The issue with your expectation is that you actually think that the referees view the game as they should be viewing it. The truth is they are not after fairness or anything like that. It was and always is weird and very hypocritical to see Simon criticising players for "cheating" and not respecting authority... It is this kind of thought process that has made the refs the way they are. A referee isn't in a position of authority... He is in a position of service! They are there to ensure the game is fair and also to prevent players from fighting and/or injuring each other. That is it. But people like Simon and the refs themselves believe otherwise. And as for players cheating... The refs don't cheat? Really? What would you call Mike Dean's declaration of brotherhood towards Taylor in the chelsea-tottenham match a few seasons ago? Or Taylor's entire europe league final performance in Roma-Sevilla... He definitely cheated that game and unless you live under a rock... Only the english and Spanish media claimed otherwise. It becomes funny when Taylor refs in the prem and one of the teams playing ends up robbed by him and the fans react... @David-zl9qw how did you fail to understand? He said that refs are not after fairness when their job SHOULD BE to ensure the game is fair. Not to be in a position of authority.
The idiot slipped. Rather than falling and letting the press go, he sticks out his leg like a fool. In his deluded mind, he thinks he can slip single leg tackle a footballer who has fully trapped the ball and is a yard away. If he had control over that leg, then OK. But surely the severity of damage is not irrelevant? For example, there is a big difference between catching someone high with your studs and making contact with your ankle, and that difference should be taken into consideration by the referee. And the funny part is 90 percent of united fans are wven annoyed that it got overturned because we dont want to see bruno on the pitch for at least 3 games. We look better without him
The biggest problem is that the actual referee does not check the VAR in the EPL. Just make the ref go and check the Screen on these critical decisions. Simple as that. Whether its a given or not, just check the Screen before issuing a RED card. Referees think they will spend a lot of time on the screen but that is not even close to the truth. They just want to get away with burying the evidence and say "We are sorry" in the end.
As human error exists, there always should be an appeals system where you are able to debate the nuances and merits of the decision outside the pressure of immediate decision making in game.
I’ve been saying from the beginning of this VAR nonsense , scrap it , it would lead to corruption , the same offence will be interpreted differently according to the clubs committing it . Let the officials make their honest mistakes , and bring the spontaneous joy of celebrating a goal back .

What Mike Dean said on Simon Jordan's show is a thing that happens quite a lot. The reason we have only heard it from Dean is because he is the number one most stupid ref we've seen. But scum like Webb are the same. They always used to say how old trafford was "intimidating" to him therefore he ended up making mistakes in favour of united... How about switching refs for them then? If webb couldn't handle it. The FA never seems to do that no matter the refs performance because the FA actually want the ref to make those decisions and they are rarely mistakes.
VAR is only worth it for Offside. If they do get involved in game decisions, then they need to get involved in all. Clear and obvious is such a waste of time
It's not just an automatic review. They don't review every decision to decide if it was wrong or right. The club has too appeal for them to look at it, so obviously they will

It’s shocking!!
The ref said it was a red and Var simply backed him Var is based
Honestly, some of the intelligence levels on the people that call TalkSport 😂 The second caller doesn’t know what the word ‘precedent’ means
Var need a makeover, the captain of the team should have the option say two times a game to ask the ref to look at the monitor
problem with that is... if 3 times you're done wrong in the game, you cant change them all.
imagine saying you were wronged, we know you were wronged, we have the video right here proving it... but because youve used your "challenges" we cant do anything about it.
if you have the technology you have to use it.
the argument for me is... is it worth having or do you scrap it.
its making the game less enjoyable to watch... however if we're getting every decision correct now id understand the argument... but we're not clearly. as shown here. cos that was never a red card.
so is it worth having?
Simon’s whole argument is flawed by the fact you can’t categorically say VAR improves the amount of right decisions when it’s making decisions that are subjective.
it does stevie wonder can see that
Why would Simon or anyone defend VAR. All our teams have been ripped off of points. Gabby..my god. You couldn't see his standing leg slipped. Tap on the shin guard for god's sake.
Not a red huh? I wonder if it was an influential call.
Good bunch nice one lads
Best skit yet that!
9:00 "Every single pundit " Like you Mr Jordan....
What is the purpose of VAR? Is it there to overturn wrong decisions cause if not then get rid of it and let the ref make mistakes otherwise leave it in and overturn every wrong decision
If you make a decision and Gabby agrees with it, you know you've made the wrong one. The bloke is a clueless weapon.
I reckon most Man Utd fans like myself are unhappy with the decision to overturn the ban, ten hag has tried EVERYTHING in 3 years now except drop Bruno, when Bruno has a nightmare of a game eth would rather take off a player that’s actually doing better than him. Was looking forward to seeing Eriksen get a chance there. Not happening now. 🙈
Ridiculous on field decision, never a red. We would end up with 5 a sides if that is the level for a red.
Simon Jordan looking like his Mum still cuts his hair.
Gabby is 100 percent correct
