    IMHO this bike is Triumph's smartest move ever. It will sell like crazy I think.

      Not to mention third world markets too! I really hope it’s going to be priced under the CB650R in my market, I’m gonna be so sad if it’s getting sold over an MT-09 (which is $650 over a CB650R, and, get this, $2000 over a Z900 (yes a Z900 is cheaper than a CB650)). I’m looking forward to a Trident as my second and possibly last bike.

      Although the business has moved mass production out of the UK, with the Trident made in Thailand, it said the new model has an “original British design” which comes in a “pure, minimalistic form” and Triumph's design DNA

    • @motobob
      @motobob  3 года назад +6

      This is a tricky one though - apparently because of euro 5 the engine is tuned for lots of back pressure from the exhaust, so if you fit something free flowing it won't run so well. I'm interested to see what will come to the aftermarket though...

    • @lordgibbness

    • @jim60631
      @jim60631 3 года назад +2

      I think this is going to be the most interesting part of this engine. Rip the euro 5 off, high flow air box, and a tune and I wouldn't be surprised to see rwhp gains of 10+. Respring the forks for your weight and I think at that point it will be an excellent everyday bike o ride the hell out of.

    Haha had a chuckle when you brought up the looks as a big selling point for you since you favor the more classic bike shapes since I picked up the BMW F900R because I totally dig the angular futuristic looks 😆 Motorcycles are awesome that way though, so many options out there you can find the perfect one suited to your use and design preference. Congrats on the purchase my moto bro and enjoy the ride 😎✌️

      (Still making my way through your video haha) but ya, I feel like sometimes we might feel a need to justify our bike choices to others like, oh “this other model has more power but...” or “that model has more features but...”, and I catch myself doing the same at times, but truth be told, riding is such an individual and emotional experience and point blank, some bikes just speak to you while others may not even if there are more logical options out there. Haha alright, back to the vid 😅

    Nice one: I always like to see what a reviewer actually spends their money on. Why not take the null time to get it coated in some protectant.

      @@cpuuk or spare that expense and wash and wax regularly…..well it looks like a flat finish paint…..just wash the flat parts…wax the shiny bits.

      How long do nano coatings last?

    Greetings: My humble opinion is that you acquired a very practical decent bike, even though you know how it performs, enjoy it more. Congrats.

    Excellent video and I love your passion, but I always get a kick out of my cousins across the pond and their appreciation of small displacement bikes. To me, anything less than a liter is just a novelty. Although I must confess my oldest bike is a Kawasaki 650 which I keep for nostalgic reasons and a method of keeping excess cash under control. Looking forward to seeing more about this acquisition.

    Triumph noticed interest growing in this area of motorcycles and Honda cb650r with that retro looks and inline 4 cylinder was first in a market.
