The pieces were all there, just needed that special qb to get them over the hump. I gotta be honest I didn't know he was going to be this legendary, I thought he was going to be a big arm and gun slinging QB did not expect him to be accurate. Was I wrong, the dude is the most talented QB ever, he can run and throw the ball anyways you can think of in any directions, dude is unreal and in 5 years leap frog to arguably top 3 of all time and thats ridiculous.
I thought so at first, but right after I watched his Tech highlights, I looked at his college stats & they didn’t add up to a mistake making gunslinger. His INTs were always quite low, especially when you take the yards & TDs into account. I remember ESPN going with the “He’s a gunslinger, he’d gonna throw a ton of interceptions” narrative. All they had to do was take 30 seconds to look at his stats to know that it was fairly unlikely that he’d throw a lot of picks.

I grew up a die hard Falcons fan, and my brother grew up a die hard Chiefs fan. I can remember telling him that Mahomes would be the piece to turn the Chiefs into a powerhouse. The pieces were all there, just needed that special qb to get them over the hump. Tons of respect for the Chiefs as an organization - a lot of teams would have rested on their laurels after winning 12+ games a year with Alex Smith.
Loved Alex Smith, and your early assessment of Mahomes, but just wanted to be annoying and point out that Smith only had one year in his whole career where he won 12 games.

I gotta be honest I didn't know he was going to be this legendary, I thought he was going to be a big arm and gun slinging QB did not expect him to be accurate. Was I wrong, the dude is the most talented QB ever, he can run and throw the ball anyways you can think of in any directions, dude is unreal and in 5 years leap frog to arguably top 3 of all time and thats ridiculous.
I thought so at first, but right after I watched his Tech highlights, I looked at his college stats & they didn’t add up to a mistake making gunslinger. His INTs were always quite low, especially when you take the yards & TDs into account. I remember ESPN going with the “He’s a gunslinger, he’d gonna throw a ton of interceptions” narrative. All they had to do was take 30 seconds to look at his stats to know that it was fairly unlikely that he’d throw a lot of picks.
