  • In this video we are going to make a "selfie stick" that is just a handle to attach to the standard GoPro mounting system.
If you want to follow along or just make your own you can start with the supplied dataset here that has the standard mounting system to attach to a gopro a360.co/3kAVOu2 Note that your 3d printer settings and resolution will have an affect on how well it fits so I suggest doing some test prints first.
I decided that I wanted some way to just hold onto a GoPro while snowboarding without attaching it to my helmet, wearing a chesty(which would point the wrong way) or carrying a huge pole down the mountain that might break if(when) I fall. So I set off to make a simple handle to connect to a GoPro's standard 2 tab mounting system.
In this video we will also take a look at the Creality Slicer as this is what I used for my Ender 7 3d printer.

10:47 rotating the cut for the nut 45° in CAD would help to print the feature without need of support.

If this was a design that had a screw thread instead of a nut would you 3d print the thread on PLA?

in PLA probably not. In PETG yes but not with the standard machine screw that GoPro uses. The threads are too small and I would want something a bit more course.

This reminds me of the X drone you taught in the Coursera specialization. that was a beautiful drone. Your channel provides the best content for fusion and should be acknowledged by Autodesk. Thanks for everything Matt. one day I will share my designs with you and you will see how your courses made it possible.

Thanks for the kind words! That drone was a fun one. I still have 2 of them here but haven't gone up in the air in awhile :) I have all the parts, maybe I should make another one. And i would love to see what you have created!

Thanks! I hope so :) I don't ask people to sub or like, probably an error but I find that a bit frustrating when videos start that way :)
