  • What a find!! Today I cashed in on some Caladiums and a few Fox Gloves from the discount shelf. Watch as we transition a bare garden bed into a cozy, fun place to view along the paths.

Jesse, you are doing a great camera job showing us your hubby's garden talent. It is good to have a husband who has a good garden design eye and can bring it into fruition. You guys are a great team, the camera lady and her garden design husband. You guys should do a landscape design book next. Thanks for sharing.

We live in Iowa. Our little bit of gardens are no where like yours. By any means. That being said, we had an amazing respite from the heat yesterday. Beautiful 70 degree breezes and an inch of rain the night before. My husband and I took the opportunity to do some much needed weeding.
I live watching your channel. How lovely it would be to have a garden like yours.

If you pull the mulch back in the fall away from the foxgloves , they will reseed for you and you can add the seedlings to other areas of your yard

Your garden looks amazing. Only wish mine could look half this good. I plant and then fight all the little critters that like to munch on my plants. I have always been infested with snails, millions of them, well maybe not millions but it seems like it. And then underground is the destructive little moles. A loosing battle for sure. I enjoy seeing all of your beautiful arrangements in your garden. You are so talented.

Another thing I like is that you always mention being at box stores because some people say you have to go to the more expensive nurseries. I also like that you guys get things when they’re on big sales some too and try to take advantage of that.

Dig up caladiums before frost and you can save inside overwinter them and replant bulbs in May when soil warms. I do this each Spring.

Your shade containers with the begonias are stunning. It is funny to me to hear of the stores marking down plants cause we do not have that here cause I am in SoCal. I guess because of our mild winters I am thinking.

Beautiful garden spaces! I haven’t heard you talk about whether you feed them with fertilizer periodically. Do you use fertilizer? Also, I live close to Gardner. Do you ever let visitors come and tour your garden. I love the way you do your plantings. Trying to emulate in my small yard.

NOT, "shooting from the hip." That means saying or doing something stupid. (Trust me.) What you might say is, "I act on impulse;" but, actually, you find inspiration everywhere.
I meant to add this comment to your complete garden tour video, but I think it will always apply:
You say that you have trouble expressing yourself, that the words don't readily come to you. Well, a great deal of eloquence can be found in your garden; and its power is felt by everyone. Your videos inspire us, teach us, and reward us at every turn. You can't denigrate yourself. It would be like Monet, after receiving a compliment, saying, "Oh, that old thing."

I enjoy your easy conversational style and the way you fearlessly experiment with new plants and garden additions. You have artistic eye for combining colors, texture, and form. You would be a natural designer using principles of feng shui. For now I will continue to learn as you go and revel in the beauty of your visions. Many thanks to your camera handler who captures the beautiful surroundings with elegance and grace. Thank you for sharing, and making the world a better place. Godspeed. 😊

It’s always fun to see what’s happening in your garden. So many plants all living together! I think I should go take a look at our Walmart for a plant sale. Bought 3 plants yesterday at Home Depot and they were full price. The only bargain I can usually find is at Lowes in early spring when the mulch is half price. Then I buy about 40 bags to have on hand.
