They never disappoint, it also has a live orchestra which is cool especially since shutdown is more on a violin piece. The crowd is lit, the energy is good. Aside from watching the official performance watch also fan cams of crowd singing along with blackpink from pinkvenom to shutdown and even singing again pink venom even though it's just a backtrack and the girls are only standing at stage for picture. Lisa's part in the 4th minute is my favorite Lisa part in ANY of their songs. She starts out singing and slowly increases the pace until at some point it turns into a rap and because of how she does it you cannot tell when it switches from singing to rapping (she is soooooo F-ing AWESOME). Her little "Ouch" scream at the end of it when performing it live Rose slaps her ass and it is hilarious.
Real set. No autotune no green screen no CGI.😃 Just pure talent.

Great review as always :). A couple of interesting facts for you. 1. In the scene when Lisa is on the pier and it goes on fire. She actually got very frightened and scared during that scene ( Remember all the sets are real, they are not green screen). Her fellow members were there and supported her throughout that scene. and 2. The scene where Rosė hugs the guy. Her fellow group members tease her lots about that scene :) especially Lisa :)

I was born in 88 and remember the rotary phones! Put your finger in the hole and rotate the number clockwise until back to the top! The lower numbers were always more fun cause you had more to rotate 😂
I didn't first hear this song until I had already digested and binged on their other songs (what you guys have already covered). But I'm glad I waited to hear this one because it is SO REFINED. Definitely one of my favorites from them. I had already learned to appreciate Blackpink and their talents, but something feels completely put together in this song, even the lyrics and how they translate to English. This one just hits every spot.

This is by far one of my favorite songs by BP. I have missed these ladies and am waiting patiently for new music from them. I recently found a new group that I think you guys would dig. XG, 7 Japanese ladies, defined as a global group, that have some YG backing to get exposure in Korea. I highly recommend checking them out. Start with XG tape #2 Xgalx Xypher. You will not be disappointed.
