order with them for things I "needed before I could start" but I still found myself paralyzed how to proceed forward. Your videos have truly come at the perfect moment for me, you're reiterating the knowledge I've found so far and building my courage by making it so easy and approachable. I truly appreciate your teaching heart, this is something you didn't have to provide, especially for free, but I hope one day to send you a beautiful bar of soap I've made from your lessons. 💕💕💕
I love your pep talk! I'm not planning to make soap (I just like watching your videos), but I am definitely going to make that my new philosophy. "I am capable, I am confident, and I am going to have fun!"
You inspired me to start making soap. I just started making melt n pour and just made my first bar a couple of weeks ago. I’m excited to follow this series when I transition to cold process
I just wanna say I appreciate how gently and thoroughly you explain this process!! You're doing such a beautiful job!! Thank you so much for this series!!!
Wow.... you are an excellent teacher and motivator. THANK YOU so much 💓 from the bottom of my heart. I've been struggling with depression for a few years and with anxiety for almost my whole life. Watching your videos has made me find a new passion, now I feel motivated (hadn't felt like that in a very long time) and I'm actually getting everything to start making soap. Who knows? Maybe I'll make soap as beautiful as yours someday
I appreciate you taking care to put the videos together to teach me 😁 the joy of soap making!!! I cannot express how much fun I had making my first soaps 😁😁😁😁 you are a jewel 💎
I bought my lye, colorants and fragrance in the last fall, but didn't feel confident enough to actually start. This series helps a lot the gain the confidence!
Katie, I am so excited. I made my first batch using the royal upgrade recipe. I bought different scents, though from Nurture Soaps. I made a Lavender Sage in 3 colors with a chopstick inside swirl. Lol I am an overachiever! It looks nice and I can't wait to cut it to see how it looks. I have watched so many soap vids that I thought I could do it and I think I did okay. Thank you so much, Katie. You are an inspiration. Love to you and God bless you and your family.
I want to make sure I am ordering from the places where you will get credit. I just ordered powders from madmicas. I don’t remember where the mould, and fragrance needs to come from. Can’t wait to get everything together and make some trial bars in prep for gift bars.. love your spunky personality. You make me smile.
Thank you so much! I am nervous to even put in my first order, I keep watching your videos to learn more and more. I keep telling myself I will put my order threw when I get enough information, but I know the longer I wait, the longer it will take me to make my first batch . So thank you again, and hopefully I will push my first order this week.
Awesome video. I am not currently trying to make soap because I don't have access to all the materials but I still enjoy these videos and learning about the process. Plus, you're a brilliant teacher! That makes it so much more fun and entertaining.
You are doing a great job. You're engaging and when you tell use something you explain why you do it that way like the info about micca. You are being a great teacher.
Yaaayyy! Katie! You are such an amazing teacher with such an amazing personality! You are a wonderful ray of sunshine. My husband and I decided to start making soap last week when we stumbled upon your channel. My husband has been down in the dumps with being jobless and not being able to go out to do things. You have inspired us both to keep going! Thank you for giving us the tools to succeed! 🖤🖤🖤
I would love it if you continue with these instructional videos. I was like you when I first started soaping. I read a lot of material but most of it was inconsistent so I made a lot of mistakes. The soap community is a wonderful and generous (mostly!) community and this kind of video is what newbies need to help put them at ease. Thanks Katie. I'm still learning from you. You have such a bubbly personality it's always a hoot to watch you soap!
YAY!!! I got my micas today!! That was the last piece I was waiting for!!! Unfortunately I can't drop everything to make soap today. It is one of those horrible all the deadlines are due today days. So - I will clean my work space tomorrow and then mix up my lye solution. Then on Friday (a day off YAY!) I will make my first soap. Whoooooo!!!
Girl I love you, when I watch your videos it makes my heart joys ,your so funny, you belong on the big movie screen. Your so funny. I am from Jamaica man, no problem mon
Really enjoying this video series. My aunt was burned badly by hot lye water when she was a child years ago so i've kinda been a big chicken about it. My tho how times have changed. Its much safer and easier. Think I'm gonna try it. I love to make things.
I could have used this 3 months ago :) I am still watching though because I will probably learn something new! You did convince me to try making soap and I'm glad you did!
Thank you for sharing these.. I’m watching all of them. I’ve been making melt n pour soaps for since 2016 but never cold process because I’ve always been scared to try and I’m not that great with math but I am good with measuring. I’m glad that you can find a lye calculator online. I bought lye this week and slowly buying everything else I need for cold process. I’m excited for a new challenge and thank you for being your normal self too. That’s like my husband Jamie and I we are goofballs and etc. lol! You make it fun and seem less scary. Thank you! Also love how you demonstrated how to make the lye water, makes me feel a little better for when I go to try it. I’ll have to hash tag Royalty Soaps as soon as I do make my first batch. Thank you for all y’all do!!
You inspired me to try making my own soap (as a hobby and gift idea) because doing crafts just seems to tame my ADHD. After weeks of research, I landed on a similar recipe to this one, except it also has avocado oil, castor oil, almond oil, and mango butter. Thanks for the inspiration. Now to place an order to get some soap from you too!
Honestly Im not going to make soap anytime soon but your personality is so beautiful. It draws so many people in. Hopefully i will get into making my own soap in the future. Well done Katie

Thank you so much for doing this tutorial series! I am excited to start CP when I feel ready!
I love the tutorial, your positive energy, I’m watching don’t feel like making soap yet but the process is interesting.👍🏽
She is adorable!! I need a Katie in my life. You’re so positive and your energy is amazing!!
Unrelated, BUT the way you store your micas is just GOALS. Cant wait till we get our first house so I can have a set up like yours!!
You're surely a good teacher.vibrant and enterprising. You added beauty to intelligent I enjoy your teaching .pls give us more
You inspired me to start making soap. I just started making melt n pour and just made my first bar a couple of weeks ago. I’m excited to follow this series when I transition to cold process
Thank you for this series. After we move I'd like to give this a try. God bless you and your family.
I just wanna say I appreciate how gently and thoroughly you explain this process!! You're doing such a beautiful job!! Thank you so much for this series!!!
I love your personality and I love how you are just being yourself on RUclips!! Love your motivation!! Thank you
Wow.... you are an excellent teacher and motivator.
Thank you for your enthusiasm. I am currently gathering ingredients to make my first batch of soap.
I am started making soap and I’m planning to continue doing it by following you and make your recipes. Thank you for sharing your talents to us.
Agh, I'm not even planning on making anything but I love watching your videos!! I've had sort of a hard day and they are helping so much.
I want to make sure I am ordering from the places where you will get credit. I just ordered powders from madmicas. I don’t remember where the mould, and fragrance needs to come from. Can’t wait to get everything together and make some trial bars in prep for gift bars.. love your spunky personality. You make me smile.
I just started making soaps for my family your videos are the best and easiest
I really appreciate your being so kind and generous on sharing your knowledge. God bless you..
Thank you so much! I am nervous to even put in my first order, I keep watching your videos to learn more and more. I keep telling myself I will put my order threw when I get enough information, but I know the longer I wait, the longer it will take me to make my first batch . So thank you again, and hopefully I will push my first order this week.
thank you so much. i really want to start a soap business and you helped me. i cant thank yo enough.
Loving the soap making series! Great job! Your instructions are clear, your attitude is so positive and uplifting! You are doing an amazing job!
Awesome video. I am not currently trying to make soap because I don't have access to all the materials but I still enjoy these videos and learning about the process. Plus, you're a brilliant teacher! That makes it so much more fun and entertaining.
Have you done a video on calculating batch size? I’ve found some, but I’d love to see one from you since you are so clear and easy to understand.
You are doing a great job. You're engaging and when you tell use something you explain why you do it that way like the info about micca. You are being a great teacher.
Oh my God, you are such a good teacher!!!!!!! Thanks you very much, you also make me smile!!!!!!
Yaaayyy! 🖤🖤🖤
I’m a soapmaker for a year now and I’ve still learned from this video! Thanks so much, Katie! I hope you do a piping tip video! ❤️
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS! thanks Girl for knocking these out!
I've never wanted to make soap....until now. lol You are so encouraging Katie!!
The pep talk at the end was nice.
I’m just getting back into making soap and I had to look you up again! Your videos are so fun to watch!
Thank you for putting this course together!!! I am learning so much. Am hoping that there will be more than just these 6 lessons.
Eeekkk I'm so excited and a little bit intimidated... but I've ordered my supplies... anxiously awaiting their arrival!!!
