- This watch shocked me in how much I liked it. The King Turtle from Seiko comes with a Sapphire Crystal, Ceramic Bezel insert, and one heck of a solid feeling watch.
DIA: 45mm
Lug to Lug: 47mm
Lug Width: 22mm
Thickness:: 13.2mm
Movement: 4R36
WR: 200M
Power Reserve: 41 Hours
The Seiko king turtle is one if the best watches seiko makes. A true 10/10 watch
Yep skx < king
the cyclops is made of sapphire, it is a mistake to say that it is made of plastic, if it were so it would be scratched in any action, this does not make sense. as in other brands for example rolex, it is added to the sapphire crystal by means of a special adhesive, but of course if you put this in the fire and apply a lot of force it could remove it. (if it were plastic with the heat it would be damaged and it doesn't, only the adhesive is affected) Thanks for video! ;-)
I had a seiko Samurai and never thought I will like the Turtle because I thought it looked a bit funny until I got one on wrist. I really like the Dark Manta dial and I still like looking down at the dial thinks it looks great. I gave the Turtle a chance. Completely dig it and became my daily watch. I got a strap code bracelet with it because the silicone keeper would getting undone. It is a comfortable watch. The date of the week, timer, and lume are all useful. My Omega Aquaterra is my daily watch now, but I totally recommend Turtle to anybody. The king turtle comes with a sapphire glass and ceramic bezel too. My turtle kept good time, but lower end mechanical watches are hit and miss.
I have watched MANY reviews on this watch, as I own 3. I can honestly say that yours is the Best and most well spoken of them all. Great job!🙌
The mum story is great 😊 Thanks for sharing and for a really interesting and attractive video.
Have this watch, same size wrist’s 6.75” …fits perfectly because of the short lug to lug …. Dial is so unusual and the strap is very comfortable, even if it is a little long …. Perfect dive/snorkelling watch … luv it. 👍
I got a 6 3/4 wrist and use this watch on a Miltat bracelet, excellent fit and much better than the original Seiko bracelet.
Great video. I got one of these, had the cyclops removed and put it on a Barton silicon strap, and now it is just about perfect.
What color Barton strap did you go with?
I own a few Seiko watches. SKX007,009, & a 013. A couple of the Turtles, SRPE93 & SRPE95. Just placed an order for the King Turtle SRPE05. Can't wait for it to come in.
Yep king >skx
I love all the textures on this watch.
This is my most sought after king turtle as well. I also have the SRPF77 Grey Manta, but the green Grenade King Turtle gets the most attention from random people and friends. Has that GI Joe appeal.
I watched three of your videos, so I’ll do the polite thing and subscribe 😅 Love this watch. King samurai would be cool too
Agree fully with your review, have the same model. I have it on a black waffle strap, wears smaller than the oem strap and looks amazing for my tastes
I fucking love this watch
Sure do. I recommend the Seiko Land Tortoise, which is smaller at 42mm and even more beautiful. Runs on a NH35a, which does not cause trouble like the 6R. oh, and it costs a third of the price.
I have this on the matching crafter blue strap. Really completes the look
i have exact watch but on olive nato strap and i love it.
I know we all have different numbers in mind when it comes to what we consider to be ‘beater’ or ‘affordable’ category, but $600 is def outside of my range for a beater.
I actually just yesterday received the blue SRPE39 yesterday. I’m loving mine on bracelet. It’s a very comfortable watch . I only wear my watches on bracelets.
Very nice! Enjoy!
You can squeeze the metal keeper with pliers. On the inner side of it there’s a weak spot where a bit of pressure will keep it in place
That’s a darn good idea! I’ll give that a go
I recently did a watch mod on a seiko nemo turtle. Absolutely love it. It's unique and fun to have in the rotation
I cut the strap end - so no problem! Also try Uncle Seiko straps - GL831. I like the cyclops.
Good idea. I may do that!
(Late comment) I love the grenade turtle, the flappy strap is something I've noticed when working, also that keeper is scratched to buggery now...
I had someone mention using pliers to pinch it tighter. Might help. I'm going to give it a go.
@@HarrisonElmore 🤣🤣
I swapped out the green strap for a black one from seiko, replaced the metal keeper with a black rubber one, and removed the cyclops with a torch. NOW it’s a way more “perfect” watch. Might take off 3/4” of the rubber strap… Thinking about it…
Why would people remove the cyclop? I bought the King Turtle for that reason alone! I already have an SKX007 and a Padi Samurai, but I got this for the cyclop :) Crazy people.
Would people remove the cyclops on their submariner? I think not lol so why do it .
The lug to lug distance and female end links are much more important than the diameter of any watch.
I have a citizen with a similar band, with the same issue with the retaining clip.
You can bend the retainer, I've removed the cyclops and the size is perfect for my wrist.
I have the SRPE03 black dialed version, and love it. I didn't wear it on the bracelet long, because I felt it was a bit heavier than I wanted. However, I put it on a Crafter Blue rubber strap, and it's my favorite way to wear it. I think it elevates the look of the watch too, though I mostly wear it for walking the dog, casually on weekends or doing yard work. I don't have the issue you had with the metal keeper on that strap, which is a plus. It weighs 130g on that Crafter Blue strap, which is a bit less than my smaller Alpinist on a Strapcode bracelet (~140g). I was indifferent on the magnifier initially, but I have eyes that are starting to age and I have grown to appreciate it. It really does sit down on the wrist, and doesn't move around much. I have a 7-1/4" wrist though, so there's a bit more surface to work with there.
Well said Sean. I LOVE mine in black. It's a tad more subtle and understated. Although I'm eyeing a save the ocean variant....
I bought my grenade last week and loving it on my 7 1/4” wrist. My aged eyes likes the Cyclops on the sapphire.
It’s a solid watch. Hard to not love. The cyclops is always helpful in my mind
Ah the rogue territory makes another appearance! Great combo with the 🐢
Flint and Tinder! But good eye!
@@HarrisonElmore apparently not that good of an eye lol great vid, dude. Always great insight.
Does the dial look "green" to everyone? Because I ain't seeing it. Looks black or a very dark grey to me. Nice review.
Fantastic watch, my first Seiko and I love it. Feels great on the wrist, both the watch and the strap.
The green dial looks great and I also like the magnification visually. Definitely not a bad buy, will also try other straps.
I truly loved everything about this but the cyclops for day date.
It bothered me enough to sell it off unfortunately.
Hoping for a model without a cyclops or any info on replacing the glass?
You can remove the cyclops. It's just glued on, so you can find info on forums and maybe even on youtube for removing the cyclops
That’s helpful to know, thank you.!
I like them but I'm left handed . .swap it on the other hand....the bevel seems like it won't fit....😢
I love the cyclops indeed. It has decent use. Don't be stupid enough to remove it. Will you remove the cyclops of your submariner?
Great video
thanks
Anytime!
Great watch. I'm not a fan of the big chocolate block of a date magnifying glass. So i bought a King Samurai PADI.
Makes sense! That’s another solid one from Seiko
That thing needs a green NATO.Absolutely love mine.
I’ll try one out!
What's navy?
Can always change the bracelet and get one with a rubber keeper (not a metal one)... e.g. from uncle Seiko .
I like thePADI and the SRP 777
The magnifier is plastic. Why do that when the rest is Safire???? To me it makes no sense to cheap out on that tiny piece. Thanks for pointing that out. No other reviews have mentioned that. Keep up the great content.
Moms know best! 😂
I have the SG exclusive version which is basically just blacked out and I love it to death. The dial just draws me in! Despite how large and heavy it is it does fit wear nicely.
The only other Seiko diver in that price range that tempts me is the King Samurai but end of the day the turtle won me over
I don’t blame you! Enjoy it!
Same. Turtle is much more comfortable than the samurai. With the right dial the Turtle looks pretty good too.
so you don't like the sto king turtle because its to big but you do like the green king turtle because it's a grenade ??
you do known it's the same size.
I just got this watch....it does has a misaligned bezel....fractionaly miss aligned. Should I return it??? not sure what to do...is this a big deal guys?
I would keep it unless you can get another one in person to check the bezel and you’re not out any extra money. In theory you can fix it easily yourself as well
@@HarrisonElmore Yeah i did fix it a bit...submerged it in hot boiling water and left it in there for about 10 minutes. I was able to move around the Bezel and it worked. There are a lot of remedies for this....RUclips has some great solutions for fixing watch bezels. I love your youtube Channel by the way Harrison!!! keep them watch reviews coming
@@Crimson_626 glad you got it a little. Sounds like a better fix than I would’ve done! Thanks will do!
@@HarrisonElmore What do you think of Luminox Watches??? never seen any video of them in your channel, are they any good??
@@Crimson_626 I’m partial to Luminox, but I’m biased. It was the first watch my dad gave me. I’ll cover it likely soon!
Nice
ur wrist size plz?
Seiko King turtles that are sold in sweden does not have the little marker at 3…
Interesting. Must’ve changed the design
I never heard any body call this a "grenade dial" before. The videos i saw went with "waffle dial" but i get the military link. If you don't like the polished case, the unsigned crown, the cyclops and the retainer why not get all the parts online and build a unique watch for yourself? There are millions of Seiko aftermarket parts out there. Go ahead and show us the result!
The SRP 777 is the closest ro the original Willard without any unnecessary additions!
what is this jacket?
Flint and Tinder Waxed Trucker Jacket. Flannel lined in Field Tan
I see a few turtles on ebay for like 80. Does anyone know if those are legit?
Depends on the age. If it’s new, probably not. Some old vintage ones it’s possible depending on condition
If this is a watch review, than it should be 95% of the video showing the watch ,not the man that speaks about the watch.
part of the problem is you have really skinny wrists.
Built like a tank is actually the opposite of the truth. These Seikos are not worth he money and are, on average, shoddy in construction quality and unreliable. Buy a Casio instead.
