Hey guys! A very quick history lesson on AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST and the whole "Black Song/Pink Song" concept:
AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST is BLACKPINK's fifth song and the only track released in 2017, after an eight-month hiatus. One hour before the music video dropped on RUclips the group had a "Live Countdown Show" where they talked about the video and how excited they were. Jennie, in trying to describe the song without giving away spoilers, said "We were nervous about releasing this song because it was different from our previous songs." She awkwardly was trying to come up with a way to describe it and said "It's more of a ....pink song than the others, it was uncomfortable filming it because we had to smile and in previous videos the CEO told us to look fiercely into the camera." Fans took that comment and ran with it, categorizing every song as either "Black" or "Pink". Neither the group nor their company had created the labels, fans did it on their own, and in reality it's a mess because everyone uses their personal taste to call a song one or the other. So in closing the only song that the group actually named by color is AS IF ITS YOUR LAST.

BLACK & PINK:
-BLACK: badass and urban
-PINK: cute and sentimental.
Although their BLACK concept is the most popular and well known (since 90% of their songs are badass) they also have their PINK concept like: AS IF ITS YOUR LAST, STAY, YOU NEVER KNOW, HOPE NOT, THE HAPPIEST GIRL, DONT KNOW WATH TO DO, LOVESICK GIRLS, YEAH YEAH YEAH, GONE, HARD TO LOVE
Yup! I would also add 'Yeah Yeah Yeah' to that list. Additionally, in recent years they also have put out tracks that kind of straddle the line between the two, like 'Lovesick Girls' and 'Ice Cream'.

This song hits hard in their concerts. So much so, they've chosen it to be their final encore song.
2019 they were the first K-pop band to play at Coachella and rumor this week is they may be one of the headliners on the main stage this summer!
They are also scheduled to play Hyde Park in England in July! They just wrapped up the North American and Europe tour and next week will be doing Asia middle east Australia through June approximately.
I got to see them for the first time in Newark New Jersey at the Prudential center in November and it was so much fun. This is coming from a 49-year-old white man married with two boys and was never into K-pop a year ago.!! by the way, I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but they have collaboration songs with Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, and Selena Gomez.
Blackpink has an incredible duality, they can go from bosses (Black) to princesses (pink) in an instant, they are unique.

You probably noticed being this an older song when they were younger how much that have matured and grown musically as adults now with their music in their style. especially with the latest stuff like shut down and pink venom and typa girl and tally. they’ve gone from young women to adults in the past six years.
Their B sides are just as good if not better than the ones with videos as you have already seen with the Born Pink album. Also Ddu Du Ddu Du Tokyo Dome Remix is their best performance and is a must watch.

one of the more memorable songs for me, now that could be because I had my son on my shoulders for almost 2 hours straight at that point and I was super tired, but the “BlackPink in your Area” was chanted by the whole crowd and was awesome

This is the rarely seen pink side of Blackpink. Kiss me as if I am your last is a phrase in Korean that is massive and a main reason this song went huge in Korea. This video was also in Batman vs Superman movie when Barry Allen (Flash) enters his place and turns on the power to find Bruce Wayne sitting in his 2nd favorite chair - this video is playing on the TV above Bruce's head. It is time to do a guide to Blackpink. One of the things that makes Blinks so INSANE about these girls is we have seen 6 years of content of them living normal lives and know them so well and these girls are awesome people with personalities as different as their music colors. These are 4 of the best people in the world and even if they had no talent they would still be 4 of the best people in the world.
Also, you still have not seen Jisoo's vocal skills yet. Even though they are covers you need to see her live version of "Yuki No Hana" which is the most beautiful song ever. Here is the only version I know of that has English subtitles ruclips.net/video/mM6BGDr3fqw/видео.html and her live performance of "Clarity" also shows her vocal skills and unlike the original she does a switch at the end and takes it from those power notes straight to soft which takes immense skill level.

Honestly, I have never been attracted to Kpop because of the childish style I have seen in many groups, but Blackpink is different, not only because of their musical style but also because of their personality and voice, it shows in this kind of songs, they are using their cute side (Pink) but they don't sound childish or too innocent, on the contrary they show charm and color without losing their strong and daring spirit, I think that authenticity is what makes Blackpink a very attractive group.
This is the most kpop-y they've ever been, but it's still BP. Cute but not cringey and they're not trying hard, bright but not too saccharine.
