while I love these summaries of what has been going on in the keyboard industry, kind of “behind the scenes”, it is pretty depressing to hear about all this drama - but that shouldn’t stop you from doing that, infact, I really appreciate you doing all this so please keep on doing that Teaha!

As someone who is eagerly awaiting the R2 of a specific Baionlenja product, this recap served as a much-need reminder to reconsider. Unfortunate times for the hobby as of late.
Baion left discord recently too, all the signs of his final exit from the keyboard hobby are there.
You will be fine. These are manufactured and backed by Kezewa and sold out on every vendor's site. If you buy from a vendor, they will refund you in the case that anything goes wrong. They're also shipping within 180 days so if you wish to bail and the vendor is not cooperating, you always have the chargeback option.

Some potential albeit niche ideas for future content - it'd be cool to look at submissions of people's custom boards and comment/review (or guess the products) on their colour combinations, themeing, artisan choice sound profile/switches, etc. Custom keyboards are a creative hobby after all so reviewing this aspect of one's board curation could lead to more hype around that.
Another thing I'd be interested in you giving the spotlight to are smaller keyboard designers that do custom or commission work - a video reviewing some of those boards could be cool. As most of the keyboard market shifts towards the budget hobbyist aspect, and people realize the differences between high end mx boards are very subtle, those wanting to spend more money on it often want a more personalised artistic experience, which isn't really possible to offer in a large group buy for a high end board. That's why anime and kpop boards or other personal boards have gained a lot of popularity, often talked about in small discords etc. Designers like Hali and Bowl come to mind

Not gonna lie, the fact that SL immediately started talking about duality r2 and duality65 right after the r1 GB bothers me. Clearly he just wants to pump out projects to make money. Even look at eminence. He didn’t order a proto until after people paid (each board is over $2k)…
To be fair he hasn’t ran Duality R2 or Duality 65. He specifically is waiting to fulfill Duality R1. Stop the fear mongering. If you simply don’t like the maker just speak with your wallet and don’t support any endeavor from him.
Literally every big maker in this hobby does this dude, this is nothing new. Laminar is constantly pumping out new shit before previous outstanding GBs are even fulfilled, constantly changing R0 designs behind consumers' backs and nobody calls him out on it because he hasn't been involved in some kind of big drama besides being a cunt towards other smaller makers in Geekhack threads, which is common knowledge anyway

I believe you should do more research on topics that deal with "drama" and also be more unbiased when reporting information that is complicated.
drama is always one sided otherwise you'd call that "news"
Never confuse incompetence with malice, and a victim for a perp. Most incompetence and scamming occurs behind the scenes between businesses. Anyone who has run a business would understand. And if you're just starting out, those are the hardest and most expensive lessons you will learn. On top of that, you're then confronted with your customers complaining, and all liabilities.
Art is a hobby, it should be free. Be grateful your art is displayed somewhere.

Man I was really lucky with my Rama boards. I have 3 SEQ1 Kara's and 3 SEQ2 Thermals. I mean they did take over 2 years to ship but at least they did actually turn up eventually. Whole situation is such a shame.
I agree. I have an M65B that took 15 months to ship. At the time it felt like a lifetime, now it doesn’t feel so long with what people are dealing with currently.
I also got a Thermal R2 but did so on the extras sale. I love both boards, definitely a shame with how people are being treated currently.
It really is, good products and brand going up in dust due to bad management.

aw geez, i saw streamline's announcement post in his discord about the weight sale but it gave me the impression he sold or shipped that prototype board by mistake, without knowing what weight was in it. it being clearly pictured and described by him in his for-sale listing changes things a lot, extremely disappointing to see him not being forthright.

Dingkey sucks - their discord is toxic. Copied design with minimal change from Feng. The Ktechs break in machine is undoubtedly the best break in machine on the market at the moment. 100 switches at once doesn't matter if off-center or centered.

What really is the situation about RAMA Works?
People are just complaining about delays, which have always been huge, or do we have an issue with completely unfulfilled orders? If delays are always huge (> 2 years is typical for RAMA), then what is an unfulfilled order?
Quite literally exit scamming from RAMA Works.
Multiple people, myself included have waited since 2021 for our products. During that time there have been no updates in over a year (depending on the product) and no response to emails. Delays are one thing, not giving any updates (even to say there are delays) is another. You can’t leave people in the dark for over a year after taking $500-1000 from them. I mean, you can. But people are justified in being upset.
Bought a Kara seq-2 around 2 and a half years ago now, it seems like they have started to fulfil orders nationally in Australia, so am just hoping that I will receive mine in the future.

Group buys are the craziest thing I have EVER seen... if an item is sure to be even slightly profitable, SOMEONE is out there who would put up the money for it, and that person will vet everything. Group buys and kickstarters just give unvetted or unqualified people a lump some to do something they are inexperienced in, from manufacturing to handling money and responsibility. If everyone stopped participating in kickstarter stuff (or pay first, wait till later to receive type items) there would be more competition and more interesting keyboards in the market. A legit company can not compete against people making promises.
What are you talking about? Without GBs, this hobby wouldn’t even exist. Do large vendors need to do GBs now? No, but smaller individuals who want to run things absolutely still do.

@@nixietype Yes it would, you don't know how it works, because you're used to this. Someone somewhere (I would myself) would have a run of something made up if it were a good idea even if they only made 20% on the deal. Then it would be done by reputable people with real direct investment who care about an outcome and the product unlike they do now.

Taeha I like your content and I know these recaps aren’t journalistic in nature. But I wish you would do your due diligence before saying you agree with a comment on a reddit post. The person who made that comment is just one of the many people who have been harassing Baion. I am not surprised by Baion’s response. While unprofessional, he also has emotions.
I wish you would have reached out to Baion for comment, or even his manager Manu before saying you agree with a reddit comment. You have a lot of influence in this hobby and your content has a lot of impact. This is only going to send more hate towards Baion.
(Just for context, Baion needs to find a way to make the money he owes. He is doing that by running other projects with vendors. So far, him and the people who are helping him have been nothing but transparent with us. I believe Manu is even working for free to help not just Baion, but those affected by the failed GBs as well)

I am the person who made that reddit post. I wasn't harassing Baion whatsoever, I was responding to a daily spam message of "Baion Lenja :yeee:" with comments like "Where's Ophanim :yeee:" or "Stole my money :yeee:". Ironically, he sent this unhinged message in a DM where he proceeds to trauma dump, tell me I'm not special, state that nobody understands how hard he has it, and then tells me to toughen up before blocking me.
He owes me a keyboard, and people should be aware that he owes a lot of other people a keyboard. Trying to keep the shilling in check so some new victim who joins discord isn't met with a wall of blind praise was apparently enough to get me banned from the server, leaving me in the dark about ever getting my board.
Creating a reddit post about it was pretty much the only thing I could do at that point.
His message to me was absolutely unhinged and unprofessional and deserves to be exposed for any potential future customers.
@@w.briangehalo5456 A comment of mine was also shown in one of the slides and yeah- In a corporate job I would probably be killed off before being allowed to preach about the woes in my life and berate a customer like that. The comment cuts off on probably the most important part I say where keyboard designers absolutely *need* to know the importance of having a PR person or literally anybody to peer review whatever they want to say before they damn themselves like this. There's a difference between saying *why* something is happening and making deflections on what's causing it. I'd probably take a "lifes hitting hard imma chill lol" before whatever he did there.
Additionally there was no mention of Angel's audience harassing Streamline in streams and personal servers and threatening him over what's either a mistake or a broken commitment that they should have dealt with privately. If people want to criticise Baion for his inappropriate, emotionally-charged response to a customer, but then act like a fucking nine-year-old girl harassing someone over a business relationship souring that doesn't involve them, then that really just proves to me this scene is now dominated by hypocrisy and simpletons that subscribe to some hot-button maker's cult of personality

He has already made it clear he’s trying to pay for the remaining orders by running other projects.
Everyone in his server who is interested in getting a board is already aware of the situation. While you might have honest intentions to create more awareness about the the failed GBs, your Reddit post is only spreading more negativity towards baion. Badgering him about updates when there are none is not going to achieve anything.
At the end of the day, you are entitled to your opinion and I won’t tell you what you should or not do. My comment was aimed at Taeha.
This scam scene is why the hobby is dead and everyone buys a Corsair.
